Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Really, you can befriend most of them, or get them to loathe you. It’s just the choices you make. But, warbing, certain characters will just hate you, no matter what you do.

It might not be obvious at first though.

Sudden flashbacks to the Council in the Mass Effect games (at least for the first two games).

But since we can befriend most of them, do we lose approval points for befriending certain characters? If ever, they’ll be regainable in later points?

@Rohie will the MC ever rage out with the power of the essence like a random surge of energy somewhat akin to Bruce banner getting a little angry?

That’s his “I’m about to kill someone face”.
Someone better go stop him.

This is definitely Mara’s influence!
Good thing they’re not talking about poison or there’d probably have to be a duel at sundown for the poisoner title.

Oh, there was something I wanted to mention, but I forgot it until now. Oops

Anyway, when the PC chooses to confront the Seeker, he kills himself. I found it a bit odd that the PC would just… walk away from the dead body without informing anyone. After all, what if someone saw the PC trailing the Seeker before he was found dead?

It’s not really a major thing, just something I found slightly odd, but if there was a certain thought process at that point the PC was using to justify just leaving the body there, maybe it could be included in the narration?

YES I KNEW SOMEONE WOULD START BEING INFECTED WITH THE DARK SIDE, IF I COME HERE ENOUGH…
(I had to slap Mara to assuming direct control or my phone. Bad Poisoner… Bad Mara.)
Now, Seriously This game is so fun that I have been thinking about having to Main characters to role playing with: The Emo Mara I was talking about here. And Elizabeth Macbeth Victoria A cunning hunger power pro gods character That would look so friendly and cute until BACKSTAB TIME ZEUS
@Rohie could be possible for you have a hidden stat to know if a character lie . Guenevere has one . So I could hug Henry and Auntie but still thinking bad and anger about the situation

Everyone is already suspicious of you. Saying you “found” a dead body of a well known student that’s been missing amid rumors of you being a cold blooded murderer? Not the brightest idea. Besides, I needed to move the story along.

Maybe in the future I’ll add something.

Mara is definitely coercing me to the dark side as well. When I’m writing certain reactions like when you confront your father, sometimes I think, “How would evil characters like Mara’s MC react?”

It helps a lot.

Oh… I have plenty of Ideas about that… Too. And How they sort out who the father would be ? Did you enjoyed it Daddy? And How great was sending assassins against your own daughter, Certainly you have learned from Grandpa. Well, I am not a lamb to be sacrificed in your menu.God
Oh, Emo Mara is ANGRY she wouldn’t accept any gift from daddy

“Oh, Sure you don’t want a beautiful sexy charming poisoner in your life. No needs be violent against each other when there are so many people to steal and poison available, monseigneur”
But really my characters in this game are not EVIL, just ruthless and power hungry. And Emo is scare to death.

@chrisbat

I cannot imagine Charlie Sheen as anyone other than the Illusive Man. Although yes, he does make a good Dionysus.

Someone should also bring you back to the light! (Don’t look at me though, I hug the grey line of morality)

There is a god of death though. Thanatos. @Rohie will he show up here?

You are into the kiss-kiss-slap-slap kind of trope then? Or FoeYay?

Tsundere alert! :sunglasses:

My word! I was already looking forward to meeting Aeson, but now we have two more interesting characters to meet! Awesome

Since Psyche is comparable to Athena, I suppose she will be the intelligent one of the group. I wonder if the rivalry with Aeson is because of grades or because of popularity

Hmm I wonder how you can make such a character likeable, but I trust you… I shall look forward to putting him in his place. Which means either the ground or the MC’s bed.

Do we know which gods are responsible for spawning these two?

I’d love to bring him in, but he’d be stepping on Hades’ fingers. [quote=“H2O, post:1709, topic:15482”]

You will! You can rule out any of the Trinity for sure, though. Focus on the Gods who I haven’t assigned children to.

It isn’t exactly clear who is really older. Thanatos or Hades. Some paint Thanatos as a very early god, as the offspring of Nyx and Erebus (both primordial gods), while some paint Thanatos as Hades’ lieutenant. Both could be done… with thanatos giving way for Hades. Alternatively, you can also decide which side of him you want to portray, the merciful death side or the violent savage death side…

Most stories say he’s the son of Nyx, Nyx gave birth to Day… But she also gave birth to Strife, Old-Age and most of the terrors that plague humanity. She is not a pleasant goddess.

Hades tended to be the God of the Underworld, meaning he oversaw what happened to people after they died. Thanatos made sure people made it to the Underworld.

Hey, fellow mythology fans!

I’m reading Robert Graves’ collection of Greek myths and he had this to say about Zeus:

“The so-called Heliopolitan Zeus was Egyptian character, and bore busts of the seven planetary powers as frontal ornaments on his body sheath; usually, also busts of remaining Olympians as rear ornaments.”

So I’m wondering two things:

  1. Does this say that he wore busts of the Olympians on his butt?
  2. How accurate is this really? I’ve heard some controversy about the book presenting theory as fact, so I was curious if Zeus being Egyptian in origin is a fact or a theory about how the idea of the Gods developed in Greece.

This is definitely a theory, though not necessarily a bad one. Greek religion borrowed heavily from Egypt. However there was a lot of borrowing from other cultures as well. Most notably Persian, who built on older cultures. Plus thunder gods are a dime a dozen so take your pick.
