I’ve begun work on my new game War of the Dragons. In it, you play a person from the village of Ferncliff on the continent of Eurethia. There are three species of dragon on this island - the meadow, cliff, and sky dragons. They are currently at war with each other, and it’s not uncommon for an entire city to be demolished as collateral damage to his war. The main character, the one you play as, has stolen a dragon egg that you will raise as your own. Together, or with help from others, you must stop the war of the dragons.
Currently I only have the prologue done, and I plan on updating every so often.
Put the files into Dashingdon.com after creating an account, than do all the steps it tells you too. Click on the link to play your game, copy and paste it into this thread as an edit, and than people can play it.
This WIP has potential! I wished it could be longer, but I’ll keep an eye out on this thread.
PS: I picked the white egg, figured it would be a sky dragon. Just a question though, don’t dragons have a superior sense of smell? Unless I’m wrong, then why can’t the green dragon sniff you out of your hiding spot?
Found a strange quirk of coding. When the dragon hatches and the text determines if it’s male or female - I was able to go into my stats screen, then when I came back my male dragon became female.
I think the easiest way to avoid this issue would to be moving the *rand to somewhere earlier in the code (even the startup.txt if you have to) so it won’t be noticeable.
This wip has a lot of potential! Of course, it could be longer, but if I’m guessing correctly, you just started this wip, so that may change. I’m definitely going to be keeping my eye on this and waiting patiently for future updates! ^•^ Good luck with this, and please take your time on it.
A suggestion from little old me… provide a description for each dragon type. Those of us that play DnD can assume things, but you could totally flip things and have your own rules from dragon kind.
Sky dragons stand for: text goes here and range in these scale colors.
Cliff dragons stand for: text goes here and range in these scale colors.
Meadow dragons stand for: text goes here and range in these scale colors.
