From what sheâs said on Patreon, sheâs going to release chapter 1 to the public next. She usually waits a week or two after releasing on Patreon before making it public.
raises hand I was pleased that progress with M had not been reset the way it had been for b2 and b3, but it still rubs me the wrong way that itâs always the same contrived bullshit for starting the next book. They couldâve had contact and spent time alone that we donât have to see, with the first scene setting the mood for it. Spoilers aheadâŚ
Like, instead of giving the choice of âlast night was the first time weâve seen each other in three weeks and we bonedâ (without showing the actual boning), it couldâve been something along the lines of âwe havenât had much time together due to my training, but when we have seen each other⌠make a choice⌠we boned, we talked, sometimes we boned and sometimes we talked, we texted, we chatted on the phone, we didnât bother trying to see or talk to each otherâ, followed by a short paragraph about it and then the choice for now of boning last night or not.
Doing it like this would have also make the whole âwaking up to an empty bedâ more pertinent, since it could be stated that that has been a constant over the last three weeks, blah blah blah. Doing it that way wouldâve given the scene more depth, given the M/MC interactions more depth, and made it feel like both the MC and M made an effort to be together even when theyâre busy. In other words, it would paint a better scene than a âthree weeks passed and we couldnât find five seconds to communicate with each other until nowâ excuse. Itâs supposed to be about romanceâso fucking make it about the romance.
Because it is. The list of ridiculous things being used to stretch out the romance seems to be never-ending.
Exactly. Now you can get to know each other again, only to have that undone at the end of this book. âHahahahaha!â

That was the exact scene I pictured, lol. I loved Brooklyn 99.
N gets the detailed sex scene, replete with the MC fluttering and fanning themselves over how suave N is. M gets âyou boned last night, it was hot or whateverâŚâ. What I read it as: âPeople liked M too much in b3, so you get no boom-boom in b4. N is the sex god/dess, not M! Hahahaha!â
Then again, after the weird âwtf is going onâ sex in b3, maybe that isnât a bad thing, but she put a hell of a lot of effort in the N sex scene in chapter 1.

The problem with that is that M is from what I gather the most liked RO (I am biased also ) and there are readers who actually only plan on romancing M so it actually potentially is detrimental to her success.
If Ms romance sucks I am not sure I can stomach the series for another 7 years or whatever her writting takes.
I only moan here because I want to likr this 
but maybe actually seeing her posts on Tumblr was a big mistake for me as it basically killed my enthusiasm and hopes

Same here, for all of it. Plus, I remember seeing on tumblr (I think thatâs where it was) that the LIs will be avoiding the MC for part (or most?) of this one, which means yet another setback for M-mancers, since M is still at that point where they just wave and walk away without a thought if MC leaves or wonât be around. Having to wait until the end of this book or b5 for M to pull their head out of their ass is grating, especially since A will almost certainly stop fighting their feelings by the end of b4. So M is actually more âslow burnâ than A and really just needlessly dragged out longer just to fuck with people who like M.
Seven? Iâd count on 12-15, and thatâs being optimistic. B3 was released three years after b2, and now there is more shit to deal withâTina and her spy boo, Douglas being a supernatural, Bobby knowing about the supernatural, Verda going with the Agency or not, etc., plus a brand new romance in b4 with the villainâand all that will take even more time to write. Of course, there really arenât any real choices in the romances themselves, so the bloat comes from all the extraneous shit.
But still, each one will take longer than the last to get done. So seven years⌠that isnât gonna happen. Best case scenario is three years per installment, but Iâm betting on four for b4 (weâre over a year into it already, so only three more), five or six for b5 (which will be huge due to the âangstâ bullshit), probably at least that for b6, and seven for b7, since it will be huge and wrap everything up.

Iâm sure Iâve asked this before but I donât remember the answer.
Can our MC focus on two specializations at the same time? Or should I focus on a single one? Iâm talking about some possible conflicts with âin-game checksâ.
You can get one really high and one semi-high pretty easily. If you focus on two completelyâand leave the other two around zeroâyou can get the two you focus on quite high. For my MC, I have a couple different runs, with different skill distributions. On one, she has 90 in combat and in the high seventies in science, with 1 in people and around 20 for deduction.

As a fellow A-mancer I feel your pain. I have a secondary mc romancing M but my main mc is in too deep nowâŚ
I play my mc as someone who is also stoic and not good with feelings so her and A communicating is like two brick walls.
