Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

About 45% through Chapter 5. The ceremony is very stressful. I shudder just thinking about it.

I’m super excited! I’m trying to imagine Hades being the supportive figure (whether as dad or uncle) and gosh, wondering if Persephone drops in as well.

(if Hades is your dad and she catches him conversing with biological mom – wew, wanna see where that leads)

Well, yes. Thanatos was death, Hades ruled over death. Thanatos could always be Hades’ glorified secretary or his equivalent of Hermes (which is kinda funny, since Hermes was one of the few gods who got along well with Hades)

Another fun fact about Ares!

Ares and Hades got along surprisingly since Hades appreciated that Ares always sent more people to Tatarus.

It was probably something like “You’re my best friend, Hades.” “I’m your only friend.” at best, or “You’re my best friend, Hades.” “We’re friends?” at worst.

You are like the Ares Number 1 fan!. My favorite gods are Hermes, Apollo and Afrodite. And Of course, Eris and Nemesis badass goddess. Thanatos is ok, but too serious and stoic for me.

I will defend Ares forever.

My top 5 gods have to be:

  1. Ares
  2. Hermes
  3. Artemis
  4. Hecate
  5. Eris

With Eros and Psyche as honorable mentions :relaxed:

Thanatos is also cool! He hates the gods because they won’t die and he hates everyone else because he’s superior to them.

So you support War? You admire War? You admire bloodshed, carnage, displacement, slaughter, pain, terror, and devastation?

That’s not good.

You can respect War, but you should never revere it.

I don’t support war. I’m actually a staunch pacifist. I just like Ares’ role in mythology. He’s interesting.

Edit: that’s like saying someone who likes war movies likes war.

Doesn’t matter, Hades could fry Ares with a snap of a finger. The Trinity are the most powerful of the Olympians. The Greeks didn’t like Ares either, which is why he had such a bad rep.

I never said Ares was all powerful?

Yes, and the Greeks also didn’t like Hades.

I’m well aware of Ares’ stance in mythology and the relationships he had with the other gods. I never said people liked him, only that I did.

I’m not sure why you are arguing with me when I didn’t say the things you are arguing against.

He’s considered the God of the horrors of war.

(also rebellion, civil order, and in Rome, farming)

He likely didn’t go on a rampage and turn the sky “black with the smoke of a thousand burning cities” since the other cities had their own patron god who would protect said cities from Ares.

The farming bit was likely a part of the Romans viewing Mars, their version of Ares, not only as their god of war but also a founder of Rome. Farming/agriculture was, after all, one of the things that separated “civilization” from the “barbaric and uncultured nomads.”

Your right it was only 999 burning cities the last one wouldn’t burn it just collapsed… Dang windy city
