I don’t know how to recruit Jillian, whatever I do, they’re gone the next day.
what I do is the following:
I open the door
I invite you to come
I want to know more about them and I accompany Jillian to the bathroom.
I prepare food for them
and the moment Jillian is stealing my stuff, I bully her and tell her to give it back to me.
and at no point do i find out that lyle is lying about her blindness.
Are you playing as an adult or a teen? If you are an adult, Jillian and Lyle will be more likely to stick around. Also, when you catch Jillian in the act, be firm with her, but don’t bully her into giving up the items (be kind but firm).
If you have a nephew, he will notice that Lyle is faking blindness. You can also see through Lyle’s deceit if you have high Perception (possibly Search too) and live alone. Once you figure out Lyle is blind and confront him, and you let him and Jillian stay after that revelation, they will stick around.
This is the most important thing, yes. They have to think the MC is both competent enough to be able to help them and kind enough to be willing to help them.
I think it was that he was thinking of letting anyone at all romance the twins (even MCs who could have been in their 40s or 50s), and that was the thing that was changed back. I believe students may still be able to in the future (as teen MCs can already romance the student-age Tommy and Bailey, and Brody and Bailey can get together on their own, so it doesn’t really make sense to prevent college-age MCs from romancing the twins).
Same here, Jaime never assigned clearing out the junkyard or building reinforcment buildings (like infirmary). Based on how he assigns the other tasks for me (like 7 people on watchduty on no one foraging) I just think of it as him being an incompetent leader, which sucks cuz I like him as a character. The way hes running things I just see my MC leaving in the dead of night with their RO (Tommy in this run) to live on their own.
Have high Empathy for bonus relationship points; at the end of Part 1, go to Rachel’s group to discuss the survival plan and then have 1 on 1 talk with Bailey. Bailey supports Rachel and Rachel hands-down for military-like group (so run for leader position and say that you’re gonna run the group like a squad (better get leadership skill if you wanna win).
edit: if Bailey isn’t an option after the hill battle, choose noone and go to the lake for extra flirt with Bailey
Someone tell me how to save my nephew when the zombie horde attacks us.
no matter what I say to him, in the end he ends up dead,
in case it helps, in the first part i heard his plans and when my mc killed other survivors, i told him.
@JimD: Looks like the nephew will automatically be saved if your main social skill is Leadership, but if you have high Persuasion or Intimidation, he can only be saved if your team does well in the battle; telling him to go to safety won’t work. (dep_safe is set true in the Leadership section, not the actual successful check section.)
Looking at the code, two hidden achievements are not yet available in-game. The others (with their in-game descriptions) are:

Welcome to the Con Game: Con Jillian and Lyle out of their gear.

You’re Not Welcome Here: Dealt with the zombie trapped in your basement
Guardian Angel: Followed Lyle and Jillian to the parking lot and saved them from the bandits
True Safe Haven: Secured your home enough to stop looters from breaking into your home

@moderators, should this topic be closing itself? I think somebody accidentally tagged a post as the thread’s solution, even though this is a general hints and tips thread.
I think high persuasion, i saved him when i ran outside to save gina, but before gina shoots the guy, with high persuasion you can make het hesitate, hence saving the guy
Billie gives you food (and that’s it) with a high Social stat (Persuasion/Leadership/Intimidation). It doesn’t matter what your job is. You don’t have to do other favors for her IIRC.
Sean is…weird. You have to wait until the zombie attempts to invade your home, help him reinforce his house, and then he gives you some supplies (when you scavenge his house on Day 2 you get more stuff). He’s not fond of “authority” jobs.
