Will there be another book for this series or is this the last one?

There’s one more planned.

Oh! So, apparently, I never got there.

Realized I hadn’t finished book 2 when I opened it. Had to restart it.

Edit:
I did have a Dena relationship save. I didn’t go with. Dena is cute, just. Idk. Something bothersome there.

My new B1 run apparently ended up not romancing anyone. I kept holding off and not denying a relationship. Just no idea who I really like, honestly. Bly is most interesting (can’t romance in 1?), as is Inferni/Augury. After reading a couple of posts, it’s good to know those two are a fling.

I’d like to share my thoughts after reading.
Oh, where to start…
On the positive side, the plot is engaging, and the author has finally stopped creating absurd and unnatural scenes, like the one where the protagonist could persuade an enemy to retreat in the heat of battle.
Haken’s disappearance was explained, but his character underwent changes. He no longer resembles himself, the fierce wolf we saw in the first book. And while that can be forgiven for what he’s been through, the same can’t be said about the rest of the characters from Haven.
Bly, Jolon, Tiva, Dena, and others have, at times, lost their individuality—they’ve been merged into a single personality. The only moments where they truly stand out are in specially written scenes with them, like Bly’s training hall sequence.
I suspect this happened because the author, to make their job easier, wrote the main story and romantic moments for one particular character first, then simply copied and pasted the same text for others, making slight adjustments to fit each character. And it’s terrible! This isn’t just lazy and a huge misstep for a writer—it strips the book of any replayability or interest, making it flat and bland, like chewed-up gum.
I read the book twice, choosing Jolon and Dena as close companions, and compared to the previous two books, I saw almost no difference between them. Dena is no longer a bookworm, and Jolon is no longer a Huntmaster — now they are mixed becoming one. Their dialogue lines are the same, their activities with the protagonist are the same, even their intimate scenes are the same. Yes, the text is slightly edited, but it’s still the same! (Except for the special events, as I mentioned earlier.) Even in those, you can often catch repeated, copied text with just the name changed. And if it wasn’t so noticeable in the previous books, now it literally stands out!
I’d like to single out Dena specifically. In the story, he’s the protagonist’s best friend—they grew up together. But if you don’t pick him as a romantic option or choose his storylines, he’s almost nonexistent throughout the three books. Seriously, as the protagonist’s best friend, … (with that label) … - he should at least get a significant amount of book time, be a constant presence, influence the protagonist, and play a key role in the overall story! But instead, I saw Ahot’s muzzle more often. That old man is everywhere! Since the book two, I’ve been doing everything to push him into the background, but the stubborn geezer keeps coming back, even more frequently in the third book.

I guess there will be a fourth book, and of course, I’ll be waiting for it because I love werewolves. I hope the author understands what I tried to convey in this review. It would be better if they spent some time writing individual storylines for each character instead of copying and pasting. Cause this not only ruined the book but could also turn a great writer into a mediocre one, making their future works worse.
I hate writing criticism—it’s unpleasant, and it’s even more unpleasant to read it as the author. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve said what I wanted to say. And despite everything I’ve mentioned, I still enjoyed the book, so thank you.

I can’t say much about Werewolves 3 since I only playthrough it once so far but in 2 while Jolon and Dena did share some stuff they still had unique scenes at most of the hangout moments in 2 plus you interact with Jolon more at the start of 2 if you pick up the assassination side quest at the end of 1. For 3 all ro’s have their unique side quests at the first hangout which can affect things latter if you fully do them. I don’t disagree with you that there aren’t moments where the copy and pasted stuff stands out of character for the one speaking but I do think it’s understandable why the author does that in order to cut down on work. Werewolves 3 is already the biggest book (without taking the dlc of POK into account) the author has made and COG has deadlines unlike HG though they trend not be too strict about them

That’s the thing, if you read a book just once, say for Jolon, and don’t open it again, it’s great, and I have no objections. Except for the (best friend) part, which I wrote about above. But it’s an interactive book, which means you’ll open it more than once. And if you see the same text often in an interactive book, choosing a completely different story path, that’s a disaster. Especially if the characters say the same phrases.

Okay I have question about Winter, is she a RO for my male character or is she just a one night stand fling character?

One night stand fling with maybe something more in book 4

Winter has a " current_relationship_1 “winter” " flag, same as the other 5 ROs, and that flag can trigger in the final chapter, so I believe it’s safe to say that Winter is a fling that can turn into an RO.

The author also referred to Winter as a Book 4 RO in a recent Reddit AMA, so there’s that too.

Kinda has the same complain. Dena does not exist no more, Lapu the traitor pop ups more (wish I could kill him). Maker kinda sideline you for Lapu as the best specimen if you allied with her.

And also Haken, I thought there would consequences for his subordination but no Razor lied. There’s many transgressions that other packmates did in the previous book that the story just kinda didn’t touch. I feel like the author forgot a lot of things from the previous books or just couldn’t implement all of them which is understandable caused there’s just so many special path with different flavor that’s probably hard to carry to the current book.

I mean it is understandable that maker would favour Lapu due to her working on him for quite sometime
I think in book 4 we are going to be having our mc moments starting to shine through.

I see where your coming from in terms of consequences not being dished out for Lapu and Haken I think we’ll have to wait and see in the next book how they get implemented to the extreme choices we can make(even though they are disfavored by the pack and technically almost close to losing any kind of trust anyone had in them) I mean I get characters being an option to get killed prematurely but I tend to think that their presence becomes minimal in later books if that is viable choice that can be made.

One is probably the most mc energy the mc ever had. Two was also okay, but three the mc kinda has to make way for the other characters to show their capabilities like how Maker captured the heli so it’s understandable but hopefully four could finally give shine to the mc maybe the whole being special physiology the mc has to everyone, well except Lapu.

This is another issue with this series, but I think it’s a problem with any interactive project. When your choices don’t really impact the story, and the paths you pick just merge with the main plotline without any real consequences, it feels underwhelming. Of course, it’s understandable—if every minor detail was accounted for, the book would become massive, and eventually, the author might burn out, get lost in the details, and abandon it altogether.

That’s why, instead of introducing new characters and branching the story even further into paths that ultimately lead nowhere, I’d prefer the author to give more attention to the existing choices and further develop the characters introduced in the first and second book. This way, the narrative would feel smoother, the choices would make sense, and there wouldn’t be an overwhelming number of characters who seem disposable, who can be used and then swapped out for new, more interesting ones with the release of a new book.

Damn, I hope my words make sense, English is not my first language.

P.s. - and I was glad to get a chance to help Lapu). Even though he did what he did, I think he deserved a second chance. Especially after what Maker did to him.

Yeah the major kill vibe for me is if the gameplay is at least it can’t be replayed more than once but I don’t see that being an issue over here to be honest you get so much branching subplots that will matter later on in book 4 the author even keeps on hinting it throughout the story.
