Tin Star testing

wyrmspawn- I haven’t decided if having a bullet scar is all that important. My gut says it is worth a legend point. I’ll put it on the list of additions.

Winterborn- Yes, there will be a part where Yiska explains your Indian name. I’ve already written it up in fact… now I just need to make certain that it is accessible through all four paths.

This is perhaps the greatest game of it’s kind that I’ve ever played. And it’s not even finished. I wish I had any constructive criticism… At all, to give you. But really, it’s fantastic.

I can’t wait to buy it when it’s finished!

A snap of the reins keeps the lathered horses at a gallop.

The Bandits aboard the wagon smash and bash at you, but schmidt gives a bellow and crashes aboard, scattering them left and right.

The gang continues to try and clamber aboard the rattling wagon.

Despite the lack of a horse, the remaining team is in fit condition to pull you onward.

The bandits hurriedly drop away from the wagon and scatter. Hungry Snake is the last to leave, casts a toothy smirk over his shoulder be he leaps to a nearby steed and rides away. A glance ahead tells you why they’re all in such a hurry.

Schmidt*

This was on a playthrough with both Carson and Schmidt helping me on the wagon.

“Carson, I’m going out to talk. can you get somewhere and draw down on that fella with your rifle?”

Can*
Confronting Tumbleweed Jack

“It was good to meet you Marshal.” Preston begins as you reach the swinging doors. “I am pleased that you saw sense. Not many men understand how things are out here. I hope we will continue on pleasant term.”

After meeting Preston with Schmidt and Carson with you. I believe term should be terms.

You bring your razor sharp knife around as he slices and land a blow that slips past Snake’s a desperate weaving of Snake’s knives, puts him on the ground in a heap.

Sentence needs a fixin :B

FortunesFaded- Thanks. I hope the ending will fit the rest of it. Were there any parts in particular that you liked?

Ninjasplaycardgames2- Ah, good catches there. I appreciate you taking the time to write them down for me. I’ll update the dropbox when I finish chapter 9. More than halfway done with that now… and it appears there will need to be a very short chapter 10 so I don’t go over the one meg limit per chapter.

glad to be of service

“Despite the incessant labor, people readily gossip about how you convinced an entire saloon of the guilt of Mister Steele. Indeed, those where were there and ‘voted’ take a special pride in having done the right thing.”

"“Yep. He’s a careful man who still got all his fingers. She says, gently sets aside the top.”
There is a " missing after the first sentence.

“Preston swaggers over, a lit cigar in hand. “Well done, Friend.” The town, my town, is going to be just fine.” "
And here is one too many.

“Was that a lawyer joke?” Yiska considers, “because I have good one. How many lawyers does it take to fill up a pig-pen? The answer is simple; how many were in there to begin with?”
There is an “a” missing in “because I have good one”

"A glance in the saloons fails to find Miss Caraway. The Grand Haven hotel has seen her either, but out back of the barn where she keeps her horse, you find her oiling her saddle. "

“Miss Caraway eases from the card game, shifts her pistols idly. “You know, I’d better get my shotgun. And my rifle. Plenty of powder of course, and a few spare knives wouldn’t hurt neither.””
That’s the passage I get right after that. Maybe I missed a paragraph, but it seemed strange that she was having a card game while oiling her saddle

“Passages twist, narrow until you have to squeeze sideways or crawl to get through. All in the dark, of course; there point here is to sneak up on the enemy after all.”

"Miss Caraway lets loose a bit of happy whistling as she sights your office. “Its the tin-star hotel. Rooms are free to a privleged few.” "

“Hundreds of men labor ahead of the track. The first shift the ground like the tide receding from shore, leave a clear and flat path through what had once been rough and wild.”

"Amid the hustle and the bustle, a colorful flap of cloth draws your eye to a familiar wagon as it eases into the camp. Barrels, boxes and sacks adorn it and are swiftly unloaded by the Chinese rail-men. It seems that Wong Dai Choi has returned to more ordinary routes after his journey farther east.

The colored cloth ruffles along one side as that familar old merchant steps out and catches your eye. “Ophelia Marlow! What a pleasant surprise.” "
In this playthrough I never met the Chinese merchant before (I didn’t visit him when he was in town), but this pops up nonetheless.

"As your watch, he tenders a century egg to an eager young fellow then sends the man on his way with a kind word. "

"“Exactly.” Yiska replies, exchanges a quick and erudite greeting with a much surprised Hayworth. Soon enough, the Shoshone are settled into the camp’s defenses. for the new arrivals. "
There seems to be something amiss with the last part of the sentence.

I loved the concept of your own “Legend”, as well as how you could upgrade your gear and build/repair your structures. All of the chapters were quite solid, so like I said I didn’t dislike anything. Perhaps one thing I would have liked to have seen though (unless it was there and I simply missed it in my run-through) is more about the relationship between Caraway and her father. My character was extremely close to her, however I didn’t really talk so much with the father so it is quite possible I simply missed the chance to learn about any of it. But other than that… Fantastic.

@AllenGies:
Possible error:
You expect that Regina (I had captured Reginald, not Regina) will not plead guilty, and so a listing of all she had in her possession, and the items left by the raiders, will help a jury find her guilty.

Items for your consideration:
Miss Caraway stays close to you as the cold nights come, warms things up and promises even more as winter comes on.
Q: Is She faking that she still loves me? I pulled an Indiana Jones and shot Hungry Snake (instead of fighting with axe) and she was angry but then she is still with me and never attacked me later.

Q: What about having Saber training with Maria to improve friendship or romance?

Q: Frank was there driving the stagecoach…wouldn’t he speak up here?
“Those men I bled and sent back to you. At least one should’ve made it to Preston Springs.” Hartigan says.

Q: If MC was In relationship with schmidt and caraway but then chose schmidt, when facing Caraway down wouldn’t Schmidt run out to protect me?

Q: Is Schmidt a player? Seems like there is something going on between him and Miss MacMurphy. Is he cheating on the MC?! Or just a flirt? What if MC finds he has been cheating…ooohhh?
You look in, find Schmidt at the front desk talking sweet to Miss MacMurphy. The part owner of the Grand Haven Hotel, not to mention the Babylon saloon next door, idly shifts the high collar of her sapphire blue dress as she most definitely flirts back at the big Prospector. Indeed, they are of a similar age and have an ease to their conversation that lets them flow like twin streams into one river. It is a bit of a wonder then that Miss MacMurphy even notes you in the window, and more typical that she gently leads Schmidt away, leaving you alone and outside. “Ah, there’s the bear!” Miss MacMurphy calls out.

Q: Schmidt comes out to help me but then it says he warily approaches after he already helped stitch me up.
Good thing the Cowboy didn’t get off a good shot. As it stands, the Prospector has to come out and give you a hand with things. “I’ve got a few bits and pieces to put you back to rights, but I ain’t done much of this.” The Prospector tells you. “What’d you want Old Schmidt to use for stitches?” That does the trick. Pity you won’t be able to play much of a tune with it. At least, not in public.
***Gray smoke seethes out from your pistol as the Prospector warily approaches. “Tarnation, Missy, what’d you do that fer?” The Prospector says, shakes his head. Up close he’s a beefy strip of rawhide, weathered but solid through and through. “Not that I mind you taking a hand, but it seems all sudden like.”

Q: I did not save Andy but in the wrap up it says I did during a couple playthroughs (one with reference to lightening and one without)
Andy Smith was no great player in the old west, but after you brought him back from the brink of death he had plenty to say. In some tellings you just yelled at him real loud to bring him back to life. In others you shot lightning from your finger tips and set his heart to stuttering like a telegraph. And still other tales involved a badger and a dollop of honey. But not (*no)matter the how, it always remains you who (*remove who?) were his savior that day. Three Legend points awarded.

I noticed that when talking to Maria you have the option to say that New Orleans is your city, how about some conversation options with the woman from New Orleans? I want to say Eve is her name, but I’m bad with names.

Is there going to be anything done with library someone wants to start? Perhaps the MC can donate some copies of their dime novels?

Oh just had a thought about the dime novels. If anyone is going to make money on the marshall’s adventures, shouldn’t it be him or her? How about the marshall gets a ghost writer, so all those dimes find their way into his pocket?

@stsword , I believe you can receive money from the dime novels by autographing them

Yes, you can, but that’s chicken feed compared to the money someone else is making off of you in the game.

A glory hound marshall can see it as an opportunity to increase their own legend, an merchantile marshall would want that income stream himself.

Nasdaxow- So many typos found and now fixed. Thank you. I always hate to encounter those in a book or game.

FortunesFaded- That’s a good point about Miss Caraway and her father. I’ll put it on the list. There has to be a few ways to introduce some interesting bits about them, though they are both reticent about their familial relationship for different reasons.
