Could we turn Cordillaria into a one party state and go full communist mode in the socialist path?

Something just came to mind. Will there be events in which the MC must deal with an uprising in the form of a guerrilla that tries to destabilize the country?

I mean, I thought about it after seeing the stories of some infamous and well-known guerrillas of the capitalist or communist side in Latin America such as the CONTRAS of Nicaragua and ā€œSendero Luminosoā€ in Peru. Both sides committed atrocities when rising up against their governments such as terrorist acts or drug trafficking. The MC may have to deal with similar uprisings to ensure the country’s stability? obviously by creating strong state security institutions with effective combat tactics.

Another issue, even though I feel that romance is not relevant in these types of stories, but seeing that the majority want it made me think about certain issues… How will they do homosexual relationships? They will treat them as normal as any modern fiction or they will deal here with the historical dose of homophobia as well as highlighting old political smear tactics about alleged homosexual orientations among government officials. Will there be blackmail events against the MC if his sexual orientation is leaked to a rival organization?

I know I am gonna get trashed at but could we be the blackmailer in this scenario I mean look my MC is a completely Cold pragmatic and manipulative person who will do anything to garner more power and control so let’s just say if there’s was the choice to create a special division in our intelligence network with the sole purpose of gathering blackmail material on political rivals hell I might even do it to members of my own political party to you know you never know when will you need some dirt on someone either by spying or even by orchestrating the whole deed it will be cool

So what world event might we run into and possibly change?

I really thought about this. I don’t want to limit players from shaping the protagonist as they see fit, but the context of the time would actually have to be ignored and that’s not something I intend to do. I considered implementing changes to the narrative if the player chooses to not be straight, but this requires a lot of time and work in the game design. For now I’m going to focus on the basic elements of the narrative before actually making a decision on the matter.

Becoming a Machiavellian Mastermind who blackmails everyone is one of the main possibilities during the game. The CCIA is going to play an important role in that rote, they can manipulate the media, making people ā€œdisappearā€ and collect blackmailing material for you. But everything has a cost.

These are some conflicts that I plan to to introduce during the game:

FALKLAND ISLANDS

Argentina and Britain engaged in a short, bloody war in 1982 over disputed islands in the South Atlantic. The air, sea and ground conflict left 712 Argentines and 255 Britons dead.

EL SALVADOR

In a conflict that began in 1979, leftist guerrillas have been battling the U.S.-supported Salvadoran government, and more than 71,000 Salvadorans have died, mostly civilians. Thousands have been killed by right-wing death squads.

NICARAGUA

Since 1981, Sandinista government troops and U.S.-supported Contras have been locked in sporadic conflict, but the war appears to be ending. At least 29,000 dead, according to President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua.

And yes, you can play a major role during these conflicts.

Some historical characters that you might meet:

Ernesto Geisel

Augusto Pinochet.

Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri Castelli.

Margaret Thatcher.

Henry Kissinger.

Jimmy Carter.

Ronald Reagan.

Daniel Ortega.

Konstantin Chernenko.

Mikhail Gorbachev.

Will you also introduce the Shining Path conflict in Peru?

However you want to do it, although I am part of the spectrum that is not only skeptical about giving Cordilaria a nuclear program but also about romantic relationships being relevant to the story.

But these issues are decided by you and only you as the author and programmer of this interesting story.

Sorry, I didn’t understood, could you explain your question?

I don’t know a lot about the Shining Path conflict, but could look into it.

I think romance are good to make people connect with the story. And by the way, the story is all about betrayals, trusting issues and hidden agendas; so I think that adding a romantic interest on the board could make the experience even more conflicting and dangerous for the player.
