Im just suprised is all. Im happy with the options we have. Like I said not many people use Ishtar in games and I dont think many people know about her. So its kind of refreshing really.
First time player here, I loved this game, I tried every option to see their powers and background before properly playinh, and my favorites prologue’s are the one with Isthar (The one that i love the most in mesopotamian pantheon) and Janus, Isthar sounds like a lovely character who had already endure a lot of pain because of her curse, and Janus it reminds me so much to the myth of Cassandra which is my favorite greek myth.
But, among the powers, is not the power of Isthar hardly comparable in scale to the other ones? I feel like her power of flight is quite weak compare to the other characters? As she is also related to other goddess like Hecate or Isis or even Persephone maybe some dabbling into magic or witchcraft or maybe some control over plants will make her powers at par with everybody else who are a quite powerful or maybe some air powers related with her flight? Maybe its just me who feels that way with her powers but I don’t see her as powerful as the other MC’s.
There was a poll to decide which fable would be added and Tsukuyomi was on it. Lucifer won though.
She’s strong she has like super strength along with flight and some other stuff, but her powers aren’t as destructive as some of the others.
Will we get an early peak into Zeus’s fight scene, or do we wait till everyone’s done? Either way’s fine by me though
Ishtar can fly at mach 5 which is really really REALLY fast like 1715 km a SECOND fast which would be enough to shred through anything by just flying at it
Loki isnt Thors brother, thats only in Marvel. In the actual mythology, Loki is Odins blood brother (not actual)
20 days late to that discussion and that led up to problems so I’m gonna stop that right there or John will just derail this thread again.
True, sorry
I may need a rewrite then because you’re not the first to say it, but don’t worry; she’s plenty powerful. You’ll be role-playing as a Human ICBM with how fast she can fly And personally, her fight has been one of my favorite ones to work on. A lot of tumbling through the air and carrying people through buildings.
Invincible TV Show Spoiler: (Think when Omni-Man destroys the flaxon planet, not quite as extreme but in that vein. One of my favorite shows btw, should check it out if you havn’t already )
Current plan is that when I finish up the second fable’s scene I’ll post a little spoiler for the Zeus on my Tumblr
I love how flying straight through buildings is what you mean by a “tame” augment lol .
Can’t wait to see how badly Arthur; Sun Wukong; Zeus or Pele will bully this poor city lol
I got a feeling that Arthur MC might do the most damage due to Excalibur’s bloodlust drawback and those golden arcs probably will obliterate everything in the vicinity.
Although I would love to see a high INT MC being able to trick the Cloud Praetor into killing someone in front of people filming it and make them think he did it on purpose then boom, gives me an excuse to look better than the Justice League wannabes
I mean, Ishtar is also a packaged deal of having two powers at the same time, sure she’s refusing to use it right now because of implications, but that doesn’t mean it’s not powerful
You mean she can charm the Iron Praetor to be her thrall and do her bidding if she wanted to?
that would probably be too op, but surely there’s some way we can use it positively without breaking the story, it would definitely work on Jordan Werther, but that’s like overkill times 10.
I actually trust that DrDense will be able to write Ishtar well, and am patiently waiting.
I do worry that her speed/flying/strength combo will feel underwhelming to me, but DrDense is aware of the feedback given, so I will wait and see how I feel as the story progresses.
Perhaps, like Superman (who I think is the closest analogy I know) did, Ishtar will discover she has laser eyes … or maybe mastery of shadows, which she has to sort of have as she teaches her ward.
Or, perhaps nothing of the sort will be needed as I read more of the story as it is released.
Ishtar is my go-to in this story, so I will be enjoying her route, no matter what happens, I am sure.
I also do not know the Invincible tv show, so my understanding of what her archtype is being modelled under is not as firm as perhaps others’ grasp is.
tldr version: I am in a holding pattern until I see how everything goes in later releases.
I mean, Ishtar is still a love goddess despite the war aspect, turning her into superman is quite boring to me, considering how many there are in popular media, maybe she just needs better control of her charm power.
I agree that, like other deities in ancient times, Ishtar is more than one thing.
We have not really seen her love, fertility and other aspects, outside of war explored much yet, and I look forward to that.
Since the focus of the released demo is conflict, it is most of what we can discuss for now.
Many of Ishtar’s myths involve her taking over the domains of other deities… which means it is conceivable that DrDense writes something about Ishtar taking over the “domains” of the Praetors.
Which is why I mentioned the evolution of Superman and him gaining powers.
What we see and experience is all dependent on @DrDense and his storytelling, which I am looking forward to.
well if you seen arturia pendragon in action i agree with you there excalibur is op.
{p.s arturia is arthur pendragon counter part saber from fate stay/night and fate zero i cant remember the other version of anime she was in she basically a female version of king arthur though the main character doesn’t know that till late on in the anime story when she unleashes excalibur and calls out its name revealing her identity since when the sword was wrapt up in divine wind the sword was hidden so there opponent couldn’t tell what the sword was thus they didn’t know her identity he basically just calls her saber through most of the anime all of the characters true names are hidden to hide there identities kinda like this game}
You tighten your grip around the shaft of the spear, and then you push with a decent portion of your strength. His eyes widen as his feet leave the group. Ground I’m sure.
