Also you need a really persuasive character to get Tommy to join the group in the first place, if I recall correctly his convoās are minefields. My actor got Tommy to join the group, my teen didnāt.
So if I do go for Tommy I think I will do it with a military officer with at least a decent persuasion score. Any Tommy insights on offer @TSSL?
You donāt need to be that persuasive to recruit him, average persuasion will suffice. While his recruitment is more difficult than others, if you donāt ask him questions that are bound to piss him off i.e what did he do with his motherās corpse and when you go to his house donāt say things that shift the blame from the Makarovs as it relates to their involvement of his momās death like" the virus is what killed her" or tell him he should calm down, It will be quite easy to recruit Tommy.
But he should calm down, what heās doing to himself isnāt healthy. 
Going off on a roaring rampage of revenge, while possibly cathartic isnāt healthy under any circumstances, itās downright stupid to do it in the midst of an actual apocalypse of the Zombie variety.
Besides going after people like the Makarovs half-cocked with no plan is even more stupid.

I agree, but telling him to calm down moments after his mom was just killed and his house was robbed isnāt the time to do so. He needs time to work through his emotions, which as of part 2 he is still doing. Not to mention itās more likely to piss him off.
Tommy seems to have a deathwish and is currently trying to find a reason to live in the new world. He doesnāt seem operating on the ideation that heād come back alive if he went after the Makarovs nor does he seem to want to. Itās not like heās Reilly who doesnāt come up with a plan and think charging like a bull will solve his problems. One of the MCās roles in helping him through this is, trying to have him find a reason to live for himself. Also, I imagine you could help him be smart about getting his revenge on the Makarovs.
In fact yes. Mara teaching him persuasion also she explains him the need of planning and patience. To fully fil vengeance he has to be careful and take his time . if is a bf character is more clear as they are supporting him and caring for him.
Maybe is because i was taught about the revenge and a bond with family so for me Revenge has lot of sense. Someone kill your mom or dad and if itās no justice hell if you kill the ones preying your pack.

Really? :o Iāve had more trouble with Jillian/Lyle and Dante, honestly. The only time Iāve screwed up with Tommy was when I missed the time slot for his event

Personally, itās not difficult for me to recruit Tommy, but it seems easy for people to say the wrong thing to him, in an attempt to calm him down or just ask him a question you probably shouldnāt like where did you take your Momās corpse ?
I literally recruited him in testing with Zero persuasion. It is logical recruiting him not skill based.
If you make weird stupid questions of course he will go and find another group less weird. As someone that has seen afamiliar die I could have killed someone if make one of those questions in my face after buried my grandma that was like my mom.
