Oh yea no I think I just complete misunderstood your previous message I mean I was tired and just about going to sleep when I looked at it and missed the Patreon….anyway can’t wait for the next update
Assuming I haven’t misread the code, it seems if I join a carrier ram to hunt a bounty I still get a cut of the reward even if I contributed nothing of value to the chase, which is awfully sweet of the crew.
I love Ricardo Milos!
Haha! Love this. Yes, you get credit for being a disruptive meat shield. The crew hopes you get better and appreciates the conversation and those UwU eyes! Also, I wanted a way to ensure that those lacking skills with weapons could survive.
For the pirate path, as the fleet grows, I plan to have the battles evolve into tactical affairs eventually, where you will direct the steeds, drays and carriers to counter enemy movements, rather than one on one fights.
I am glad the memes brought you back here!
Oh thanks for welcoming be back and also noticing me senpai! I always read your story ones a few big updates are released. I sadly don’t have much time right now. Work is in the way and keeps me tired.
Will we be able to romance Avalina?
I have been asked about that a few times. I think there is a place in the story for Avalina to become a potential RO- though as she leans towards supporting the Basilisk it may be a ‘mechanical’ kind of love (?!?) Or maybe a way out out it- or maybe a bonding of cogwork computational binaries. Watch this space, although it will be a little while. It would probably happen, if I implemented it, after the revolution and will need me to complete the Basilisk path through the revolution, which will be the next thing I release on Patreon. This month, Patreon has been paused due to life getting in the way.
Forget the daily grind, throw down your tools and start a revolution just like the Roachpedes!
Oh no Mr. Entity sir, I am a loyal worker. I will never do anything bad and instead do whatever my queen asks of me!
UPDATE 6 (approx 80K, 612k total- 19th December 2024)
This latest update is insanely complicated. Much of what happens here depends on your earlier actions, whether the rebel, royalist or Basilisk factions have the edge, much based on what you have done.
-All will get a scene in the Iron Hill pub, where Basilisk cultists try to take control.
-Royalists will get a longer path, finishing at the battle of the Baron’s Quarter. Here, you may see Father Roach make an appearance. You may also get to don the Bastion Armour if you are an ash marine who has joined that secretive order.
-Rebels will get a longer path, finishing when affiliated engine mates fire Fort Ard’s artillery at the Despair’s Demise. Among, other options, you may find a hidden goblin tribe or have Sera unleash the full extent of her demonic abilities.
-Basilisk cultists currently have their path end after the Iron Hill meeting.
-Those who have not sufficiently supported the Royalists or Rebels, and if they take control of events, will be forced into exile. This path ends soon after the Iron Hill pub meeting.
Please report typos and bugs. This is a very complicated scene to piece together and your help is much appreciated.
The paths are continued in the most recent Patreon update and these will be updated here, in the HG forum, next month!
@NumberedEntity For some reason, I can’t access the Basilisk Cult Path, when I try to help them, it would always deny me, especially as an engine mate.
You must kill Coireal. Have you done this?
You should also have put on the Basilisk helm and allowed Father Roach to remain under Basilisk control (don’t save him when you find him). It would help if you encouraged the Roachpedes along the path of the Certain Future.
The path ends shortly after the scene in the bar right now. The royal and rebel paths are more developed in this update version.
I’ve played on your patreon so I’m not sure where this demo ends but the scenes with Lady Evagre are really something else
Where do I find that?
Thank you, mighty Patron! Lady Evagrey is… quite a catch…
Did you go full-on scarification?
Although the twins start off with very similar scenes, their individual personalities are drawn out as the story progresses. The Lady is, how can we say, more ambitious!
The most important thing is to kill Coireal. Did you do this? (This is important for me to know when checking bugs as I am working on the Basilisk path this and next month.)
Where do I find and kill him?
She is the Siren, the blue-skinned girl you have to hunt down outside of the crawler. Or, if you fail this when you are back in the crawler you can hunt for her in there.
Thanks, but the one I am trying to do is join the Basilisk Cult while learning the ropes as a assinged job for the Ash Crawlers
Like this
Will check this out- brb.
Okay, the checks for this are putting on the bask helm or having a reputation of 50 or above with the Baskilisk supporters.
When you are first an engine mate you should join the weird bunch and take the cogs. This sets your rep at 50. You probably did something which lowered your rep.
As the surest path to follow the Basilisk is through being an engine mate, I think I have set the rep too low. I will change it so when you take the cogs from the weird group you get 75 rep with the Basilisk supporters and this will ensure you pass more pro-basilisk checks. I will update it shortly.
The Basilisk types are very binary, with little wiggle room, much less than the royalists and rebels. Try to support them when you can by not aiding the other groups.
EDIT: Updated. If you join the weird group of engine mates, you now get a higher starting rep with the Basilisk supporters,
As of I know, two ways for the MC to Follow the Basilisk are Engine Mate or Desk Dispatch (If MC impresses or insults the nobles). That gives me an idea, you should add more ways for different jobs, most especialy the Ash Marine and Etherneer. Firstly, why does the MC not become a Bastion Knight while being an Agent of the Basilisk, maybe the MC can fake their allegiances to the Royalists with the true allegiances being to the Basilisk, as for Etherneer, I think this might be the most compatible, with MC’s Ether-Touched Magic, Darkness Magic (If MC decides to pursue that), and also being an Agent of the Basilisk
Great suggestions, I may add some crossovers at a later that although I will think carefully about it. The MC is only on the crawler for a number of months. I feel it is impractical to gain such a deep influence in several factions, in such a vast place, in that time.
The game is designed for multiple playthroughs and I hope to provide opportunities where each playthrough, even on the same ‘paths,’ can be different based on jobs and skills. In my imagination, I love the idea of players comparing their playthroughs and wondering how some achieved different outcomes and wanting to play again to explore this.
The Basilisk does not have a large influence within the Ash Marines, although can influence them by means of interfering with weapons and vehicles. The command and discipline structure of the Marines relies too much on patronage and is monitored too closely for them to have gained an influence yet. At the time of the revolution, the Basilisk has not infiltered the ranks of nobles, although it has infiltrated various ‘expert’ advisory committees and councils. But I will think more deeply about this suggestion.
The Basilisk is an engineer cult which wishes to gain power in the age of industrialisation. They are not warriors but ‘influencers’ and ‘planners.’ This makes Engine Mates a good candidate. Also, it means they are very interested it gaining influence through the Dispatchers as they deal with the upper echelons. But they only have a marginal influence with the Dispatchers through Avalina.
They despise the ether and see it as a relic of old, failed gods. They despise demonic forces for the same reason. These things are sign of weakness showing a lack of ingenuity. After all, the might of railways and technology has allowed Behatlanders to press into Zthullu, something that even the most powerful magic-users were unable to do.
Basilisk cultist believe they are paving the way for a utopia of logic, order and machines, without want or war. They see themselves as doing good and the Basilisk as an improvement on the idea of godhood.
Cheers for the ideas as always mate. I will list them and come back to them when I have Book 1 in the later stages of development. Can’t get too side-tracked with so much to do as changes like this could be extensive!
EDIT:
I am fearing an overload of complexity. The Fort Ard revolution scenes were so tricky to put together, although the aftermath will simply things for me as the focus will shift away from daily crawler life and not be as dependent on old variables.
