If I had to pick one, I would go with authoritarian populist, it’s easier to stay in power when everyone thinks that only you can do something good for them.
I admit, I had some fun writing these dialogs,
This game reminds of Anton Rayne becoming dictator In Suzerain
I think Suzerain’s developers were also inspired by “hidden agenda.”
What’s the magic system like?
This is a real interesting one. Looking forward to reading more.
Magic system?
@Biwa_man @hock45 you guys should absolutely try suzerain new Dlc Rizia
I played 4 days from waking to sleep and awake all night till morning but I absolutely loved it.
Good for foreign relations inspirations and also kingdom management (economy and energy reliance economy country)
Also I’m in Palomar side. He is absolutely right about democracy. It’s a form to allow everyone fight legaly for their own selfish reasons in cost of the progress of country and the stability.
I believed that myself even before seeing Palomar and suzerain and I was also a populist centrist dictator (also a warmonger hero:) ) in suzerain
btw how did you win the war with pales and survive coup from House toras. I get coupe despite unifiying the country
Rizia is cool but I was secretly hoping for a more developing country like “Democratic” Zanza and where mc would have been freer to shape the system instead of working within it to reform it…or not.
Sadly I couldn’t finish the second operation in time and it failed and sazons +toras couped and I was to proud to go down without dieing. I started again today for a new play. But still same path(absolutism)
@idonotlikeusernames maybe the next dls be in arcasia 18th century?
Who is Palomar?
He’s in this wip. Our predecessor in Cordillaria story
Hey everyone! Sorry for the radio silence, but don’t worry, I’ve been busy procrastina…—uh, I mean, planning how the story will unfold in Chapter II.
I wanted to make sure you get a buffet of choices that impact both the game’s mechanics and the story itself. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s cooking for “The Cordillarian Revolution” (Chapter II):
Palomar’s Fate – Your Choice!
Will you grant freedom, exile, or death to Palomar? This former president is a polarizing figure; some say he’s a mad dictator who hijacked democracy, others see him as the hero who saved Cordillaria from the red menace. Whatever you decide, it’s going to haunt your presidency.
Cicero or Caesar?
Remember when Rome was a hot mess and Caesar came in like, “Hold my wine”? He restored order, but let’s just say the Senate wasn’t exactly loving him. Now Cordillaria is at a crossroads—will you be the democratic Cicero or the authoritative Caesar? (Yeah, I haven’t given a lot of thought in this analogy.)
Basically speaking, you will be able to decide whether you want to be a dictator or a democrat, the difference is that I have already planned how you can become the dictator of your dreams.
Constitution Conundrum
Cordillaria needs a shiny new constitution. Will it be a democratic document expanding citizens’ rights, a super federative one giving power to the states, or a “unique” semi-presidential republic with the president as the fourth branch of government? Because nothing says “revolution” like a revolutionary constitution, right?
(I tried to not include the constitution’s subject in this path to avoid similarities with Suzerain, but there are things we can’t escape.)
If you play your cards right, you might just pass the new constitution before Chapter II wraps up.
Money Talks – So Do You!
Cordillaria is sitting on a goldmine of oil, natural resources, and… drugs? Yes, drugs. Do you want to privatize everything and trust the invisible hand of the market? Or maybe you’re more into seizing private property and giving it all to the workers? Or perhaps you see potential in teaming up with the “alternative medicine” (DRUGS!!!) industry? The economy is your playground, go wild! But don’t forget to have an army at your side.
I haven’t stopped working in Chapter I, the lawyer’s path is going well and I now have a good idea about how the police background should be.
Additionally, I intend to keep a diary and post here once and while if there is still some engagement.
Three cheers for the power of basic organization of ideas!
So for the fourth branch being the president, is that for people going down the dictator route or democrat route? Also would we be able to fight off the drug cartels in the country and have the government be the main drug producer and seller, basically turn the country into a Narco state but the government leadership is in total control of the process and not the cartels the government is using to profit from the drugs
What does “But don’t forget to have an army at your side” mean?
Also could we worsen the war on drugs in the US by helping cartels smuggle more drugs into the US
He most likely means to make sure you have a large support base to protect you if you go down the more spicy paths that could go wrong and blow up in your face
Or it could be read as a hint at a coup by those close to him. Which one is it?
Probably both
