War of Genealogy: Talon Saga || WIP

As the child of the legendary mercenary Loyce, you are a young warrior swept into a bloody conflict that threatens to destroy the entire continent of Talon. Caught between your loyalty to your country and your duties as a mercenary, the future of your homeland rests on your shoulders.

• Play as male or female

• Manage a mercenary company and go out on missions to earn money

• Train yourself to become a master swordsman

• Participate in a brutal war tearing across the continent. Lead your nation to victory

• Recruit brave warriors to build up your army

• Go Hunting or fishing to survive, lest you die of starvation

• Become a hero decorated in valor

• Earn the respect of your comrades

• As commander, the lives of your men rest in your hands. Lead them to a flawless victory, or lead them to their deaths

Main Characters

Prince Frantz || RO

Appearance: A 5’7" tall teenager with bright blue eyes and dark hair done in a center part, sometimes bluish under intense light. At 150 lbs, he is toned with noticeable muscles. He has fair skin and a diamond-shaped face. A mirror of his twin.

Bio: Honorable and regal like a Lion, but stubborn as an Ox.

The second-born to King Fletcher of Vahlmean and one half of a twin. Despite his royal upbringing, the young prince is infamous for his rowdy nature and getting into fights with local thugs and drunkards. Instead of remaining behind the royal palace walls, he is often found mingling with the commoners whom he regards as family. He is seen as the outcast of his family, as he rejects Valhmean’s culture and constantly objects to his father’s hard-line military tactics. His skill with the blade is said to even surpass that of his father.

Prince Grantz || RO

Appearance: A 5’7" tall teenager with bright blue eyes and dark hair slicked all the way back, leaving a single bang hanging over his forehead. At 150 lbs, he is toned with noticeable muscles. He has fair skin and a diamond-shaped face. A mirror of his twin.

Bio: As sly as a fox, as ferocious as a Tiger.

The third-born child of King Fletcher of Vahlmean and one half of a twin. The young prince displays great pride in his royal heritage and his culture. He sparsely leaves the royal palace and is always found by his father’s side, whether in war or politics. He is often regarded as the King’s favorite and never fails to flaunt it amongst his siblings. Entrusted to carry on the warrior spirit of Valhmean’s culture, Prince Grantz seeks to make his people stronger by putting them through hardship. His skill with the blade is said to rival his father’s.

Princess Bernice || RO

Appearance: A 5’8" tall adolescent with bright blue eyes and dark hair done in a center-part that runs down her back. At 140 lbs, she boasts a slender physique. Her skin is fair and she has a heart-shaped face.

Bio: As feisty as a Cat, with the tenacity of a Honey Badger.

The first-born of King Fletcher and heir to the throne of Vahlmean. The young princess scorns her culture, so much so that she’s sworn to never pick up a weapon, and advocates for change once she claims the crown. This puts her at odds with the kingdom and her father. Despite this, she continues to advocate against traditional doctrines.

Abeline || RO

Appearance:

Bio: As gentle as a dove, as hardworking as an ant.

An orphan working for the Loyce Bodyguards in order to earn her keep. Despite her condition, the young mercenary strive to realize all her dreams.

A young monk’s pursuit of martial arts mastery is threatened when war erupts between two nations. Fate pulls this warrior from the quiet halls of the temple into the chaos of the battlefield beyond.

From the brief start ive done wanted to make a observationis it to be gender locked? If so might want to give people a heads up in the opening post and a general idea of what the story is about as well. Will continue tonplay and will try to give more input later on when i can since currently at work.

I haven’t read any further than this, but I have to say that the first choice:

• “Yes Father! You are a hero from the second Crimson War and the most decorated knight of Altea. I want to grow up to be just like you!”

feels REALLY clunky and unnatural. When I’m talking to my parents, I don’t go, “Yes, Mother, you are a world renowned painter who was given a medal by the Prime Minister. I want to be just like you!”

Also, I would be remiss to not point out this absolute beauty of a question:

• “Second question. Spell co???”

Makes almost as much sense as my university exams

Overall, though, a fun demo! I liked the writing (mostly), and am curious to see where the story will go moving forward, as well as to meet some new characters.

So it’s decided! I’m going to add a female gender choice. I’ve been lazy to do the extra code for that which is why it’s not there yet lol, but I want everyone to be able to have fun and be anyone they want to be in the game.

It won’t be gender locked anymore tho. I’ll fix it. Thanks again for reminding ne about that.

Lol this is true, but I was trying to give you a little insight on who the father is, and that he’s a big deal in his country. I can go back and make it more natural though. Thanks for pointing this out.

I am glad you like the demo. Sure! There are a wide cast of characters you will meet throughout the game, all with different personalities and philosophies. There’s much more fun stuff to come.

I mean, I can think of a couple of things I’d rather do than my exams (read a book, sleep, watch paint dry, etc.), but overall they’ve all gone fine. Chemistry was the worst, and I’ll probably still manage a B or an A-, so overall not feeling too bad! Hopefully the rest go well too (tomorrow is actually computer science, so wish me luck ).

By right I should have put the synopsis up sooner.

Play as a young serf who dreams of becoming a renowned knight in the Kingdom of Altea, and enter the academy trials to be admitted into the esteemed Altean Knighthood Academy. Once you make it past the trials, begin your training to become a powerful knight and have your name etched in the hall of legends. Meet many new friends and embark on thrilling adventures with them, and develop the skills needed to best your rivals. In two years time, enter the Tournament of Valor to test everything you have learned against the strongest warriors from all over the planet, and make a name for yourself as the next champion of the world. Will you conquer all and win the tournament? Or will you fail miserably and fall to the wayside as wasted potential?
