Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven -- set for release 10/28/16

I haven’t decided for or against other zombies but I have a way to introduce alternate forms. If you read the scientist prologue, there are some ideas floating in the words. @WolfieGrey is on the right track

I tend to like The Walking Dead zombies over Resident Evil or more (sorry Shoelip) fantastical zombies. On the spectrum of 1 (TWD) to 10 (RE), I am a 2 or 3.

@NJG Devlin is an infected human who didn’t turn though maybe his bad attitude was a sign of something.

@Nathan_Faxon

I think that’s fixed. I can’t find an error, but I may have fixed it long ago and never uploaded the revised version.

@Bugreporter I fixed some of these already and will work on the rest.

As for pricing, I just spent time tearing apart chapters 1 and 2 to rewrite a lot of it, so I am have to figure out where all this is going. My plan is still to publish 5-6 chapters at once but will have to discuss with the Powers-That-Be™ what they are willing to do.

Hey … umm … Is there any way to save Jonah? (I play as a teenager girl)
Cause if he is the MC’s friend since kindergarten, having him die without beingmentioned ever again sound really harsh.

I had these feelings too. And my MC didn’t show an ounce of emotion after watching their closest friend motored and mauled to death.

In these profession tales and the dates, there should be at least one person you should have the chance to save and they appear as an NPC later on (I would like them to be survivors for your haven, but that would put too much strain on @JimD to write and code in each individual personality and scenes). It’s all wishful thinking for now.

There is, yeah, but I think you need to reach them in time.

I played a cop with combat and athletic skills.

I have a problem with this paragraph:

“Why are you telling her this?” Jillian says and walks toward the pile of gear you collected. “Let’s just take her gear and go.”

If we have a profession like a soldier or bank robber, or even somebody with a gun I think Jillian shouldn’t be so confident to take our gear unless she’s very dense, which she’s proved she definitely isn’t. If we have a gun or high combat related skills, she would more likely will try to convince Lyle to just leave because if she came over to grab my gear after they exposed their true intentions my MC would most likely hold them at gunpoint.

If we have low combat skills, an average profession or no firearm this paragraph works well.

Another thought. On the second day if Jill and Lyle leave before you wake, will we discover them later? Alive and well or even their corpses?

My athletic skills are level 4 and close combat is also 4 persuasion and cooking are 3 so my these combat skills are fine (right?)
still I don’t get any option to save him

I also think that the MC’s father have a high possibility of being alive and coming back (since the guy who answer the mother’s phone never mentioned a dead man’s body being near the mother’s corpse if it was the mother in the first place)

Since they were on vacation and all transport is closed off, there’s no chance we will know. I think all family connections are severed in this game unless you do the dependant child challenge.

Hmm, I thought that the went to a place close to home that could be reached easily if driving car or sone thing somewhere in the same state … This is one of my favorite WIPs
right now but what bothered my was the fact that the apocalypse and raiders attacks happened in day 1 but I’m glad it’s being fixed … I’d hate to see a cool storie/game like this mess up something like this, I even like this one more than the first (this one has more content put into it)

Did anybody play state of decay?
The zombies in it are damn scary and really hard to get rid of since they always stay as a horde rather that come at you alone and they
don’t walk or run like a drunk paralyzed idiot and what scares me themost is the big fat one (the dude destroyed 3 of my cars for heaven’s sake he can’t be steped on by a car I don’t think that even a military vehicle could hurt him) and the normal ones are all runners and can climb walls so they are hard to get away from

So I was playing as a hacker and met my contact…

“I didn’t want to get involved in this stuff but Jason showed me these documents, and I just couldn’t turn away. It’s too important. I’ve seen reports I can’t un-see.”

“Who’s Jason?” you ask.

“Sorry, he’s a guy I met. We were dating… well one date.”

And her name was Julieanne… So she was never killed? What on earth happened to her finger? This cameo has my mind racing.

I can kill the Juggernauts and Ferals in that game without taking any damage. The only hard thing about that game is how buggy it can be.

Yeah I feel ya …
Juggernaut only caused me problems when I was running away from a horde and when I encountered it for the first tome and the feral when I was in a house full of zombies but the
bugs were always the death of me

@WhiteLynx no way to save him but I do like the idea of adding more emotion from the impact of such events as @Nathan_Faxon said.

I do have a check for that later but maybe I should do it earlier. Basically, after they threaten to steal your stuff, I check to see if Lyle thinks staying is better for their survival or not. Jillian is also fairly overconfident, so I think she would not be afraid unless a weapon is on her.

You will learn all eventually :stuck_out_tongue:

Could we later on in the game make a prison as our safe haven? or even a castle.
Like having 2 different locations in each city we start in would be enough (I guess?)

Is every romance option going to be available for a teenager character, or are you going to limit it because they are underage?
Cause I don’t think thatthe law matters in the apocalypse…

OH OH. if she becomes a recurring character I will squeal! And you’re right in some situations she is over-confident, like how she shot Driver point blank, I was just doubtful she would be confident where there was a massive chance she would lose her life. At least with driver, he was distracted and the MC was fully alert of the dangers.

@WhiteLynx I’m sure the age of sexual consent is 16 in America and UK, and the teenager will be aged around 16 to 17. Yes you’re right, law is no longer valid in the apocalypse but people reading the game may take offense to underage romances as there is no doubt every romance will have sexual content.

So I think the teenager will be hinted to be 16 or older, just to play it safe.

I am sure it’s alright for a teenager to date someone who is not older than 30 ( cause when I was 16(last year) I dated someone who was 21 so it was alright with Rme (it was my first time dating anyway) but an older person ( around 31or older might not be a good idea) but our parents forced us to
breakup

I understand that, age gaps won’t matter in ZESH, I think we’d be more concerned if our MC was underage and having sexual relations. The whole game can then be deemed as you know what then.

But 16 year old dating let’s say a 25 year old in an apocalypse environment is totally cool with me. In fact it would be interesting to see other survivors in your safe haven react to it.

Age of consent in the US varies by state. For Colorado, where the game takes place, it is 17.
