I have always been amused by the fact you can amass large arsenals of guns and ammo to defend yourself in Zombie games, but when you really think about it a handfull of people in late medieval plate armour with melee weapons would probably decimate even large groups of zombies with barely any risk. Fairly hard to get bitten or infected when you’re covered head to toe in layered steel, chainmail, and padded under armour. Plus the added benefit is medieval weapons had a plethora of types of which their entire purpose was to bash in the heads of people wearing said armour. Not sure how a zombie would fare.
Humans though, bullets hurt.

Wouldn’t it be hot as hell though? And if there are too many zombies piling on you then you might be knocked over and get crushed under the weight of the zombie horde

Plate armor is not something that most people have easy access to in the modern age (in fairness, full plate wasn’t something most people had access to even when it was more frequently used), and I second the person who said that plate armor was not a good defense against a crowd of bodies rushing the armored person and intending to down them (whether the bodies are alive or dead. Then again getting up close with zombies is risky in itself). While I agree with you on blunt weapons, ZESH certainly includes many of those (and indeed, you can use the butt of the gun as a blunt weapon if need be, but I haven’t seen that in ZESH yet) and they get used to deadly effect on zombies.

I rememeber my character used the butt of a gun to capture one of the silverthrone people in the second chapter.

I remember seeing a bit on the Discovery Channel where they used Stormtrooper armor to protect against shark bites since chain mail is so heavy. Honestly, the human bite force isn’t even that powerful. You could get away with leather armor for a fraction of the weight. Cosplayers would be decked out, lol.

Hey, how you doing @JimD. Been a long time since I was active here but I came back just for ZESH. I’m telling you man, Zombie Exodus and ZESH are still two of my most favorite interactive fictions ever.
Anyway I don’t know if it’s a bug or something, but even though I always get the birth control pills for Jillian, in the end she always tells me she’s pregnant. Is that a bug or are both my teen and college MCs that powerful that not even contraceptives could stop them? Lol

Not sure how I feel about this. It jumped into a whole different story rather quickly, Kevin being kidnapped before you even get back by randos over drugs, a native American enclave of survivors popping up randomly down the street all of a sudden talking about tornadoes and somehow it’s talked about casually like all of this was common knowledge beforehand and also Lopez going from a rather quiet bi/homosexual guy to a drooling over a lady just feels wrong.

Thanks for your comments. I wanted to keep the pace pushed to the limit for now, but chapter 14 goes back to a quieter time for the main character. Some of this is also tying up some storylines from before. If you played as a character in the country setting, the Dee and Cliff Payne are introduced in Part 1. So there is history with the main character. This is also a way to bring in the Southern Ute that Woody talks about often in Part 1.
As for Lopez, I see him as a flirt, but it may be that I need to drop his statement if it’s too out of character.

I think it’s a little out of character considering he was only bi if you have a high relationship stat and or persuasion as a female MC. Could just be me though

On the topic of lopez’s sexuality, i think it would be interesting if female mc is the first woman he likes and make him realize he’s bi kinda like woody with a male mc since in his side story he refer to himself as gay and it’s a bit awkward for me and probably other people who play a female mc to romance him. Just add a comment from him that we are the first woman he’s been into would be nice and add a bit more to his character i think

He’s more overt if PC is male–he does ask male PC if he and Jaime are in a relationship, but if PC is female (or nonbinary, I think) then he’s fairly professional in their first possible encounter when both of them are hale and hearty in Part 1. Aside from that, his flirtatious personality when he’s a non-romanced NPC seems like an informed attribute: PC is possibly informed about him and Jaime by the Nephew, and possibly him and Tommy too. PC can also witness three possible Lopez/Tommy interactions: Lopez possibly saving Tommy in the hillside battle, Lopez comforting Tommy on the hilltop, and them dancing with each other at the Prom (possibly? I’m not sure). rather than a character trait.

Just a quick note that the Part 4 public beta has been updated. This version includes 240,000+ words.
It includes a lot of placeholders for future missions and events, below wanted to show a framework for the rest of the chapter.
Yes, this is something you will be able to ask them eventually. I may even go back and allow you to ask them in an earlier part.
