Man, I love the villainous endings in this game. They are so much more fleshed out than the hero ones.

After playing this game so many time despite it not being complete I can’t help myself but say that I love it, the story is pretty good, interaction between character good and romance no matter what playthrough I would still fall head over heels for ghostling and alloy, and I can’t forget the moment the mc made thaumaturge go on drug trip and almost convince him to give up evil with talk no justsu and now while I do love the game I can’t help but point out somethings

the powers and stats just don’t make sense, especially when you got players putting points in strength which is useless and the only real strength that works in the game is just the power from enhance physique that also don’t make sense why we are not distributing points for enhance physique powerset, the same way that was done for elementalist to control different elements or better yet why didn’t the drug that thaumaturge optionally gave the mc, not give them one of the other enhance physique powerset like lightning for elementalist

and now I gotta talk about that whole hero and villain reputation, the hero reputation is ok, it got no problems but the problem is the villain reputation or what I personally like to call it “you are disappointment to your asian parents”, like how on earth will you give mc villain points for not successfully keeping people safe, for killing a villain and for not preventing your teammate from harming someone, there should have been a separate reputation stats for anti hero and one that details how the mc is just way over they head and is dangerous to the society due to failling to keep a damage to a minimal or protect a innocent, the villain reputation should be there just for mc villainous deeds not to represent the mc as a fuck up

Because the opinion of people on something is ALWAYS based on logic and fact and not just an emotional response that sometime don’t really make sense right ?

bruh emotions and logic don’t matter if someone got hurt, the people just need to put mc into a category that fits the action on whether they were trying to help but got others in danger then put them in dangerous superpowered individuals and if they were just causing harm or chaos for the fun, pleasure or whatever then put them under the villain label

That’s not really accurate – there’s a number of checks in the game which test basic levels of strength (and/or agility) E.g.:

					*if (strength >= 3)
The device goes spinning through the air and hits Propaganda right in the head. He staggers for a moment, then falls on his back with a loud thud.

						Well, that was easy.
						*goto propagandaDefeated
					*else
The device goes spinning through the air and hits Propaganda right in the head, making him contort in pain. When he gets up, there's blood running down his forehead, but it is clear the blow didn't have enough strength behind it to knock him out.

"That hurt, you ${fucker}!" he yells from behind cover, ensuring that you won't be able to try anything like that again.
						*goto meanwhile

Great series with good world building and stellar writing. Also, a great love of comics (tons of easter eggs) with tons of choices, romance options, and costume customization! Too bad we can’t customize our characters appearance more though.

That cliffhanger though… damnit. Only reason it got a 9/10 instead of a full 10/10. It will be a LOOOOONG wait for us even it the DLC comes out next week!

I’m ABSOLUTELY in love with this story. Especially running through it with fully powered with the Scum cheat. From my understanding that there is going to be DLC to finish up this particular story/chapter… My biggest and main question will we be getting more save slots? I’d pay for 3 or move additional save slots lmao. There so much I want to do and check out other endings without having to overwrite saves is like to finish out. Any chance of this happening?

If you’re playing the web browser version of the game (from CoG website) you can use browser console to add dynamic savemod functionality to it, as described here: Save Manager — ChoiceScript Stats 1.0 documentation (choicescript-stats-modifier.readthedocs.io)

It’ll set up 5 save slots by default, though using Method Two you can increase this amount, by changing the line slotCount: 5, to desired number.

Uhhh… Yeah, wow, it’s not even a cliffhanger, it straight up feels like I payed full price for a demo. In my opinion it would’ve been better if it ended with a party, at least then one could claim that B1 was a “getting the team together” arc. The plot is interesting enough to keep a reader hooked without giving up a major villain so cheaply. That weird stunt actually turned me off this, apparently, series, which is a shame, because, once again, I really enjoyed the story. Egg on my face for assuming a 660k word seemingly standalone game to be finished, I guess…

Also for my MC to say so nonchalantly “yeah I figured that I’m Chronomancer btw” in the end was incredibly jarring, because while I the player thought of it pretty soon, my character never told me about it. I figured it was gonna be a major reveal and a cause for a breakdown or two…

Now I love both Zaper and Newberry I think they both are terrific writers and millions time more awesome when they both decide to work together, that why I am very excited about this book being a fan of them both, now this is not a bad book it’s very good imo but it somehow feels rushed especially the final chapter we just about getting to reacquainted with an old friend then it just end, hopefully both the authors fix this by add few more chapters to fleshing out the story more in the update or something and make the ending doesn’t feels rushed I think that would’ve fixing most of the problems people are having about this book.

wow. Looks like the mentors are evil? Or corrupted. that’s kinda sick.

How’d you code dive this, if you don’t mind me asking? I only know how to code dives wips that are posted on dashingdon lol

Some of it doesn’t make much sense (Agent Oakes has been revealed to be Nora in one of the endings but the snippet seems to have her as unrelated individual) so i wonder if those aren’t bits that died on the chopping block, as opposed to continuation.

The tone of that final scene is very unserious so I thought it was a joke, as opposed to some of the others which have been foreshadowed in the game before. The Gepetto Winter’s Lodge plotline, for example, has got to be resolved eventually.

Codediving on the COG website is the same as on Dashingdon, you just need to be logged in. As for codediving on Steam, here’s a guide.

I don’t think so. Those scenes where the mentor stop you is only in the villain route.

It could also be that the identity changes based on what path the story takes.

Thanks for pointing that out. Kinda hard to read them on mobile lol.

What was the name of the scene where you got this, because I read the code of every scenes of the game and never found that.

Oh Boy ! what happen to the game, i was just eager to continue the story.
I turn the background color to black… i try again… and again… decide to live this for later…try to change the size characters… :upside_down_face: something change since last time.

The experience isn’t like in the demo. The classic code background has change (for the confort of mobile player …on steam -_-" ).

Could the authors maybe add those classic options. Center the text regard to the screen player. Leave the classic typo. Thanks. Hope this will get through.

I really enjoyed this game but as others said it really feels like part one of a lager story. I love the customization in it. It should have had a warning or something so people wouldn’t be upset at the sudden ending.

I really laugh cuz that pratically end is the end of the demo (plus some work to make people believe ). For me the story is done. Doing other part of the story will only bring mistrust now.
to please people the dlc will be rush, making people sad. They will again take keybord (making another circle again for more).

This is a too soon release game. If the studio want to make release planning on a story game, it will put more people on the writing story == more people to pay == no more chop story.

Just let authors take more time to make storys, real lengh book story.
