@astraeius First of all, thank you so much!
And I’m amazed if that’s the case. I rarely post like, once a month
but aaaah still, thank you! I’m really glad you’re interested in this! (And I love writing dramatic AF prose like that prologue and work from there)

Some hopefully satisfying answers!
No need to be sorry! I love getting questions about lore, characters, and the likes. They’re really very helpful so ask away if ever you have more. I’ll never get tired of them and look forward to more.
One in 100,000 sounds about right, actually. Not everyone gets to meet an Archon in their lifetime, in fact. Most of them gets recruited by the Guild (if they don’t start as an ordinary human agent first, that is), and they’re unlikely to be deployed in sleepy little towns that don’t ever get criminal action like Rivercliff due to how limited they are.
A tangent (but provides a little more insight about Archon rarity if you’re interested, but I’m adding spoiler tags so it’s easier to skip if you’re not ^~^) Eidnyr is a huge continent (Can I start calling it a supercontinent? Is there a map coming soon? Perhaps) but Pantheons usually had large territories they governed/were in charge of, or were predominant in. There wasn’t much of them, compared to humans at that time before Deiomakhia—and especially compared to the modern day, as I’m sure modern life’s more advanced technology has increased lifespans and inflated the population. And not all the gods gave Relics, too. Like humans to gods, they had different opinions about humans, too. Not all of them were good. (But of course, there were also the spiteful gods who gave destructive Relics to wreak havoc to humans)
Yep! Depending on where they are and the culture in that place, treatment towards them varies. Like, in some places where there are more people who worship the gods than not, Archons are welcomed and even sometimes revered, due to their connection with gods through their Relics. On the other hand, in places where godhaters are rampant, they might be looked on with envy or disdain. However, both will treat them with some level of wariness.
Another yes. Archons and Heroes have different ways of getting their powers (one through Relics and the other through bloodlines) but both came from the gods themselves, so they’re not really all that different. Mostly, it depends on the Relic an Archon possesses, and dangerous Relics are handed over to the Guild for safekeeping, so high level Archons are few. I’d say it’s hard to be at the level of the most powerful Heroes, but not impossible.
If an Archon is given an opportunity to prove themself beyond their Relic’s rank, able to bring out their full potential despite the Relic’s limit, then yes. It’s definitely those who don’t solely rely on their Relics, too, the ones who use their wits or people skills, their natural physical strength or other specialties.
Harm is one aspect of it. Not all Relics cause harm (some grant healing abilities and such). It’s more of how influential a Relic is, their scope and limitations. It’s a rather tricky assumption especially if the wielder turns out to be crafty or smart, so Relic Ranks are judged based on how a normal person would wield them.
A Rank 1 Relic is considered as mostly harmless and barely influential, usually works on an individual alone (aside from its Archon, that is)
A Rank 2 Relic can affect maybe a couple of individuals or so, but not that much of a difference from Rank 1
A Rank 3 Relic can influence a small mob.
It goes up to Rank 10 and increases exponentially, until large-scale influence and/or destruction. The number of Relics is inversely proportional to the Ranks. Relating to the question earlier, Archons who go beyond or above their Relic ranks are called Catalonans, or Catalonic Archons.
Heroes are ranked on a similar system! For example, there are two sons of Zeus. One of them might manifest greater power than the other. Whereas son #1 can control storms, son #2 might only be able to zap people with low voltage pokes. Son #1 would be classified as Rank 7 or 8 while son #2 would be a 1.
Most Relics (and Heroic power) have this so-called principle of exchange. What does the Relic want in return for an Archon using its power? The answer depends on a Relic’s power. If it’s low ranked, it’s probably not much.
Purify it first—
I hope the answers are good enough! If there’s any that need clarification or further questions, just holler! Thank you again!
