Quick question about the base building aspect of the game as @Lithophene mentioned State of decay will their be building slots that allow for various type of structures or will it solely be based off of the amount of resources that your group has. As a follow up will the groups leadership structure become more fleshed out with more defined with their being an official second in command or a chief of security? As always please keep up the great work and I can’t wait to see what you come with next.

That is a great plan but, when do plans in this genre ever go the way they’re supposed to ? One way or another a good plan falls apart because of some unknown factor or someone does something to screw it up.

My problem with this base is that I still think it’s too close to civilization, and therefore possibly too close to other people. As much as I love the amount of crafting/building supplies the junkyard can give us, I really agree with Rachel and Woody’s idea to move into an isolated area, away from everyone else and since the Silverthornes know where the Junkyard is, it seems like an invitation for conflict.

I don’t know, assigning all these tasks and delegating and making decisions seems hard.

I’ll just get someone else to do it for me

I am dying to pass more time with my King of fluffy Titus I would encourage him to become the psychological health of the group WHO IS THE MOST AWESOME CREATURE IN EXISTENCE YOU ARE KITTY

I dunno, fighting them head-on is a stupid move considering their supposed numbers but with the abundance of scrap and wonky layouts of junkyards it would be pretty entertaining to take them out using only traps and whatever counts as “guerilla warfare”. We can even infect them with tetanus :man_shrugging: It’s certainly not my goal to take them out but there are many fun ways to muck around with them.

Both. You will need supplies for some things that exist outside of camp, like chickens for a chicken coup. And you will have so much space to build various structures.

Yes. So far, there is leader, cook, and quartermaster, but other roles will be defined.

You can delegate the delegating

How much you bet I will achieve that Jaime destroy everything due pure Hatred and complain… in the only build he is the leader as no one voted for Average Joe so he is determined to destroy Jaime to make suffer and even turn in a monster He stole Joe place as leader and is a hippie So JAIME HAS TO BREAK AND BURN

HATE AND ANARCHY

Nice best of both worlds sounds like a game I played called Dead State with a limited number of build options that could be upgraded and required specific resources to build. I guess my follow up would be is this a rural or urban junkyard? (I’ve worked in both and there’s a big size difference)

I wasn’t advocating for fighting them head on, I think Guerilla warfare would be an excellent strategy for us to use against the Silverthornes especially since we don’t have the numbers for a conventional fight. But just because I support that idea doesn’t mean it won’t or wouldn’t go off without a hitch. Also I don’t like the idea of living at a place where potential enemies know our location

Can we get someone else to pick the stand in leader / role picker?

Or is it some cursed loop of delegates haha

I will delegate all in my pet. At least i trust him. Lol and he has far more common sense many humans

It would be worth it to make one’s pet a second in command…as well as fueling unrest. ponders But who would be the pet’s aide-de-camp?

The nephew, maybe?
Or one of the junkyard dogs/alley cats?

Gina and woody…both of them are professional crafters. Most of the playthrough they are way more experienced than MC is. So if you ask them to build a tower, they knows exactly where to build it and how to build it, what material is required. On the other hand what do we(MC) know about building that they don’t know? And when we were building defence for our home in part 1, we were doing it our own. So, in part 2 if they are building something then they are doing everything (like recruiting people as labor or taking materials from inventory). Why would you do those things? It’s like being a nuisance and getting in the way of people. Every minutes we can save is important. For me personally there are too many things I want to do but can’t because I lack time. There are many other things we should be able to do when others are doing things for us. Like someone is cooking food…it takes 30-45 maybe 60 minutes… but what are we doing for the time? Are we waiting for food like vulture or are we doing something productive or bonding with our fellow survivors?
