@ADNox
Could I ask, what you are planning? Do you plan to conquer the continent?
My turn:
In order of preference in case it’s too much.
The Lunari begin their steady march on Runesburg. Every village is given the option to surrender and convert and continue as they’ve always have or refuse. Those who refuse are executed, their villages are looted and destroyed and their fields are burned and salted. The army arriving at Runesburg, surrounds the city, settles in for a siege and and begins constructing tunnels, trenches, pickets, and traps for horsemen as well as siege weapons.
Meanwhile, the navy encircles and blockades the costal settlements, landing marines to capture the towns and when finished they begin their march to Runesburg to provide the army with reinforcements.
Citizens from Mare Crosum are conscripted and begin work on a palisade and fort facing the Attacoti’s palisade. They begin constructing earthworks all the way to Mare Crosum and a contingency plan is drawn up in case of invasion.
0.0 god there is a lot of war going on isn’t there? :-?
seems like we are having staring contest of who has the biggest and scariest looking army
@wolfiegrey Also i feel like the Desar are one of the only races to have almost no defenses/offences capabilities so i do need to try and get some on the way sooo maybe before i start training i tell the Cirren of my circumstances and that im only going to be using these for defense, after all i do not want to throw-way my livelihoods just to invade a small country !
My turn:
The Oymaci finish the wall and tunnels. They go over both fifty times and the younger generation of engineers add vast improvements to the already impregable outposts with their vastly developed Stonework skills. The Oymaci adapt the wall designs so that they can be put anywhere as a defense; Ports, Castles, Villiages, Cities, maybe even an entire country in the future. The Oymaci now have designed the residential areas of the outposts (For the Soldiers) and due to gained skills over the years the Oymaci are able to build these quickly- It also helped that their architecture skills helped build the outposts to be not only impregnable but also especially adapted for Man and Wolf alike. It also helps that it can withstand both Ranged and close-up attacks greatly.
Ill put the Loux turn all official like.
Main thing is the big Loux agreement w the Feradians. Second thing is thanks to existing Loux mines and their new settlement the Loux start to use stone as a plentiful building source like they did w the temple, replacing the palisades w stone walls and sturdier stone buildings
Except the part where the Lunari have no experiece with traps or siege warfare and they probably don’t know ‘salting the earth’ destroys crops. You can’t reproduce the sack of Jerusalem, Carthage, etc on the fly. The Romans were experienced warriors, for generations, before they employed those tactics. Marines, trained for boarding, are at best used as peacekeeping garrisons on land; they lack the experience, discipline and formation to be good land infantry.
The likely result? You’ll take border villages and coastal towns, before the horse archers and siege equipment slaughter you. At best, you’ll sit outside their walls.and starve because of your scorched earth policy in combination with a siege. The Oymaci will kill you in the tunnels.
And soon, in a few years, the Drindites will teach you how to siege properly, when Mare Crosum burns.
@ADNox
We’ll see won’t we, regardless my troops need experience and the sentinents are easy practice plus I’ve been storing up knowledge and now it’s time to put it to work.
Ps. That’s why I put in that part about the contingency plan for invasion and the defensive construction leading from the Attacoti palisade. See what happens if you invade, I’ll bleed you dry.
I’m going to post my turns for today and tomorrow because I won’t be on tomorrow for the majority of the day and I don’t want to miss the deadline:
Today’s Turn:
-
Stryhze, Mindo, and Algire appoint their successors- Nao, Dengodaro, Juorn.
-
The Dranga rename two of the three schools, The Peacemakers (hunters/fighters), and Kangs 37 (healers).
-
The Dranga begin using every single part of the animals they hunt, for example the stronger stomachs are used as boiling pots/pouches, and the bones are used to make more implements and decorations, and the horns (if any) are used to make strong bows.
-
The Dranga develop whips, and begin to develop them for combat.
-
Dengodaro observes an animal eating berries that contain nightshade, the animal dies shortly afterwards. He begins experimenting with the other side of plants, their more poisonous side, these poisons are tested on lumps of dead flesh as well as living animals, to better observe results.
-
Nao creates another outpost further north of the last one, 35 miles north to be exact, and places another Keeper and several scouts there, interaction between the two outposts is encouraged, as well as a status report every 3 days.
-
Journ finds a glittering, solid material in the mud by the lake, he begins to observe the properties of it, in hopes that the Dranga may be able to use it.
-
A scouting party is sent north.
For once I agree with @ADNox . Two of the best warrior races and another race skilled in Building, Stonework, and Engineering building their defenses? I doubt it would work well, plus to build tunnels you need to have a certain system to build it. You can’t just build tunnels willy-nilly and not expected it to collapse, my guess is that the tunnels will collapse over the Lunari before we even manage to ambush them through the hidden spots Oymaci tend to make around tunnel systems :3
@ADNox
Doubt that most of them would resist, it wouldn’t be worth it in the long term. The horse archers aren’t much use in a siege and in case they sally, I’m going to hire some myself so I have some counter-skirmishers.
@trollhunterthethird
Why would you fight us, we have no quarrel with you? The Lunari have been collecting knowledge for a few centuries and more than likely that includes books on engineering, building and construction, plus the Lunari themselves are relatively well educated in those areas. Plus we an engineer corps, whose sole purpose is build siege and earth works as well as siege weapons and fortifications, as to digging tunnels I meant more travel between trenches and undermining the walls, rather than tunnels like your people build.
Tomorrows Turn:
-
The Dranga begin to expiriment with arrow-fishing.
-
Journ observes that broken blades of grass leave stains on clothing, he tries to find a way to secrete the color from grass.
-
The Dranga discover clay by the lake and experiment with its uses.
-
Dengodaro takes several scouts and part of Kangs 37 to try and see if perhaps they can tame some of the larger animals in the area.
-
Nao sends some of the Peacemakers to bolster the two outposts to the north (10 to each).
-
The Dranga create claw-gloves with the claws on the inside of the palm, to better find handholds in materials.
-
An attempt is made to search Mt. Royal, a scouting party is sent.
My amended turn:
In order of preference in case it’s too much.
The Lunari begin their steady march on Runesburg. Every village is given the option to surrender and convert and continue as they’ve always have or refuse. Those who refuse are executed, their villages are looted and destroyed and their fields are burned and salted. The army arriving at Runesburg, surrounds the city, settles in for a siege and and begins constructing tunnels, trenches, pickets, and traps for horsemen as well as siege weapons. Lunari try to hire Primasis horsemen for themselves to counter those hired by the sentinents. The best minds (Master Smiths, carpenters, builders, engineers, etc…) among all the people encountered by the Lunari are offered large sums to help the Lunari in their war effort.
Meanwhile, the navy encircles and blockades the costal settlements, landing marines to capture the towns and establish supply lines and beachheads and when finished they begin their march to Runesburg to provide the army with reinforcements.
Citizens from Mare Crosum are conscripted and begin work on a palisade and fort facing the Attacoti’s palisade. They begin constructing earthworks all the way to Mare Crosum and a contingency plan is drawn up in case of invasion.
The Lunari encourage many of its citizen to enlist and those that remain are expect to contribute to the war effort by growing food, making weapons and armour, shipping the food to the front line, serving as nurses and the best and brightest are put to work on new weapon, armour and siege weapon designs along with the experts hired by the Lunari.
You shouldn’t be allowed to amend your tactics because someone pointed out the errors to you, the player. There’s no magic do over for your general being incompetent. For the next war, don’t employ a stooge.
And your earthwork and wood pallisade. Drindites already have experience with supply lines, mathematics, simple machines, stoneworks and siege warfare; Mare Crosum will fall, unless the Atticoti break neutrality and cut my supply lines.
@Serarysoakheart - You liar. You bullied and injured my people even when we had our Non-aggression pact- while I did nothing to you. Why, you’ve even preached my lands, with your god awful priests. I know for certain that the growth rate of the Sentients would be horrible, with you coming in. You had no right to send your Priests to my territory without my permission for Transit. Did you also notice that you’re invading Sentient territory, just because we like our Religious Freedom?
@Headhunter, that’s a lot of stuff for a turn at a time
On the bright side, the Sentients are incapable of a counterattack, so you’re safe from reprisal.
Play nice would you. There will be zero Oymaci slaves and that’s final. In terms of military tactics, your part of my greatest plan.
To get back to the Attacoti follow the path you took to get where you are. That’s generally out of the way.
I don’t really have much else to give you. I suppose I can give you weapons once you leave our borders?
With the right training, you could have great offense strength. All you need is the Cikari and their handerlers. That is, if you decide to come meet me. I promise I won’t try and enslave you, I just want the destructive force of those lizards.
Headhunter is very ambitious that’s for sure.
I think from now on, haha should implement a rule of no turn amendments, or if he posts a day late (like he says) your allowed one amendment.
Drindites have no reason to war with you now, anyway, Oymaci. They’re a warrior culture. Except the Cikari, you lost two decisive battles. There’s no honor or sport in picking on you.
