To be fair there isn’t really anything new to anything other than setting. Most ideas have been played out in one setting or another. It can be told in a unique way but no ideas are really original in things such as this.
Right, nothing new under the sun. Shakespeare was famous for using stories he got elsewhere.
One possible unique aspect for the soldier class is their combat utility uniform and individual issue equipment. If they recently deployed they would have the Army’s new multi-cam based camouflage. That uniform would be impregnated with insect repellent, fire resistant, and have a pretty decent pattern to break up a silhouette. They would also a gas mask, tactical vest, fire resistant gloves, ballistic eye protection and helmet. The Kevlar in the vest and helmet could slow or stop some small size, low velocity impacts like shrapnel, shotgun pellets, and potentially 9mm pistol rounds at 15 feet or greater distances. They wouldn’t have their service weapon (in the armory) or the SAPI bullet proof plate (turned back in after deployment). The material of the uniform itself is resilient and good for working outdoors and resisting scrapes and bruises, while preventing sunburn and not overly stifling in the heat. The multi-cam uniform wouldn’t be the same as the one worn to the meeting since I think ACUs are still the required uniform of the day for most units. The camouflage itself would be most effective when the wearer is still and is backdropped by vegetation. Just some things to consider.
Actually depending on how you play TWD season 2 clementine could turn out to be extremely ruthless.
Not really though, I’ve seen all 5 endings and I mean you can make her somewhat ruthless but only to an extent. From what I’ve seen in ZE 2, you can make your nephew a cold-blooded son of a B. But then again TWD is pretty linear. If you could make Clementine like pure heartless survivalist, the story would change completely.
Just played through most of the characters. Keep working man this is going to be great.
Well that is true but many of the decisions you can make are pretty ruthless.
Do you have definite release date yet and have you decided on a price or is it going to be like zombie Exodus with the first few chapters free and the other chapter paid for
@Coold00d12 @killnsin I own Telltale’s TWD but have not played past chapter 2. I don’t want to be influenced by the game in any way. As far as the nephew in ZESH, I am letting your actions change his outlook on the world and therefore, his later actions.
@cascat07 i have to be careful about giving certain professions unbalanced advantages at the start. I do like the idea of rewarding a player with that uniform through a mission.
@iElite1023 thanks!
@Ravenrebirth no release date yet. I will be putting up a poll so people can vote on issues such as pricing and selling it as one app vs. parts. I have a few ideas:
- Release it as one app in 12 chapters for a fixed price in late 2016.
- Release the prologue and chapters 1-4 in an app for $3 in late 2015. Updates after that would be every 6 months, 4 additional chapters for $2. Each chapter is around 65k words, so each part would be 250-300k words.
- Release the prologue and chapters 1-5 for $6 in late 2015. Updates would be every 2-3 months, 2 chapters at a time for free.
I also have to discuss pricing with CoG. They may like/dislike some of these pricing options.
Makes sense. Its easy to explain. Lots of military guy and gals leave their kit at work.
IMO you should do the 2nd option, release it in 3 parts, benefits are
1: some people may think the price is too high to pay all at once.
2: you already have a fan base so giving us sooner and something to look
forward to is good.
3: it will keep money coming in as you work and you should end up making
more.
The telltale TWD game is heavily over rated imo. It’s basically just a TV show with slight variations in who shows up where depending on your choices. None of your choices really matter, and you’re generally encouraged not to get attached to characters at all because they get killed off so quickly and frequently regardless of your choices.
Thank you for the reply and the second option sounds very nice thank you
Actually that’s the problem. The story us not based on the book. The game is basically a spin off / side story to the book with a totally different story that runs along side the book’s story and barely has any of the characters from the book in it.
Actually they are about to do a mini series for Season 2 of 3 episodes focusing on Michrone, one of the book characters. But as you say TWD Telltale’s game is mostly its own story, I actually prefer it that way.
@cascat07 great. You seem to know about the military, so feel free to call me on anything you see that doesn’t make sense or can be tweaked to be more realistic.
@jcury I like to release in parts but worry some people may not like to pay for an app of this kind AND pay for IAP. So it comes down to appealing to a core group of readers and not pissing off a broader market.
Hey Jim I have a problem with this game sometimes my browser will close out of the game and then I can’t get back to where I was I was wondering if you could impliment a save option so that when this happens I can get back to where I was.
@adamthecowdog Coincidentally, here’s what I’m adding in the next update (7/6)
- Crafting system.
- More scavenging.
- Save system!
Since the save system’s in bold! I assume you are more excited by that?
Also the game ends JUST before you can go into the 3rd floor of the building, as it makes you leave sometime in the second floor. And I REALLY want to know what’s in the Safe
@JimD But will you not lose more potential business if it was in one
part and cost $7.99?
Of course i never sold anything on the app store so i have no idea what
are the statistics.
