Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven General Discussion (Part 3 beta coming in December)

This world and premise would be ripe for the turn based strategy genre. In a previous life before I lost my sight, I really enjoyed games like the early UFO / Xcom or jagged alliance turn based strategy games. You could load out a team and really strategize the taking of a site like a farm or warehouse. You could find and scavenge items, it would be cool. You would face Zombies and bandits, as well as mutant dogs and the like it now seems. Decent games for blind people are practically non existent. They always lack any serious depth. Choice of games at least are blind accessible, and so at least we have that genre. ZESH is probably the best overall, but only because Jim is finding ways of incorporating deeper elements that go beyond what may have originally been conceived, but there will always be limitations on what is possible. One example would be a combat system or strategy. A turn based strategy game is a whole different kettle of fish, and a whole different skill set. I think it would be possible to make one accessible to the blind. One simplification would be the need for flashy graphics. A combat system would just be a case of maths, but enemy AI, that would be the hard thing for anyone other than the total pros to come up with.

Speaking of accessible platforms, unfortunately Jim the one you use for your Vampire book is not, so I won’t be able to enjoy that sadly.

I agree with you … Rosie and Driver basically are inseparable  However, i do notice that Driver leans more friendly towards Movie Star and Wrestler , since he loves the drama these 2 profession involved in… with logical assumption , i think both movie star and wrestler could be the one who can bond with Driver if the author has time to develop these plotline, since Driver has fond memory about the appearance of Movie Star and Wrestler in the TV , and the brief conversation before entering the school had shown that Driver had a celebrity crush …

However , since the branching of this game is already too large … it will be difficult to add towards these plotline but the potential is there

Less positive I guess, she’s the only one happy in the group as far as I know. And yeah, she is too eager to fit in. I think she’s going to crack at one point. I only allow her to join if I’m voted leader since no one is making preparations to build defenses besides ordering Woody and i need another body to work. If 'm not leader i defer the judgement of her to join to voted leader. I also don’t have high opinion of Gina for getting chummy with the MC’s nephew regardless of her reason for not getting her own kid, it creeps me out and alarm bells ring on my head whenever she gets close to him. I just wish the nephew will be wary with Gina if we made him not accept Thelma’s candy. That would be golden…

So has anyone gotten to get Reilly to follow their orders without much resistance or get him to do what you tell him to do period ? Because I managed to succeed in the former(without him being my RO). I was only able to accomplish this with a certain playthrough(Con Artist/Raider) and I was wondering if anyone else managed to accomplish this in their own unique playthrough ?

He seems to be generally cool with you even if you’re a cop. He just walks with you to check out the couple from the car crash and saying he got your back if something happens even if he just tried to deflect the question that I knew him from somewhere. When my MC remembered that he chased Reilly at one point years before after he robbed a place and got away.

And when I’m on good terms with him, he just seems to be willing to listen to what I would say. I dunno how it would be if we were on bad terms though.

That may be true in your playthroughs, but I normally can’t suggest or say shit to him without him getting a hair across his ass and telling me he’ll do what he wants and doesn’t care what I say.

I never had a problem with him. Only in one playthrough he chased after the Silverthorns, but that time I was not the leader. Apart from that he always does what I want him to do. I always help getting Nora up the hill first and allow him to bake her a cupcake.

Does anyone know how to help Sean in part 1 ?

Weird he is a nice little lamb with Mara and mom Nora says he has a crush on Mara. But is logical I guess as i save his mom he is the cook Nora is my quatermaster and I am a raider. But lol He and Madie are only that get what RAIDER means. My other characters still has zero problems with him even if relationship is not so high as Mara

College students and Teens can help fortify his house and get coffee for reward. Sean is extremely distrustful towards adult MCs, especially authoritative figures like cops or soldiers.

So adult can’t help him no matter what ?

Besides the interactions and development of the NPC’s, both inside and outside our group, I’m also greatly interested in the development of the Zeta virus itself. Surely, it won’t stay the same throughout the entire game. I’m thinking that it’ll go through multiple mutations and changes that’ll overall make the zombies stronger, and even end up making new strains, resulting in brand new zombie types.

Hey, anyone knows what the humanity stat track? I always think that it measures how desensitized you’re with the idea of violence, but I’m curious if there’s more to it.

How do you romance Woody?

So, humanity measures how compassionate/ruthless you’re toward other, right? Does that mean morality measures how concerned you’re toward other/self?

Morality i am not sure, but i suspect it is about obeying the law , like don’t steal… don’t take advantage of others, don’t cheat …

I am just guessing allowing Jillian to stay is humanity
Don’t con jillian is morality

I hardly doubt it means that due Hell i have killed more survivors than zombies still half humanity meeter so no way is compassionate lol except game believes killing Lopez for armor is compassionate kill driver Kill Rosie… Kill Romeo and Juliet Raid the groceries people…

It seems he gets along really well with a raider leader because(in my playthroughs), I couldn’t get him to do anything in a non raider playthrough but once I tried this with my Con Artist, he decided to just shut up and follow my orders with little protest.

Everything you just said as it relates to the Zeta Virus are things that will be or supposed to be explored in Zombie Exodus: Deadzone (according to the newsletter.) Which takes place 5 years in the future.

It is not soo difficult to romance Woody, I even did it without trying to. I guess the important parts are when you first met him. I take the Sandwich (it is food) and then talk to him about everything, ask about his studies last. Ask him if he has a partner, you can either directly answer that you might have just met him, but saying you do not have a partner either helps. Do not Tell him that you think Jaime is hot. When ging to the school, do not Go past Driver, but search for another way in. When he is shocked about the dead kids hug him. When choosing Cars take the swim Teams Van. Sit with him and Jaime, agree with Woody. When reaching your burning house Go inside, to get your Things. Then He should be there to Tell you to be safe when driving Off, there you can invite him to drive in your car. Then you did everything right. Altogether he is mostly for democratic decisions.
