Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 3 - releasing 3/3/2022

I thought this too. Are they all from the start of the game or different people

Question. Why does the game imply Kelly has been kidnapped if u pick the path when she hasn’t?

I was trippin when the neighbours showed up, i thought sean forgot all about the friendship we fostered on the first days

I got that too, i selected that kelly wasn’t taken but the game said she was, i got confused when parker asked if we were going to get kelly back or not so i just assumed that i pressed the wrong option. Worked fine before the update tho.

I really like the quantity and quality of interaction between Madison and Reilly in the Agricultural Research Center mission, highlighting their personality and bringing a lively feel to our merry little community. Would like to see more missions like this in the future

Yeah it would be interesting to see more inetractions between the other survivors. I just hope they become more like friends and not enemies. I would hate to have to pick sides between the survivors. Madison is my favourite character so id probably just take her side anyway lol.

Me too. The same exact thing happened.

And @JimD I would love it if we could influence the relationships going positive or negative between characters, especially who make up each couple!

@JimD:
Would it make sense to auto-assign jobs and projects to people who skip to Chapter 9? It seems kinda weird to just get this report that says we did nothing for the last three days… Even worse, it looks like we’re automatically out of food, which I’m assuming we wouldn’t be if we’d come in from Chapter 8 with a lot of people assigned to looking for food.

Also, notes from the trainyard:

When talking to the people at the trainyard, they can mention that a teen or student is too young to be out on their own; while the responses seem fine for a teen, surely a college student would be able to reply that they are an adult?

Typos:

“We have an adult with us. She’s right outside camp.”}
“Me don’t need supervision. Young adults today are very capable people.”

John dances closer to Eric, who shoves him away. John stops dancing and says to your group, “I saw one in the next train yard outside the terminal in a pile of junk. Listen, if I hear music, I’m crashing your prom. You have any eligible singles in your camp?”

I never said it was a prom; from the code, it looks like Brody or Madison will call it a prom, but the MC doesn’t use the word if they’re on their own.

From the code:

    *if lewis_alive
      *set lewis_alive false
      [text]
    *if not(lewis_alive)
      *set john_alive false

I assume this is only supposed to kill either Lewis or John, but the way it’s currently written, it will kill them both.

That’s a good idea. I will see about implementing it.

Thanks. I will add them.

Do you have a screenshot of this or a part where it says it? It’s much easier for me to find it, if I can search for a specific section of the text.

Thank you. I’m hoping to do more missions like this while varying who goes. I’d like to see a mission next with Billie and Jamie.

That’s definitely my plan. I am going to write very lengthy conversations with each main NPC that can be done hopefully during each chapter. That would be a good opportunity to influence them.

Yes, that’s a great idea. I actually thought I did that at one point, but I must overlooked it.

Hoping to see Jillian one day

Is Jamie actually a real character and not a typo of Jaime?

I looked into the Kelly stuff. It looks like the variable kelly_join is automatically set to false in _test_start under the label StartingGear, which looks like it really shouldn’t be there. It also charges her relationship stat, but that’s more minor.

Also, slightly related, when you’re first talking to Parker at the start of Chapter 9, the text for if Kelly’s not on the team automatically assumes she was captured, and not killed (“He’s mad that we’re wasting time and not going after Kelly.”) I forget if it’s possible for Kelly to die in Part 2, but there are options for her having died elsewhere in the chapter, so there should probably be one here, too.

Does leaving the scientist guy tied up, equate to killing him? I don’t want to kill him though…

Being tied up in an open place without any survival skill during a zombie outbreak isn’t equal killing them, right ?

I use speech to text to write and my software misspelled his name. I finally caught it and have to upload the fixes.

I can add that option.

Thanks for looking into this.

Yes. There’s no one else in the facility. Eventually he will starve to death.

How old are Teenager MCs and College Student MCs? The wikipedia for the game says they’re 15 or 16. Confirmed by you but I dunno. The wiki doesn’t seem too trustworthy considering :

As a Teenager we can still romance Jillian, and Kelly, and even (but to a much lesser extent) Rachel. Plus that very same wiki says you confirmed the College student as a young 20 year old individual. Yet Reilly insists on calling the MC “Kid” Regardless. Personally, I think either the Teenager MC is 18 or due to the apocalypse. Age doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t know… Please help me understand

Maybe allow us to finally set an age for our characters? That seems cool

It when u start a new game on beta in both chapters.

I had the same question about Kelly when I played a teenage MC. As for Jillian, I doubt she would care even if it’s not apocalypse

Like wolfmarelalala posted above Jillian is Jillian she wouldn’t care if you were 15 or 30 (just look at how old her old boyfriend is) if she can warp you around here finger (or any other body part) in order to survives shes going to, that just the sort of person she is, as for Kelly it could be her need for comfort and companionship, she also feels scared and alone (she probably feels like its the end of the world, and it kinda is), add to that a high relationship score and the fact that shes not that old (i think shes 24-25), and that could explain her deciding that your age doesn’t matter.
