Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven General Discussion (Part 3 beta coming in December)

Not the first time, the first time I played a military commander with deluaisions, the dog and dependent child(didn’t even know there was an achivement). So during the hill while trying to save Nora(cause I knew Reilly would become a liability/threat without her) I couldn’t save doggo, so I said f**k it let’s rewind it.

Some people might say Reilly is already a liability even if Nora is currently living and not that entirely useful.

I believe that Reilly’s impulsiveness can be reduced or controlled ,if you have enough empathy, charisma and leadership .In the scene where the mc has the option to talk to all other survivors individually he does take our advice when we ask him to be cool headed , even if she just shrugs and says yeah ,he actually takes the advice. And my mc was a teen it still worked

To anyone saying Reilly is a liability. He is a liability IN BASE PLAYER CHOICES And that’s the key. 99% of my own experiences with my characters is him being supportive helping me out and defending me probably after Tommy and Madison most heavy supporters.

Why? Because I play as a raider focusing survival all cost and obtain stuff for group. If you are like that and pragmatic He is probably the best companion to have brave not problem gets hand dirty and even if he is passionate He trust you enough to obey you and is very respectful.

However in my case Jaime is a Pain in the ass to point physical restraint Mara for raiding and impede her attack some sniper trying to kill them and causing lost ALL the grocery loot and the lost of Parker insulin. With caused an uproar in all camp against WHY YOU DIDN’T GET ANYTHING AT ALL…

As I say a character behaviour and is good or bad all depends Player choices That’s the wonderful perfection this game has.

Just curious, have you done playthroughs with out being raider??True though Jamie is bit useless when it comes to important decisions, like in the store when pointed a gun was pointed at him by Ed’s friend. That cost the group few valuable survivors since Jamie’s leadership wasn’t trustworthy for them . And also in the case of Keith he accepts them as if they are friendly neighbors instead of assuming them as a threat. One of the reason why I become the leader in all my playthroughs.

Without joking looking my notes to private testing for Jim i have played this game COMPLETE without save about 400 times add to that alpha builds of game that weren’t complete … My own role-playing sessions and lately about 50 playthroughs in a month to write my fan fiction first part and 25 more so far in second part replay just to change few variables to get inspiration for the fan fiction.

I however here only talking about my role playing playthroughs as are the one I have fun with and add a story. But as tester you aren’t supposed to play only as you like you have play all and give options even in stuff you don’t like to polish and balance stuff.

So yeah I have played all options with and without challenges all options raider or heroe Romancing all except woody.

Yeah he sounds like a shady character doesn’t he? I’m only playing along with him for now to see what his game is. Once he proves to be some kinda threat to my group, I’ll end him

How do I pick which survivors are best suited between the Highway and Field teams during the hilltop battle?

Do you mean which survivors are the best fighters to have on one team or how to split the teams evenly ?

Which survivors are best for which team to ensure they don’t get killed?

In my experience and someone might feel differently about it but, putting the best survivors on a certain team didn’t actually matter in my playthrough. As long as you have an even amount of good fighters on both sides it didn’t matter who was specifically on which team. Also, the number of good fighters you have on each team isn’t the only factor to keeping them alive, the decisions you make when you or order people up the hill can cause people to die.

Letting them pick also works, after several playthroughs I just said “f**k it too many to go one by one”, the part that really matters is the hill though that’s where many live or die.

When I split the teams I just watch out to put nearly equal number of survivors with close combat weapons and ranged weapons in both teams also I try to put survivors like the twins or Kelly and Parker or Nora (if I let her fight in the first place) and Reilly (who would insist to be together) in the same team. Also I put Jaime and Rachel always in separate teams. If I watch out for these stuff it normally works well.

Honestly, when I didn’t try to save people everyone lived and when I did try to save people 2-3 people died. So, unless it’s a character, I really like, I don’t save them when we’re fighting on the hill.

@Cari-san I think it’s hilarious when Kelly & Parker ask to be together and say “they’re a great team when they’re with each other” and the group they’re going to be assigned to just role their eyes and give them this dirty look that says “yeah right”.

Lol. That’s true. Hence why I also put people like Lopez or Tommy in that team who are good fighters and don’t insist on being paired up with any of the other survivors. I’m doing this to avoid unnecessary conflict when there is no time to sort it out (Nora fighting or not is enough of that, it’s impossible to please everyone when I make that choice) also in a way it makes sense to me that survivors who know eachother has better chances to work as team than complete strangers would?

I keep getting Woody killed during the hilltop battle, Dante too. How do I save them?

If you keep making the same decisions, try doing something different, I don’t know what decisions you’re making so I can’t help you.
