like what i seen so far however seen little change between age or skill picks so far?
could just be because your still trying too setup the story and all but thats just what i noticed.
ps i dont know if it been fixed yet but when going the universty rout and i told "friends" that command apparently does not have a command for me. the story gives me a error (its been 2 days from when i last played so dont remember the error number)
In the case of your amazing work Lords of Aswick, if our character is either rich and/or smart enough could they design these amazing armors for themselves and/or their direct bodyguards or when inviting the guilds for all the soldiers in Aswick and supply them?
So, choosing to continue military career means we donāt get to meet Ekaterina again (or write to her)?
EDIT: Also, Iāve looked through the code (I hope youāre not angry T_T) and noticed ekaterina_injury boolean, although itās only created with false as default in startup and never appears anywhere else. Is it a leftover or will there be a possibility to prevent Comtesseās injury?
@Rafael_Trigo That might be a possibility. Donāt know yet.
@readher You will be able to contact her, just not in the firstā¦ 17k words. Damn these chapters are growing out of control. In any case, the next chapter will be the first point where you can start officially courting someone and eventually propose marriage, so I will start putting more options in for keeping in touch with old friends.
The code isnāt a leftover. Itās used to mark if youāve learned of her injuries or not. More important for the military observer path where you donāt meet the Comtesse, but might hear of her condition.
I see, thatās good to hear. Although about that learning of her injury, I found it weird that we are told about it in the military path from someone who got a letter from Comtesse. Iād think that if I romanced her before and had very good relationship with her, sheād contact me too and inform me of her state. Judging by how happy she is to see us in the University path, it only feels obvious that sheād feel obliged to inform someone she likes so much about her injuries.
She is also still fluctuating between early stages of grief. It is easier to not face reality when you donāt actively engage it in a meaningful way.
Hence her withdrawal to the hunting lodge, and the attempt at holding a big party at the start of the University branch, as if nothing has happened to her. Itās de Martal innocently asking about commissions that sets Ekaterina off in a relatively explosive fashion.
Iām actually surprised more people have not brought up the sustained injuries in the thread before now. Since we are on the subject, I would love to hear what your initial responses were to the reveal.
I went for the military path first time, but then played university path too. I must say I did not expect Ekaterina to be injured (especially to that degree) so it came as a bit of shock. She is so cheerful (maybe not so much after injury, but still), nice and adorable (especially with those hugs of herās) though that I canāt imagine turning her down just because of injuries. I must say Iām a bit dissapointed she shifted to the extreme opposite view on military (thinking much less of it is understandable after what sheād experianced, but she took it to the next level), but Iām in no place to judge her considering how it affected her. All in all, she can very much expect a proposal from me when the option comes in a future update
Tsk tsk, information gained by peeking in the codeā¦
I havenāt set anything in stone yet for de Martal. I will have to see at the start of the next chapter what options I have available for different sexualities and see if I might balance things out a bit more.
It goes a little bit farther than that, but not too much. A few hundred words or something like that.
As an aside, I will be heading over to Finland for a week on the 22nd of August. Iām aiming to get whatever I have together by then and debug so I can update before I leave. So check back next week.
I played both paths as well, and I was shocked by the extent of her injuries as well initially, but looking back it makes sense that at least someone from the cadet class sustained a maiming injury without dying, just on odds alone. I as an MC hated that it was Ekaterina, of course. As for her mindset, I totally get where she comes from. I served in the military and had brothers and sisters in arms wounded, some heavily. Some maintained the stoic patriot line about some things being worth the sacrifice, but just as many were anti-military afterwards. Itās all a part of the grief process. Sure, she is at this point now, but nothing says she wonāt come around in her own time either. People are not static.
Itās very selfish of me, but Iām glad it wasnāt de Martal. Keep the cute cadet cute !
Oh and a few minor typoās
āthose great domes tomes you went through during the voyage on the Voortrekker.ā
Hoodkommandant Hoofdkommandant van den Berg (Though modern Dutch prefers to spell Kommandant with a C, so Hoofdcommandant would be the technically correct, modern term.)
and the gilded baton help held underneath his arm.
Iām sure de Martal will get his own scars soon enough.
Also, since you brought up the language used for the Baedrani, it is a curious mix of Afrikaans and Dutch at the moment, although Iām sure I will mix in bastardized German and English as well. So it will be one of those cases where the words themselves are not what they would be in reality. If there is a case where you go āWe wouldnāt put those words in that order, the grammar makes no senseā then let me know so I can keep it grammatically based in reality.
