Alpha of a pack of four raptors (Game Idea)

Basically yeah without some proper character development can’t really tell how to judge them or your story just yet. But it’s a niche idea but also a good idea and I think you follow through with it ^^

Mkay. Thanks hon. I’l try to do more

Not much of an update more of asking for help. I’ve been told (and I agree with) one of the first things i should do is figure out the ending(s). Issue is I can’t think of any.

I have a few ideas I wanted to run by ya’ll.

Ending Ideas

  1. Pack swims to near by island for new home.
  2. Player (and/or pack) are captured.
  3. Player (and/or pack) are killed.
  4. Player (and/or pack) are eaten.
  5. Player watches over new eggs from pack and other raptors.
  6. Player sacrifices themselves for the pack.

Does anyone Have any other possible ideas for an ending?

Also I think I want the Player to pick the gender of Octavia and Gladiator, While Whisper will still be gender neutral.

I have some personality details but idk if its enough to share yet.

A good ending could be:

"You are ripped away from your pack. You roar loudly, unable to do more. The humans have captured you, but how? They are scrawny, THEY ARE WEAK.

Oh, but you are far from finished. Soon the humans shall know of your strength, and they will not take you away so easily"

Just an idea anyway😜

I mean yea, XD But i need ideas for different endings. Not so much how/why it happens, but alternate endings.

Does that make sense?

How about… The dinos create a civilization and become fully sentient? Like a dino society :city_sunset:

No. not wanting a comedy thing. More like Jurassic Park.

Then I got nothing.

lol. Its ok. Thank anyway XD

I think you’ve got a nice roster here already. They all seem like things that could happen in this scenario, offer closure, are distinct from each other, and have good opportunities for choice-making.

Some of them might be able to fit together… I could see the pack swimming to a nearby island happening at the same time as sacrificing oneself, for example.

One thing you could consider is more of a compromise ending, or cooperating with the humans… giving up on fleeing, but still surviving. It could have a bittersweet feel.

Instead of being captured by the humans who originally held them, there could be a rival group or experimenting scientists who want to capture them as well. That could provide an alternate threat.

As a counterpoint to “player sacrifices themselves for the pack,” how about a scenario in which the player betrays the pack for personal gain?

Anyway, you have interesting ideas  looking forward to more!

I guess that works. I’m just kinda stuck. but if those work ya think.

Another thing to consider, is have you thought much about what variables you want to track yet? That could have an effect on the overall feel.

what do ya mean by that?

What sort of stats? Like they talk about here:

I’ll give that a read. But IDK If i should start designing stats yet.

Having a basic idea of what stats you want the player to have before writing is a good idea, since a ChoiceScript game is more game-y than the average CYOA novel. You don’t need a lot of detail in the early stage, but knowing roughly what you’d measure with a given choice can help with writing the story or slightly altering choices.

oh…mkay… Hmmm. Ok well what do you recommend for this game?

Does anyone have any ideas for possible stats for a raptor game?

Well i would say the main three stats should be Intelligence, Speed, and Strenght

As for lower tier maybe a sliding Dominant/ Submission stat to see if your character would be more of a leader or a follower.

And maybe stats for using claws and/or teeth

Those I deff planed on doing, Maybe add stealth too? IDK what another good MAIN one would be?

YES! Ok yea! That was one of the FIRST Stats I wanted to try out. I’m glad you feel the same way.

Not sure how that would work? Maybe I just don’t understand.
