@ArchAngel950 --You honestly think someone *wasn’t*? Even a warhead has a guidance system…
any chance you can set up links to your demos on another post
@ashley916 what demos? the game is out for sale here https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/nhahffjphdghiokcmifmikedgmjohdck . otherwise there’s a free preview on the CoG website if thats what u mean-- http://www.choiceofgames.com/category/user-made-games/
@WWL Controlling it directly. With a remote of some sort, or through a deal or blackmail or something. That’s really the only thing I can think of that would otherwise stop it from killing Illyan as well.
I really need to pick my words better…
@ArchAngel950 – well, it is said that the presence of Semryu and the Headmaster (and you) disrupted the plan of the group attacking. So, perhaps, she wasn’t even meant to be there by then.
Um…this makes me think i need to incorporate more info on how summonings of demons *work* in the WW world…hummm…good addition to Master Simon’s class, i think…
*wanders of to scribble notes…*
I think she was set up. Her missing research probably opened up a whole aspect of the cultures that no one but the higher ups should know and they needed to shut her up, but that theory suggests that they were already watching her for a different reason. So she may be guilty of something, just not about what they’re putting her on trial for. -_- suspicious…
@MaddiMastermind --just the healthy level of paranoia i love!
I want to be able to ‘hum’ like she does. Can we learn how to in the sequel?
Hm, I have yet to be able to meet the conditions to completely free her. You seem to want to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but may I ask what they are?
Well I think you have to be equally good at every talent to free her. I died 5 times before I was able to free her!!! It was so frustrating!!! >:p
you can free her? what happens after you free her o.o;
^ She destroys the Dragon thingy, it’s kind of cool, however there are hints that it does seem to petentially get your character in some sort of trouble in the sequel. Still it’s a lot better than dying, if you ask me.
@cutiali — that’s some pretty darn powerful magic, but i’ll consider it.
@13ventrm – it *is* mostly tied to the level of your Talent stat, as well as your preferred Ability picked–though a very high Montage stat can assist. Remember it’s a very powerful set of spells on those chains–enough so that Illyan herself can’t get out of them. The fact that a 14 yr old *could* do it at all is actually quite extraordinary–so i had to make it hard, for realism’s sake.
@idonotlikeusernames – see now, i don’t think of dying as all that big a deal–it’s an interesting read, and it’s not like the game is over when ya do… Plus the physical ramifications add a certain depth to the main’s personality…but that could just be me enjoying conflict for conflict’s sake. XD
I agree with those who believe that Illyan is innocent of the major charges. That said, Crispin was giving her a scary glare at the end there, and she admitted to fibbing about the research she was doing. I’m not entirely certain what to make of that. Was that simply due to her not being entirely straightforward before the fake guard attempted to end the interview? or did it extend to the possibly sensitive or even forbidden nature of her research? and/or a possible attempt on her part to hide its nature from Crisipin while she was working on it?
@WayWalkerLeigh Whether or not dying is a really big deal depends on how permanent the “physical ramifications” are.
@P_Tigras – good thoughts. I was wondering when someone was going to mention that little fact.
lol–i certainly hint at it at the end, but overall the drawbacks of the death come from the *random content option of choicescript. There’s four possibilities, and with each comes a stat hit and a set of symptoms. It really depends on what kind of character you were building, and what stat gets hit–but no matter what there will be opportunities to try and regain yr stats through the game.
I prefer the scenes you get when not dying to the ones when you do, especially since my cannon character is a bit of a nerd and I like the accomplishment of having him complete the finals on his own instead of being granted a free pass due to dying.
Plus I get a nice scene with Semryu where we can finally see him loose his cool ice mage mask temporarily that you don’t get to see otherwise.
@idonotlikeusernames – Fair enough.
Also, *note to self* have more moments where Semryu ‘flips out’. got it.
@WayWalkerLeigh oooh I agree with @idonotlikeusersnames ^^ I want to see Sem break down. He’s gotta have some anger or depression issues that would be so cool to see
@AlyssaP --anger yes, but depression? where do you figure in that?
@WayWalkerLeigh it was mostly an idea really. I mean, no one can go through those lies and rumors calling him a red follower without beginning at least partially believing them–it’s pretty easy to wonder if there’s a reason why everyone seems to think you’re evil. That could cause some major depression along with the anger. The two seem to go hand in hand as it is.
