It was a game that @adrao was helping someone else make a few years ago and was left in a state between unfinished and finish. Since it was a game made for replayability for random events to proc while in your lair. I remembered that I made a long comment on a bunch of suggestions for that game.
Sorry @Zarkrai that one is my fault. @adrao was helping me finish it and Iād expected to already be helping to work on it by this point in the year but Iāve been having some IRL stuff that slowed my writing progress right down. Adrao is indeed a busy writer! I donāt know how he does it
Np. Not blaming anyone since I know stuffs irl can be an issue or get overwhelming sometimes. Since someone brought it up, I even thought about replaying the demo but then I remember that thereās a issue with the difficulty somewhat since like I mentioned last year. A knight always shows up with a shield that reflects my fire breath and I didnāt feel like encountering that again at least until thatās fixed.
Edit: Am looking forward to August-September since Adrao might work on it around that point. Hopefully that will introduce romance options this time.

I was not even aware it was possible to NOT kill your familiar, i always get forced to kill it by the warlock, do i like have to somehow take the corpse with me?, if so i have no idea how
There is the possibility of taking the corpse with you and resurrecting your familiarā¦

When attacking Arcanus, you should be given the choice of ā#Grab the dead body of ${familiar_name} from the pedestal, and run out of Arcanusā house.ā Once in Kamakura, if you take the option #It is time to bury poor ${familiar_name}. I take ${familiar_his} body and head to the hills to the north. then you will meet a Kappa. Be nice to the Kappa (maybe give some cucumbers) and you can learn the Resurrect familiar spell .

I was having a hard time getting into this story hoping it would unfold to eventually turn into an adventurous or epic story that involved some joys in at the very least, but felt the entire time the game was very dark just for it to finish even darker than I was expecting. Pretty regretful of purchasing this one. None the less, I know itās just not my cup of tea and others enjoyed it! I loved your Hero or Villain series though! Thank you for producing these stories. I do think the overview of the story was pretty misleading in the sense I never expected it to be as dark as it was. Though Iām sure it wasnāt meant that way.
Hi, I am glad you liked my other games!
Tokyo Wizard was my first published game -well, not counting other games where I just wrote the one chapter-. Originally it was intended as a story for my gf -now wife-, but I entered it into some competition at the time and the theme of it somehow then influenced how I continued to write the game (which was my own take on the competition theme, and not necessarily what may have been intended by them).
So, it became⦠rather dark. Very dark indeed. For me, it is a tale of corruption, and how the reader may attempt to rebel against it, or go along with it. There are a variety of endings, and some are ultimately good (although the possibility of becoming a lich is also somewhat⦠dark; I further went into that in Life as a Lich, which can again be very dark indeed -by the very nature of being a lich-, although it is also possible to play an almost benign creature)
But, certainly Tokyo Wizard is very different from the Hero or Villain series, where you are given much freedom to be, well, either a pretty nasty villain or a very nice hero.
Out of curiosity, which path did you go down through in the game?
I know the question was not directed to me, but I tried many possibilities in Tokyo wizard, I even went into a āto hell with magic Iām going to punch his face outā style once. Last time I went full into becoming the most powerful lich possible, while still kicking the master ass, cause I donāt like him, last time I became a pretty powerful lich in the second game, with 2 dragons, and some pretty powerful summons, even with the bug that made my will go to 0 at some point, and I did became a immortal.
Oh, what bug that made your willpower go to 0? Can you remember where that is?
It was a creation of two Ghouls, I know it is supposed to affect my will, but not that much, it went from 90+ straight to 0
Ah, the ghoul bug. I think I sorted that bug out some time ago.
Is anybody still suffering that bug? (or other bugs, for that matter?)

Itās really impressive to still be getting update for a game so long after release.
I like to think of all my games as āliveā, and āworks in progressā. To be honest, I am happy to implement more changes to any of them, provided that these are relatively limited in scope. Like, I make a distinction between āstructuralā changes and āside quests / minor new scenesā or ācosmetic changesā. I am happy to implement the later two, so whenever I get any feedback I try to set some time aside and quickly implement. For āstructuralā changes I am more reticent, but I still implement them (well, āLife as a Lichā was supposed to be one⦠that grew into a new game).
For Tokyo Wizard I am currently commissioning new artwork for the inside of the game⦠and that may well go together with a significant update to the game!
