  1. Because it doesn’t add anything. If you want to bump something, at least go back over it and see if there is anything else you can add to the original discussion. Or, try to encourage the OP to get back to it.

  2. Because it’s against the rule of asking for updates.

@vampierkid222 and @Everyone else who "bump"s threads: If you want to post something on a thread, actually say something. If your post is devoid of actual content, it’s spam. Spam is not tolerated.

If you’re trying to ask for an update, it’s against the rules. If the game is actively being made, it’s annoying. If it’s no longer being made, it’s not encouraging. If you’re trying to encourage them to continue, then getting an e-mail which says “bump” in it and nothing else is no encouragement to get back to or continue writing (assuming they have their preferences set up to e-mail them in the first place).

Whether a thread is active or the last post was the day the forum was made doesn’t matter, if you’re going to post something, include actual worthwhile content in your post. If you’re not going to include worthwhile content in your post, don’t post. Period.
