I lobe it more every time I play it too!
Yeah I also ‘lobe’ it all too well
Blasted autocorrect!
The above video is cute!
“Cthulhu eats his followers, they love to be eaten”
cute -lokidemon007
But honestly I miss the days where Cthulhu and good cosmic horror weren’t turned into cute versions
Not being able to use telekinesis on people is kinda weird. I really don’t understand why it can’t be used that way.
Holy shit. Welp, time to go on a pointless praise rambling session, because this little game deserves it:
The characters are just plain great. Especially Kid Cthulhu. Being a huge Lovecraft fan, not only is the very concept awesome to me, but he is hilarious. I first found that out by seeing how he talks, then later on when he practically mindfucks Beach Boy. These are just two elements of the game that are so funny they are highly welcome. I liked Thelma’s character, too. Her apparent ability is pretty sweet, and I want to Powerslam Beach Boy through a table for what he and those other phonies were going to do in the alley.
(Knowing why they were going to do that would be nice, too).
The powers, too. I actually appreciate the limitation; you’re forced to really pick your favorites, mine being Super Strength and Precognition. Hell yeah. Now the Prophet codename option sounds really badass. This heavily increased immersion and character attachment for me.
The plot. Oh man, there’s so many “superhero school” games out there now, but you somehow made it interesting again. Maybe it’s your writing, the choices, the characters, or that insanely cool opening scene with Metaman. Whichever, you didn’t just hit the nail on the head, you made it refreshing again. Wow, what a shitty spin on an average metaphor. Anyways, uh, yeah.
And the last thing:
The dialogue choices. I swear to God, you know how I talk in real life and implemented that into the game. From the Batman reference during Morality class, to the “Yeah, I can do some strange shit” during the beginning. Please keep doing that.
…Yep, that’s all I got. I dare say I like this better than The War For The West. And that’s some praise right there, because I love that demo.
Cheers, @MahatmaDagon
Looking forward to meeting Metaman.
just finished the demo, loved it. I’ll be keeping a eye on this WIP
What’s your favorite of the powers?
Had a lot of fun reading this. Playing around with the different superpowers. Cant wait for this to release. Free would be a big boon as well.
Wonder how much trouble Johan is going to be in?
I rather like where this story is going thus far. It does have a pleasantly nostalgic feel to it as it’s rather reminiscent of older X-men material.
Out of all the characters, KC being a ‘dysfunctional vessel’ is particularly endearing: one minute it’s striking terror into the MC by the force of its presence, and the next moment its face is on the window and it’s admiring the scenery.
Also, I notice that KC initially refers to itself as having both genders, but its student file uses male pronouns. Which are they?
Finally, could there be a ‘confirm’ option in case we choose powers we dislike or mistype our codename? On account of my butterfingers, I attempted to name a cryokinetic character ‘Wendigo’ and ended up with the much less impressive ‘Wee.’
You’d need to be omniscient as well, and I don’t think telekinesis allows direct control over emotions.
/Mutant of mass destruction file 1-01/
Name: John Benson
Superhero name: mind master
Normal Powers:
Telekenesis
Telepathy
/mass destruction ability/
The subject’s ability is not considered massively destructive but makes it so that the subject is allmost undefeatable unless against completely overwhelming odds.
Mass destruction ability: time reload
Subject has the ability to travel across time to certain points of time
The subject states that he can only go to 3 specific points but is fully able to go forwards and backwards in Time to reach these times and is able to change when these points are. If the subject rewinds to time point1 and then travels to time point 2 in the future the timeline will reset to the events of time point 2. The subject does not fully remember the events of the changed timelines(He says, no way to fully test this) but instead has a immense subconscious desire to do what it sees as “the right choice” This has been proven to be supernatural as the subject’s actions allways lead to the end goal the subject wants even if every external factor would mislead the subject
Explanation of ability for those who didn't get it
It’s a joke about the save system
I’ll make one of those for my main character!
just an advise, forum rule 101: don’t ask for updates or other users will flag the living s@#t out you.
You must be a big fan of love craft considering K.C. and your last game
