The word count for Werewolves 3 just exceeded the entire word count for Werewolves 1 this week. And I have quite a lot left to go! Gonna be big!
Best wishes:clap:
is there any dedicated guide for werewolves 1?
Hey! I just want to say thank you for all of your hard work! I am a massive fan, and I am very excited for Werewolves 3: Evolutions End. The worldbuilding, the characters, all of it. I even Unlocked all the achievements on both of the games because I wanted to see all the lore and possible Options lol. Anyways, keep up the good work! I wish you and everyone else a good day!
Ahh pls I have to know,
Does a non-romanced Jolon survive to Book 3? What about Dena when Jolon is chosen as RO?
Hello! Sorry it took me so long to see this! I’ve been hard at work on Werewolves 3 so haven’t had much time for browsing the forums, lately.
Thank you so much for the kind words, I hope you enjoy Werewolf 3 when it’s out!
Jolon and Dena can both survive to book 3 and they both have quite a bit of side content and personal storylines. They only die in book one if they are explicitly stated as having been killed. A tip for this is (counter intuitively, I’ll admit in retrospect) to stick with the Williams fight and don’t go to their aid if they’re being attacked. They will be badly hurt, but survive. If you intervene and then fail the associated checks, they can actually die.
One of the biggest complaints I got about Werewolves 2 was that if you didn’t RO with Jolon, he barely showed up, so I made sure that an alive, non-dating Jolon shows up much more often in Werewolves 3.
Omg tysm for the speedy reply!
Sorry, I just had to ask because Jolon is still my bro regardless if I romance him or not (and it looks like I’m not the only 1 who thinks so, wow) I just think he and Bly are such cool characters. It’s just that in the Book 2 ending I got (leave camp by bus, I also decided to try a no romance run), while it did say sth to the effect of “You’re relieved that most of your friends/pack made it out”, Jolon didn’t get the… idk what to call it, cameo mention? That Bly, Tiva and Kotori had so I just wanted to confirm
: .
On the Book 1 spoiler, like omg you definitely had me there with the twist ! I rmb one run where I chose the combat Williams option, the end game partner at that time even commented they saw the body n I thought that was that. But I guess I should’ve went with the 2nd level of the “If there was no body…” rule of thumb, the “if there was no body you’ve seen with your own damn eyes” rule
. Esp when it concerns ‘Master of Shadows’ Jolon lol. Also good to know that Dena can be quite hardy too.
Really gotta second the person who talked about liking the worldbuilding and lore. I also like some of the themes/concepts and char development brought up in the Dena romance.
Agn thx for the reply, here’s to the writing going smoothly for book 3.
I was wondering in book one there is an achievement called the cure how do you get it?
Jolon did make it to that ending, but like a lot of book 2, he wasn’t name dropped much. He’s revealed as being there in book 3’s prologue as long as he didn’t die in book 1.
The Dena romance takes a few interesting turns in book 3. I’m still trying to figure out exactly where they’re going as a character arc, but it’s getting clearer. Most of my characters tell me what they’re thinking, but Dena’s been a little difficult with me so far. Of course I still have several more chapters to write so there’s plenty of space to grow. It’s been a tough road for poor Dena.
The Cure is a hard one: You have to help cure Rost of his feral state.
This requires a academics score of 60 or more by chapter 7.
Oh ok thank you!
Sweet, thx! Lotsa cool stuff to look forward to in book 3
Hi, thanks for the answer I also wanted to know how to get the cure.
My two MCs from both Books.
Crimson Wolf
Shadow Wolf
So, I just spent the last two evenings playing both games in this series, and I just need to post here so I can squee like a fangirl about how good they are. I loved the worldbuilding and lore - in fact, one of my only complaints would be that my character wasn’t allowed to ask more questions about other characters’ backgrounds, especially those who weren’t part of the Haven pack. The characters are just wonderful - they all felt so real to me. I love that all of them, from the most pacifist to the most belligerent, had some really sound arguments, and no character, even the wisest or the most fanatical, was always right or always wrong. This is just such a smart and complicated story, and I loved navigating my way through some truly challenging choices. I played one of my rare self-insert characters and several times found myself confronted with the conflict between what I wanted my character to do and what I would actually do! (Gnothi seauton, as Ahote would say.) I’m already thinking about what paths I’d like to explore in my next playthrough. I can already tell I’ll need to play several times to even begin to experience all these games have to offer.
So when will Book 2 get a save? Just escaped with Tayla and there is no save at the end.
I think the game should save at this point. Have you updated the app? It’s possible that that one specific end branch might be the one place left out at the moment.
The siding with the HSM / betraying your pack storyline fundamentally changes almost every aspect of the game and it will require a lot of revision to work into the main game. Fewer than 0.5% players ever got that ending, so I’ve been prioritizing all the main pathways at the moment. My intention is to get all the main storyline elements to final draft and then start adding Williams/HSM ally stuff during the first beta wave. (alt text, alt conversations, a few unique scenes, and a unique ending.) But if I don’t focus on finishing the main game, I’ll never finish it on time.
It’s like the ending from Werewolves 1 where you can choose to stay in your cabin and retire, flipping the bird to Sonoma and Rivera when they come knocking. That was really hard to integrate, too. I’m working on it, but it’s just not there yet.
For comparison, Werewolves 3 is already at 420 thousand words which is 60 thousand more than Werewolves 2. I’m expecting the game to go over 550k by the time it’s ready for the first round of beta. (about 5 full novels’ worth of content) I’m doing everything in my power to address the unusual circumstances coming into book 3, don’t worry. It’s just a loooot of work but I’m getting there.
Side note: I’ll be pushing patches in the next few months which will allow chapter rollbacks (save points at the beginning of chapters) in Werewolves 1 and 2 that function similarly to the system I used in Parliament of Knives. It will also fix some unnecessarily hard skill tests and make the Bly relationship easier to get in Werewolves 1.
I understand. Still does not allow me to save though. It’s when you get the “ethical treachery” achievement.
Same here
Are you able to save on the other endings? I’ll be looking into this today. Thanks for the report.
