I’m currently working on a werewolf game. It’s not ready to be posted just yet. But I was thinking it would be cool to make it so a full moon affects your stats depending on your level of control and it would reflect in different scenes. As in the closer you get to the full moon you get a little antsy, too aggressive, and etc. This would change your persona too depending on your choices. If you’re normally nice or shy, you would be seen as acting out of the norm. I hope I explained that clearly enough. Any thoughts?

Are mc able to control him/her/themself when change to werewolf? And is it gender locked? I change this to work in progress by the way

sound like a nice concept. few questions, where/ which age does it take place on (ex: medieval era, current time, the future, a new fantasy world that you created etc…) will it be gender-locked or choose your gender type?

@Vattena @Logan3000x No, it isn’t gender locked. The prologue is going to be from the mother’s POV. That’s when you’ll be able to decide your gender, name, etc. For this reason, you’ll only be able to choose between boy or girl. At first. I’m not GQ so i might need a little help on that one. This takes place in current time.

I already have an idea on how to code. It’s not as complicated as it sounds, I think. But I do want to hear your thoughts about the concept. And if you think it’s cool? Feel free to tell me. I won’t let it go to my head. I promise.

Yes, there will be a full transformation and a partial one. And they will behave like one. Will they be able to control it though? Whether or not they’ll remember? Maybe. For the most part they will remember every little detail. Sometimes just flashes. Or they won’t remember anything at all.

@jasonstevanhill I was wondering about the level of mature content in a story. In the prologue, it would touch on subjects of drug use and sexual assault. Would I be able to include this in the game if it isn’t too graphic? I know apple is strict about this sort of thing. Also, should I ask about this in a different thread or category?

It is a good idea and plays to the theme. Also, like you have surmised it is easier to code than you would initially think. Just a counter variable and if statements.

Thanks. I want players to be more involved with their character. I want every choice to matter in some way or another. I don’t want it to be like, " Yep, MC is werewolf. I’m basically just playing around with meaningless choices that have no affect on the game whatsoever, except for boring RO’s, and shallow connections to all NPC’s. Oh, and also, the interesting part- the werewolf part- I have no control over that whatsoever so on second thought, it’s not all that interesting."
I want being a werewolf to cross over into their regular lives. Otherwise, what’s the point?

There will be different species. Such as wendigos, Witches, Elves, Pixies, etc. There’s a whole society that the human aren’t aware of. Well, most of them. A wolf needs a pack. Right now, you’re a lone wolf. If no pack is willing to take you in, then you’ll just have to form your own.

I would to build my own pack and be the alpha. Especially if the pack acts defensive around the MC is the MC is the alpha.
Also also the prologue: I don’t think you will encounter as much problems as you think. As long as you warn people that this game with have dark and mature themes and no one under 18 should read it, you’ll be mostly alright. Just be careful how you handle what happens.
