Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven General Discussion (Part 3 beta coming in December)

I hope that is not the case as i will stop readingsomething so anti players choice right away.

How other groups WILL IN HELL know I am immune? They have a miracle ball that sings Macarena each time immune people happens to past there?

THERE IS NO WAY ON HEAVEN that those barely leaving rats groups could knowledge The DNA of anything and create a cure or analysis DNA Pc can because supposed special scientific knowledge -. The cure part and all that is pure suspension of belief that people that wants to cure applies because find funny find something like that interesting. It should be player choice.

I don’t want having to do anything with a cure with 90% characters I don’t want that in my game to point

Oh you didn’t invest in the cure? BAD ENDING FOR YOU Now you will a lab rat forever because you don’t play only way that is INVESTING IN THE CURE.

The side missions are Side missions. I don’t want be forced to be part of one by main plot. In moment of a main mission is forcing a storyline there is no choice anymore.
It should be ELECTED not FORCED If you investigate cure and you found gou are immune that should be your reward for that a extra ending.

If I give a shit investigation I want my end haven’t nothing to do with that and i wont be punished for not WANT that maybe I invested in create a city and that should be my ending.

Maybe other investment was killing all groups to become King of Nightfall area etc. .

Cure storyline should be part of cure story not forced like a biblical curse to playthrough that have zero to do with it.

At least that’s my opinion

  1. Why would you give information like that away to a group of strangers assuming they actually believe you? Let alone a hostile group of them ? That doesn’t seem like negotiating with them to me that seems like your just gambling your life by giving away powerful information to people who see you as a tool.

  2. If you did put all your cards on the table like that, who’s to say that they actually care about the cure, what if the group wants to weaponize the virus ? You just possibly gave them a stepping stone and if they’re a hostile group ,I don’t see you being in a position to not help them when you said you would, because they could easily make you help them by threatening to kill a group member or launch attacks on them if you don’t comply.Which would be your fault because you put them at risk by giving your enemies information of such a large magnitude.

  3. I can easily see your proposed bad ending happening because you or the player thought it was a good idea to just tell your enemies that you’re immune and that you assumed 1. that they’d be interested in finding a cure. 2. You thought you’d be able to lie to them about helping them or try to double cross them in aiding their research and they decide to just take as much blood from you as they want.

I never said that it was a good way of negotiating with hostiles, or even a position of power. But it is a way, if MC has little else to offer or is not charismatic/intimidating enough to sell a better lie. The bad end would indeed be fitting and well-deserved, if MC lacks the skill to escape the hostiles, or even in a friendly group if MC is not leader/has little else to offer beyond being a blood bag.
@poison_mara
It would be completely optional; there are probably many more ways to escape such dangerous situations, especially for the characters that you typically play as , and in most groups, the idea of a cure wouldn’t really come up until long after the current events of the game. Even the immunity theory wouldn’t come up for MCs with decent combat/athletic skills, as they wouldn’t come into contact with zombies.

I don’t want be immune if I didn’t invest in any of side missions. I think it should be a storyline that only people who win and working hard towards them should receive as recompense.

As If I don’t work towards that Feel i am CURE of mankind feels somehow cheap. I think those info should something player has to discover replaying.

Mara dream is find one of those fancy Political bunkers in the Cold war and some politicians still have privately. And live there several years until They could return surface and create a free smuggler casino City something like New Vegas. That doesn’t go well with being humanity hope lol.

Know Jim there would be a dozen or so endings very engaging. Maybe including FIND A PARTNER TO OUR PET

Well…some of you are thinking that MC is immune to virus…but unfortunately it’s not true. Jim has added a lots of game over. And some of them involves bites from z. We are not special anymore.
@Lithophene
Thanks for the proper explanation. You saved me from recreating the situation.

It would be cool to some people if the mc was immune but it kinds of takes away the suspense since if you get bite once you will turn but if my chacter was immune I would not worry.

You have to understand each character each background each game over is different and circumstances are far different from each background as all characters doesn’t exist in same plane reality.

For instance a Home maker could be a widow that is a artisan and is alcoholic due the mourning. That character could be not immune and die by a zombie in first part.

However characters that are dictors or invest heavily in finding a cure could mutate their dna through a vaccine or something like that and because of that be immune.
Only those characters from those alternative storyline are immune.

Meanwhile a Raider Teen could become a Queen of Wastes and a Military could Discover the secrets of Safe haven Lancelot . One reality doesn’t touching the other. And the fact a raider rule the wastes in my playthrough doesn’t mean others can’t be priests of a new religion.

CHOICES shape game and changes reality. So game overs doesn’t mean that one ending will be become immune.

Exactly as The Poisoned ending in first game Makes you a zombie dreaming the whole story in a laboratory. That’s not true to ALL characters is just an alternative storyline

I think Rachael has a cat(?)in her car…make them friends with your pet.

Right now no MC is immune…not a researcher, not a doctor, scientist, nurse…a single bite and it’s game over.
In part one is there any game over? I don’t remember or encounter any game over. Unless you are using a god MC…you might encounter a game over now not just get hurt and build up stress like part one. Obviously only pert 2.2 has game over…so it’s a dramatic change from trying to save others to trying to save MC.

Why She has a cat in a CAR? THAT’S TORTURE .CARS ARE TERRIBLY FOR CATS… POOR feline

I SWEAR RACHEL IF YOU HAVE A CAT JAILED I WILL SKIN YOU ALIVE … :sob: KITTY don’t worry no human will harm you again :hugs: Who could be so HEARTLESS to harm a sacred creature like a cat…

Now seriously if she does that she is dead. Cats suffering in cars due temperature changes and need lots of water and space and cars aren’t best.

If you go to fix the regulator with Jaime and Rachael after the king of the hill battle and talk to her, she might show you her pet . Though I don’t remember if you need high relationship or romance?

I WILL KILL HER I SWEAR I WILL KILL HER HOW SHE DARE? HOW SHE DARE? :gun: :gun:

I had a smooch scene in a car not see a wonderful kitten. She Is clever enough to know Mara will kill her in spot if She sees a cat in danger.

So that’s why she had cat treats… BASTARD why sheis so cruel hand cat to camp I can make it a litter and a wonderful cat nap place with his own blanket NOT A CAR :sob:

There are several games overs in part one like even more than in second part I have been eaten alive burn alive by my own cocktail Killed by submachine gun… Killed by sipher killed by White…

While there are lots of game overs, immunity would not prevent a zombie from eating you. :joy: Unfortunately, I don’t think there had been a moment until that scratch where the MC received an injury from a zombie and managed to walk away alive.

I don’t think it’s immunity, but it would be interesting if the virus actually fulfilled it’s intended purpose on the MC. If anything, it makes me think moreso of the virus in the Netflix show The Rain. The MC might become a carrier of the virus if they get scratched by that zombie. It is a variable that is being tracked.

I can only say this from memory of one specific game-over but, besides actually being eaten, the only “zombie bite” ending I can recall is the one in the farm house where your friends kill you, not the zombie bite. That might be true for a few other endings so it’s not completely unreasonable that the MC might be immune since I don’t remember them turning at any point.

I don’t remember either but that doesn’t mean anything as many zombie ones are being eaten alive or killed before turn. So we never seen our character as a zombie as game over don’t enter in time frame we could. A clever way do it if you ask me. That allows us to speculate and I love speculation.

Even I personaly prefer that character only is immune if is part of a side mission of the cure and that.

In the rest of situations it feels cheap as mara or Joe or my other character Doesn’t want a cure and give a shit humanity so is just not the story that suits them

I don’t mind the MC canonically being immune regardless of… anything, but it’s not an ending any of my MCs would be actively seeking or get involved in so if it goes unmentioned I wouldn’t be too bothered :man_shrugging:

It does, however, provide the setting for some intense endings depending on what the MC wants and how a cure is made so maybe I’ll have to make a character just for that :upside_down_face:

If You don’t want a cure Being immune is a shit situation. When notice spread and it will HORDES of groups will want slave you torture you jailed you and use your blood etc to investigate you most of them being barbaric All ends are WORSE THAN DEATH. So immunity is equally to suicide for my characters

If that’s the price I must pay for a wicked jailbreak segment with my crew then so be it!

Teach them to use those flaws to their advantage! Turn Woody into the ultimate human stinkbomb and drive your enemies out, or make Kelly use those doe eyes to lure the psychos elsewhere!
