@stsword you meat her by going into the fortress by yourself and convicting the sentry to let you in
Miss Caraway: “Nothing. I was shoot at nothing and I hit it.”
I think that should be “shooting” instead?
Asked about her mother: Miss caraway gives a rare sigh. "She might have, if I’d known her. "
Capitol C missing on Caraway.
“Yes, yes!” Amundsen nods vigorously. “You are man we want. Come to camp, meet wife, talk. There is work here.”
But I was playing as a female…
Returning from Red Ribbon Mining incident:
JT Preston come to greet you and not alone either.
Should this be JT Preston “has come”?
Found a few typos in this part, while trying to get the stagecoach thru: Missing capitol S, comma before “fire”? Should be “sends him reeling” instead of “sends reeling”.
You and Hungry snake swing your barrels about to face one another. fire in the same instant. Thankfully, a last moment dip in the ground spoils his aim and sends reeling to the rear of the wagon while cursing up a steam in Newe.
Something funky happening here when returning from stagecoach run:
“Lot of trail dust in your throat?” Preston asks, “then best you whet your whistle and quick. Just go in and tell them that I’m running you a tab from now on.” “well that’s easy enough to fix. I’m going to be having lunch soon. You’re welcome to dine and drink, and you don’t have to say a word.”
Missing capitol S:
Frank spears is taken back into the Mother-Lode, no doubt to occupy the same bed he’d been recovering in just days before.
Missing capitol C and S:
Miss caraway glances at the still laden wagon, “someone’s gonna be pissed about all this. Why don’t you come sit with me.”
Missing capitol S:
Sam notes, “say, let me buy you a drink sometime. The beer in the Evening Star is sweet when I’m paying by the bottle and not the shotglass.”
Should there be a period instead of comma after replies?
“Don’t I know it.” Sam replies, Sam nods, glances over your shoulder at where a stage coach is putting horses to harness. “Well, I got a seat waiting.”
Missing capitol C:
Miss caraway breathes deep, gives a grin. "I just love that smell. There’s just something about charged powder. The promise that something is gonna happen and soon.
This is Miss Caraway talking about Hungry Snake…Missing capitol D?
She notes, adds “don’t think too badly of him for his part in things. He can be a real charmer.”
I think this should be “pine box” instead of “pox”.
It doesn’t take long to get a pine pox put together for Steele, or whatever his name truly was or had been before.
Should this be ‘it’s there" instead of "its there’? And I think it should be “it has got all day” instead of “it is has.”
Winter comes on slow like a herd on the horizon; its there, and you can’t miss it, but it is just strolling along like it is has got all day.
Should this be “She then eases out” instead of “They”?
“No one can forsee the future.” Julie says softly, “not even me.” They then eases out the door toward a stagecoach before which many a bag has been piled.
I think this should be “saying” instead of “say”:
Well, I suppose we’ll see whether what you’re say is true soon enough." Preston notes and more than a few ears prick up at his tone.
Should this be “losing” instead of “lose”:
“I don’t want to be lose what I got. That’s for certain.” Matthew agrees warily. “I’ll chip in the few picks and shovels I’ve got lying around.”
Duplicate “to”:
Hartigan :“Right, right. Trying to forget that apparently.” He sighs, motions for you to continue on. “To to quote Shakespeare, lay on MacDuff.”
Calvary departure:
“And to you with your travels, Marshal Steele.” Baker replies, tips his hat and rides off with Dalton trailing behind.
But I had told him I was NOT Marshal Steele…
I go to pet my cat : should this be He instead of Your?
Your stares over at your approach, then surrenders to the bliss of your touch with a purr you can feel in your bones.
VoodooDolly- Good catches there. Especially the Condesa/Countessa part. They are translations of one another, but Maria should initially refer to her title in her native tongue.
I’m glad you got a kick out of the romantic entanglements. The characters were all diverse enough that once I put myself in the right frame of mind, the scenes seemed to write themselves.
piggleywinks- Wow. What have you been eating?
Those are a great many typos and coding errors. I’m going to have to update the drop box soon. Many thanks.
stsword- as bocoom said, Little Boots only shows up if you talk your way past the sentry. She was a strange one to write, coming as she did out of nowhere. First a young man with overly large boots, then a woman in disguise and finally she got a heft dollop of future-story if you talk to her in different ways.
As for the deputies; the three main companions (Carson, Schmidt and Caraway) are all possible choices but they require either a high influence, high persuasion or a lesser mix of both. There are a few other factors that will let you sway them regardless, but I don’t want to spoil things.
The other three deputy choices are Frank Spears, Andy Smith and Sam Pitcavage. Sam is kind of the last option as he is not as good as the others at the job but he can always be selected regardless of prior player choices.
Did it feel too difficult to get the deputy you wanted?
Allen, I had issues last time I played, so I haven’t gotten that far since asking my question, I’ll try again now though.
Huh did you increase the difficulty of shooting the bear? I chose sharpshooting as my first priority as usual, I chose riding as my last priority as usual, and now I’m becoming bear food.
Actually, is shooting the bear the only way to kill that bear? Is it possible to kill the bear with enough gun-fighting?
stsword- Odd. With a high enough sharpshooting, you should be able to to one-shot the bear. However, in some situations, you do need some riding skill otherwise your horse spooks and you can’t get off an aimed shot.
Did you alter your choice of companion this last play through? That can also affect things. Having Carson along makes the riding challenge easier. Having Schmidt around, well, he’s good against bears.
hahaha01357- There are many ways to deal with the bear and three ways to kill it; with a rifle, a pistol or hand to hand. The test that uses gunfighting is the highest of those (51 in some scenes, 42 in others) as pistols are inaccurate, especially against charging bears. Of course, it is still pretty easy to get eaten by a bear by trying to punch it…
I think I might have to revisit this as I haven’t touched that chapter for many months.
No, Allen, I didn’t change anything like that, same companion as always (Carrie), same priority on riding (last) and sharpshooting (first), but all of a sudden I’m bear chow, the only thing I changed was replacing gunfighting with persuasion in character creation.
Well I got through it, I just made sure to practice solely with my rifle once before the bear event, I guess I just made a choice that lowered my rifle skill a little bit without realizing it.
Oh, and Haha, something you might want to try is prioritize your intimidation and you can send the bear running for its life, which is pretty awesome.
Hmm, sadly I didn’t get to really interact with Little Boots, Carrie went with me, so do I need to not take Carrie along to get the interaction with Little Boots?
I have to say I’m surprised that Maria is willing to share, she seems pretty proud, but then again I am well aware that having a wife and a girlfriend is completely normal when marriages are political.
Is there a way to ‘share a bed’ with Maria and Carrie?
I’d doubt it Etzel, when I saw that option I suddenly pictured Robbie the Robot shouting “Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!”
But what do i know, I was surprised that Maria would share at all.
@AllenGies
I was in a relationship with Yiska and Carrie. When they confronted me I chose Yiska but next thing I know I’m with Carrie instead. Thanks for taking a look at that!
How do you romance Preston. I can’t for the life of me figure it out.
Lexy, your question was answered last page, here’s a hint slap slap kiss.
Cool thanks, I couldn’t see pages cause I’m looking at this from my phone phone.
stsword- I think your change in choosing persuasion over Gunfighting in your initial priorities moved your stats ever so slightly. Gunfighting is, after all, a close cousin to Sharpshooting.
The scenes with Little Boots should be available regardless of companions, just so long as you go in to talk and not fight. If not, then I need to change that.
pigglywinks- Good catch there. One wrong scene title would have screwed that all up.
@AllenGies
First meeting Carson and Schmidt, Revealed tin-star:
The Prospector eases the hammer down on his side-arm before he holsters it. “Looks to be. And I’ll take his judgment over yours, Cowboy, every day of the week and twice on Sunday.”
But I was playing as a female.
There is a loop that I keep getting stuck in now…after Frank and Andy get attacked by the gangers, I ride out to catch up with the gangers and meet up with the Bishop and riders from Albion Falls. I cant move past the discussion with the Bishop anymore. It’s like there was a temporal distortion that ruptured the spacetime continuum, trapping me in a causality loop…
