Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven General Discussion (Part 3 beta coming in December)

Was Cain a mercenary pre-Zeta?

Yes, Cain was a captain in the army, then he became a mercenary before the apocalypse hit.

Is he a new MC? The three you’ve mentioned before are the college student, Dr. Monroe, and Scott Winters.

No, not really, I made him around the same time I made Dr. Monroe. Dr. Monroe just so happens to be the most morally bereft character I’ve created, so I talk about him more often.

Becoming the ultimate ruler of the rest of humanity, bringing a vaccine to the Z-Virus, building a city with his own hands, fighting and killing more zombies than anyone and getting the title of “Zombie Slayer”, being the most powerful person because he has enough weapons for a small army oh and being the symbol for rebuilding society. All in all I would say a God. An interesting and good ending I have to say.

Question for everyone: If your MC’s could all interact with each other in a single playthrough , which one’s would be friends with each other and which ones would be at each others throats ? Feel free to explain why your MC’s would or wouldn’t get along due to similar or dissimilar personalities, leadership styles, morals or lack there of.

My two military commanders, Jacob Lee and Alan Framley, would probably butt heads, but wouldn’t kill each other, and would probably cooperate eventually. Jacob is a Lawful Good idealist all the time (even sparing Jude), Alan is True Neutral–Neutral Good, more cynical, and more concerned about survival for everyone (and wonders what exactly came over him when he offered to trade with Jude instead of just sniping him).

My doctor MC, Shihyun Nam, would probably cede leadership to both of those two (he is not quite sure how he became leader in the first place). He’d want to research a vaccine for Zeta and become the first medic for the group. He and my nurse MC, Lilith Lane, would respect each other as medical professionals (and even as friends) and wouldn’t really fight regardless of their vastly differing worldviews. He would help Lilith deal with the death of her sister and her cat, and she would help him become more aware of the dangerous world around him. Lilith would probably trust Alan to manage the group better than Jacob, as Alan is more of a realist. Jacob would accept both of those two wholeheartedly. Alan would see Lilith as somewhat of a liability (Shihyun would be accepted as he is likable and transparent, while being a good doctor) but Lilith would earn his trust (because she sees him as more competent than Jacob, she wouldn’t act against him as much as she would Jacob). Lilith, Jacob, and Alan would probably bond over nephew stories after the initial rocky phase.

My teenager MC, Blair Chen, is not much of a leader (he didn’t get many votes in the election). He’d follow Jacob and/or Alan as long as they don’t harm Maddie or cause her to be harmed, and his contribution to the group would be his crafting knowledge (he was part of Chipper Ridge’s Science Olympiad team, and his dream job pre-Zeta was civil engineer). If they do hurt or kill Maddie or cause her to get hurt/killed, then he would seek revenge with a machete (or a kukri, or a LAR, etc.). He and Lilith would understand the feeling of living for one person (nephew for Lilith, Maddie for Blair), and would get along better because of that. He wouldn’t interact much with Shihyun unless he needed medical attention.

Anyone know how old the adult MCs are? Cuz I hate how difficult it is for teen and college mc to get good vote numbers for leadership

Specifically. How old is a PC if he/she isn’t a teen or college character? Cuz teen is 17 turning 18 and college is about 21

Typical ages for the profession is the way I think of the ages.

My doctor MC, who was a trauma surgeon (in my headcanon) with a definite position at the hospital pre-Zeta, is 36 (avg. age of trauma surgeons upon completing training) and is the oldest of my MCs. My military commanders are 29 (Jacob) and 31 (Alan), which is well within the typical age range of Army captains (military commander’s branch and rank in-game is US Army Captain). My nurse MC is the only odd one out at 30 (she is younger than the average RN).

Just so you know getting younger MC’s to be leader isn’t difficult if you make sure your leadership & persuasion skills are high enough.

After the pharmacy scavenging trip, we get to give everyone the things they asked for. Jillian is even ecstatic when we find her birth control pills (does she only ask for BC if she is in a relationship with male MC?). However, there is nothing depicting Rachel’s reaction to getting her chips (the only reaction from her is the happiness when MC, Jaime, and Jillian (Parker always remains at camp in my playthroughs) return with a full load of supplies. Even when Rachel is romanced, there is no reaction from her if MC got chips for her.

I really liked the fact that Jillian mentions birth control as one of the things she needs from the pharmacy. It adds a realistic touch, and makes sense, both for the character and for the setting.

It is as easy for a teen for an adult. If you don’t play with the correct skills is more your decision that a game balance error. I always get a UNANIMOUS vote for me as a teen. You go the charisma and the leadership and is exactly same

I’m late to the game but I just started this a couple days ago and I’m on chapter 3 very much avoiding spoilers but one thing I feel like I need to know. Can you keep your nephew alive until the end? I don’t think my heart can take it if he dies.

The game isn’t complete so that’s not something we are able to answer.

If he would die, I hope he would definitely die unlike dying by being converted in a zombie, that would be too horrible (though we are in the apocalypse so maybe it would be fitting)

It’s really interesting you can play a teenage alcoholic schizophrenic raising their nephew in a zombie apocalypse. Like at any point did our parents think " Maybe this isn’t such a good idea?"

Well it’s already possible for him to be killed in part 2 by a hoard of zombies depending on your choices. Not to mention the kid that died in the first zombie exodus.
