Please note that nothing I say regarding future plans I have are set in stone. I love and encourage the topic of discussion regarding future updates for Triaina Academy, as that gives me a lot of signals for what people may be into, but please try not to get my thread marked by moderators (it’s been clean so far, I wanna keep a streak ). I will denote one thing, which is that while I can understand my decision to make poly relationships, should I choose to, may be discouraged by some if not many, I would have it as the most optional of content, and blocked behind a few decisive choices. I’m also super happy you both believe in my skill to write functional poly relationships, and I hope if it is written, it is considerable enough to be impactful for both you and the npcs
Ended up more of a misunderstanding of what we were talking about lol. How dramatic are the love triangles gonna be like literally fighting at times lol?
Reading the mood of this crowd, if you can work it in organically and if it doesn’t cause too much extra work for you, go for it. If you need to keep it out in this book, or the entirety of the series, I wouldn’t chalk it up as a loss. You have a bunch of interesting characters in here and enough replayability without adding poly, imo.
Edit: (Then again, if I ended up with both of the Exul siblings, I wouldn’t complain either.)
I am pretty sure that if we were to look at a scenario of one man marrying sisters (Jacob from the Bible, for instance) that that would technically be a “poly” relationship.
Ah, but I wouldn’t want them to fight over me. I would end up like Rand al’Thor and pretty much be like, “Can’t I just love you both?” Then some mystical plot device comes along which enables just that.
Well here’s the thing. I don’t think M would fight. It would be a turn on for her, and she loves her sibling who has always been there for her. P OTOH has always looked out for and protected her more vulnerable sibling even to the point of sacrificing her own desires at times. She’d eat her own jealousy rather than hurt her sibling. I don’t see them fighting over a SO. They’d probably both try to yield to the other, and then end up deciding to share.
Maybe she’ll want to be selfish for once and want them for herself and not have to sacrifice it for her sibling? Maybe M would decide to let P have something they really want after all they’ve done for them? MC sharing two siblings sound way to weird for me, until we get to that point who knows. At least it’ll be blocked off if it goes that way and you’re not interested.
If we are going down this rabbit hole of thought, there is probably 1 thing that is going to generate conflict for P (that we know of) and that is M’s “M” tendencies. We already know P doesn’t want people to abuse their sibling as seen as the airport. How is P going to take us slapping around M even if they want us to?
Because M would make the proposal and then P would have to determine if she’s willing to overcome her jealousy. I’m making an assumption that P is devoted and self-sacrificing enough towards her sibling to accept, that she’d like the idea of sharing a home with her sister for the rest of her life. It -could- be the other way around with P walking away. It depends on her own internal mix of emotions.
That’s a very good question. M would have to convince her that she needs this to function and to keep focus, to keep from continually falling asleep at the most inopportune and potentially dangerous times.
M in some very important emotional ways would become the center of the relationship since she’d be the fulcrum making it possible.
I actually really like it! It’s quite a challenge to find poly relationships and/or love triangles in games and such, so I appreciate you giving it a try. Well, I’m not sure what you’re gonna do with the ideia, but if it helps, there’s a game with poly routes in it? If I recall correctly, it’s called When The Night Comes. Other than that, there’s the Wayheaven chronicles, with a love triangle option in the story. Sorry for writing too much, I just thought maybe reading something like those may help you with this ideia, if you wish to move forward with it… Anyways, your work is really good! That’s why I 'm here in the first place (also English is not my first language so there could be some grammatical disasters here, sorry). Please remember to take some rest and keep up the good work! Thanks!
Tin Star easily has the most pollys I’ve seen yet in a choice game. It’s also an amazingly well written game in its own right and one of the longest choice games ever published here. It has both triads and vee’s. They only occur if the MC pursues them.
Weyrwood has a polly of the vee type available for those MC’s who don’t mind becoming the lover of a married woman with her husband’s full approval. That arrangement has the potential to become permanent if the MC wishes.
Tally Ho has a bi polly triad available with your same sex employer and their prospective opposite sex betrothed. Basically the prospective betrothed suggests it if both the MC and their employer have high approvals with the betrothed. Both characters are also available for monogamous relationships, but if you force them to choose, and the other characters’ approval scores are higher with each other than with you, then you will lose. It’s pretty easy to set your employer and their prospective betrothed for failure though if you want either your employer or their prospective betrothed for yourself. In fact their relationship never really gets up off the ground unless you do your duty and make it happen.
heya, updates have been great so far, but i’m stil havin’ a bit of trouble with the stats.
the dream in the prologue and your parents so far seem to have more effects on your stats than any actual training or habits mentioned. i picked 2 choices related to combat (combat ready stance, combat regimen) and yet it’s only 20 and when fighting leah, the game says i’ve never fought before.
but in the dream, i picked that i wanted to help others and picked the orphan background and bam, my charisma’s 25 and my subtlety’s 20.
ya might wanna increase the stat boosts from character descriptions or lower the stat checks or somethin’ or maybe add in another option for stat boost, cuz havin’ a dream and my character’s parents define my characters’s skills and success or failure in situations is a bit odd to me. just sayin’.
