If I recall, Lopez will go for Tommy first if he’s available, and I think the Kevin/Madison thing is a one-sided crush (for now)?
I think it depends on what weapons you use. You need to use weapons that can actually fire automatically such as the mp5, m4 carbine and the LAR gun to choose the supressive fire option. (Check some weapon description when you obtain them, if they said they can only shoot semi automatically, such as the AR-15 and Arsenal Ak, you WON’T be able to give supressive fire)
As long as I know that Bailey and Brody ,Parker and Dante/Kelly (I’m not sure Parker like Dante or Kelly but I’m sure Kelly like Parker ),Lopez and Tommy if you don’t romance with him ,Kevin and Madison , Reilly and Laurel in future.
Parker isn’t an RO, at least not at this point - he’s still hoping to reunite with his boyfriend, although he can’t help finding Dante hot. I don’t think Kelly’s his type.
@AletheiaKnights But Kelly and Dante is RO,I’m very sure that Kelly like him very much (well…consider base on her reaction) .but Dante doesn’t mention about it yet.so,Parker has change that he will develop relationship with Kelly/Dante
Do characters actually cheat on each other during active relationship?
I just need to know to be prepared, will probably kokblock them or murder them
Kelly is a very good friend and motivator for Parker. Furthermore, I think she’s way too young for him anyway.
If I remember correctly that Bailey will cheat on Brody If Mc romance with her.she will date both of you,but I 'm not sure if MC date with her first
Wow way to go bailey lol
Joke aside really can’t wait to play the book 4 on 2025 after seeing the thread alive again with discussion
@JimD
Bug in chapter 12.
When preparing to go to the Silverthornes camp, my MC suggested having Allison have a look at Rachel when she fell ill, but Rachel didn’t let Allison and August join our group.
You look like you’re going to fall down at any moment. Maybe we could have that new girl, Allison, take a look at you," you say.
Are the checkpoints working for everybody? When I try to use it, my stat screen changes to when it was saved, but that’s all and even that changes back if I leave the stat screen. This in the android app.
I have noticed that Apple and Android have not released the update yet. I will check up on it, but I can confirm checkpoints are available in Steam.
Just replayed the game a few more times-- checkpoints are great and definitely help, especially for people like me who have seen 95% of the game so far and want to 1) see the other 5% in the final parts of the game, and 2) have a bunch of saves ready for P4
doubly so for playing an intentionally bad run but where I dont want to actually die, just screw things up bigly
overall, great feature added. esp for such a long game
also, @Zaya27477 quite a late answer but if you’re still interested, I think the way to poison Keith is to have high stealth, bring cyanide.
Dont recall exact steps but peacefully getting in, get info on where Keith is from Thelma or Barkeep (without getting drunk yourself), search the bar and then should be an option to posion him. If you have no cyanide you use less effective rat poison
The only giveaway it worked is a cough (if you actually talk to him then he coughs more), but it is tracked in code.
P sure this only poisons Keith and not whole camp, but there’s a bunch of other ways to ruin their day
Alternatively can attack him at the tower and use a poison gas bomb
Had to check something I apparently wrote like half a decade ago as a guide to this fight, but pretty sure the only prereq for Suppressive Fire is having a full-auto gun equipped.
So I’m current on the fence regarding Goodman (New Army) vs Faulkner (Vanguards) conflict
Facts against New Army (Goodman Group):
-Goodman did lie about Faulkner death
-When asked about the Government he says they couldn’t reach Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs, High chain of command, etc. but later some of them are proven to be active due the TV press conference
-They attack Fern house, but maybe she attacked first, cause she comments people on uniformed tried to rob her once, so if she saw a group of soldiers with camo and rifles, knocking on her door… wouldn’t be far fetched that she freaked out.
Facts against Vanguards - Faulkner Group (most speculation, but some solid info too):
-Lopez holds somewhat of a high opinion regarding Goodman, saying he values military discipline, and would punish White, Croston, Leflur for going AWOL (fleeing the fight against infected and stealing supplies)
-During a call you can heard Goodman talking about distributing water to survivors
-SAM (AI robot at the depot): he is connected to the government servers or some stuff like that. When asked about the New Army, they say Col. Goodman was promoted to Chief of Staff, meaning that he got his promotion was handled by official channels somehow right? (Since its on a official government databse linked with the Lancelot AI)
To such info be there, kinda goes against what Faulkner claims, about Goodman staging a “coup” against him and killing commanders who disagreed, etc. SAM also quotes that Faulkner commited treason, but doesn’t elaborate (that could be killing team mates, feeling from combat, stealing supplies, etc). Faulkner also goes silent for far too long, while having the means to contact/call us, kinda sus if you ask me.
-Faulkner orders you to stay home, White who is going AWOL its sus of us doing the same dude we being at home and not deployed, she tries to point/hint her sus as a way for MC not stand against her goal of taking Lopez back. It’s implied later that Lopez was under Goodman command at Day 0, Day 1 I think. That means Goodman tried to put a fight and then pull out. White didn’t want to stay and go through with Goodman orders, so she wanted to leave with supplies, Lopez wasn’t okay with that and was going to report to Goodman, and for that was labeled as deserter/bad guy by White. So see the comparisson? How Lopez fits more with Goodman, while Faulkner fits more with White? I think maybe MC is catch in the middle of some similar shit between the two Colonels.
-When MC calls Faulkner to ask for help in dealing with New Army forces coming to Lancelot, takes persuasion checks to get slighty help out of him… The impression I got is that he is not willing to help MC and hints about being affraid of the fight. Cause he also says something like: “My advice is for you to leave the area like I did…” so what if his talk of the vanguards being the first to fight the infected its all BS and he is a kinda of a “coward” who “withdraw” with his men on day 0 all allong? Would explain him not calling MC after some hours like he told he would.
So, I’m guessing, what if Faulkner didn’t follow orders and decided to went rogue/AWOL like White, the chick who tried to kill Lopez? As far we know, maybe he tried to do what he acuses Goodman of doing. What if Goodman reacted by executing defectors? Lopez kinda says he would do that to Whitehall group. And remember, White doesn’t comes guns blazing towards MC and tries to deceive us about Lopez being a deserter… so I don’t trust 100% Faulkner either
About Goodman lying about Faulkner death, it’s kinda plausible that he isn’t comfortable of disclosing bad info regarding Faulkner to MC, cause both of them being close, i mean, would you do that to someone you want to work with? shit in their former boss/commanding officer? its a risk. Something that mayne he wasn’t willing to take.
Silverthornes also when asked about New Army, doesn’t call them lotters/raiders, competion, something that Faulkner acuses them of doing, kinda weird the Silverthornes not being aware of that, due the way they behave/handle the outbreak.
Another thing that makes believe Faulkner was gone AWOL is: He also doesn’t care about the title of colonel anymore, since he tells that to MC. Faulkner going AWOL on day 0 would explain, why Goodman would receive a field promotion, going from Major to Colonel, since the position would be vacant. Faulkner says he did a lot of heavy lifthing while the chain of command was dying all around and getting fragmented. But on the system network at Lancelot, the records points to Goodman getting a promotion and Faulkner being guilty of treason. For that being on a official government databse, it means someone put that there, probably when theres still more ppl working on it, that means more early in the Outbreak, Day 0 or Day 1 at most. So what Faulkner said to MC, must be taken with a grain of salt I think, since none of the ppl who could vouche for him can verify that info, the Secretary of Defense for example is dead already.
Another interesting detail, all speculation on my part, is how Safe Haven Lancelot was kinda of a black site of sorts for Zeta Virus research, prior to the Outbreak. Maybe Faulkner isn’t willing to cover up the military involvement, while Goodman is, kinda would explain why the New Army got Deter secured in “custody”, LEGIT hackers got intel linking them with the virus. And Goodman seems to care a lot about patriotism according with Lopez, so I can see him and Deter not getting allong. And would further explain why Faulkner doesn’t believe in the Military anymore. Someone also was trying to cover up the military involvement regarding Zeta, since in the research center where Murphy its hiding, the computers are filled with bullet holes, could be either Vanguards or New Army, I mean someone its doing that, and the leadership of both groups knew about Safe Haven Lancelot, a place that was producing Zeta way before the Outbreak.
Sorry, I know, lots of text, but thats it lol
When @JimD puts a mistery between more than one character in one of his games and releases bits of information through each part
Kinda awakes the Sherlock in me and I write a lot
Let me know what you all think about my theory. Current sus of both characters intentions towards MC here.
Maybe this is just me, but what is the main difference between the humanity stat and morality stat? I’ve been playing this game for years and still have no clue
Morality is a measure of a character’s ethical compass, reflecting their choices between good and evil. This statistic rises when players act with kindness and integrity, demonstrating compassion and respect towards others. On the other hand, it decreases when players make choices that harm, deceive, or negatively impact other characters. Morality is more of an active stat, meaning that your choices make it go up or down.
Humanity gauges a character’s connection to their own human essence. This stat increases when characters perform altruistic acts, showing empathy and selflessness. It decreases in response to exposure to inhumanity, such as witnessing traumatic events, enduring horror, or grappling with mental health challenges. Humanity is more of a passive stat, in that things you witness will make it go up or down.
First off, I LOVE the work you did on this, and it helped me appreciate the world and both characters more. Just to try and contribute, though, I will offer an adjustment.
I don’t see Faulkner as having gone AWOL, certainly not in his own eyes, at least. As you said, Faulkner’s approach was to go home and start preparing. And when you talk to him in the haven, he’s a little too willing to not talk about what’s going on, and the first thing he seems to care about is how the MC is doing. I think he just might be too soft, not wanting to burden or endanger subordinates, but also not willing to take the necessary hills. When panic broke out, he didn’t run away, more just ordered a retreat and regroup. After all, the havens exist for this very reason right?
Goodman, on the other hand, saw chaos and chose to confront it. Now, we definitely see that Goodman is willing to manipulate, but let’s say (for devil’s advocacy) he’s just a duty-minded major whose colonel up and disappeared when shit got real? He could have genuinely thought Faulkner dead, or just considered him dead if he deserted. Either way, he’s not around, might as well be dead, and left a lot of necessary resources (supplies and people) scattered to the winds. Can you blame him for trying to get everything consolidated under his own control?
I’ll admit that as I read your thoughts and looked for my own angles, I did find myself aligning more with Goodman, and Lopez having been under him definitely helped. I suspect we’ll meet someone loyal to Faulkner, too, and it could end up as a difficult situation if each think the other’s commander a traitor of some kind.
So I’ve recently gone on a Zombie Exodus kick having replayed the first and second games over the last couple weeks. I was hoping to get some insight as to how to romance Lopez. Sorry if this is a longer post, just wanted to be specific. I know you have to have a higher relationship with him and a good Persuasion skill if you play a female, however I’m still having difficulty charming him.
The first time I tried romancing Lopez, I got a question in Part 2 about who I was interested in romantically. I had been trying (unsuccessfully) to get into Lopez’s good graces, so I was surprised when after I selected the option saying I was interested in Lopez, suddenly he was in my apartment saying he had a surprise for me- a threesome with Jaimie, who I had expressed no romantic interest in. I decided to go with it to see what happened, but the relationship remained very shallow from my opinion.
Then a couple days ago I decided to start a new character from a different background and skipped ahead to Part 2 because that’s where things get real juicy. I selected Lopez as my primary interest, because why not, and chose to make everyone’s relationships good, because again, why not. Suddenly Lopez is making out with my PC before the Hill Battle, telling the PC to call him Cristian, and even telling my PC when she saw him looking at Jaimie that “three’s a crowd” and that he’s only interested in her, which had been decidedly NOT the case previously.
Is there some sort of career you can take in the beginning of the game to get close to Lopez early? I’d like to start from the beginning and see how that works out, because at the moment I’m just confused and not sure what I was doing wrong.
Did you kill Cowboy/White/Croston? Doing that substantially increases your relationship with him. Not sure if there is an actual stat bonus for it, but in text, he responds better to fellow soldiers.
You also need high persuasion (I think Level 3 is the min. Could be higher) if you’re a girl. If you play as a guy you don’t need any persuasion.
Are you playing as a girl?
