This should be the new official way of calling it.
In Germany there is a similar saying: âDer Weg zur Hölle ist gepflastert mit guten VorsĂ€tzenâ, I once read a similar saying in a Terry Pratchett book, so there must be a one really like it in English too.
Love is a complicated thing, but like you I think the LT is a good plot, just not what I want to play. Others might like the angst and drama, IÂŽm just not like that^^. I played every other rout and loved them all, I did not thin F was my thing, but I enjoyed it very much.
Yup, sera has said that there isnât going to be wrong choices that have a large effect on the storyline and game. But not every choice has a poitive effect, if that were the case the TWC wouldnt have thousands of ppl in love with it. An example of a negative affecting choice would be murphy escaping or another could be the vamps reacting all angsty whenever mc says bad things about vampires and supernaturals. You are right though, this game isnât like some of the other cogs. You canât lose or die, which is why I love it so much, there are more than enough games where its âgame overâ if you pick the wrong choice, but twc is a story where you can relax but at the same time enjoy the thrilling relationships you have with everyone!
Still I prefer more complex consequences to my actions. Basically because I hate sugar ponies and rainbows normally. I want if I harm someone that person hates me not still following me like a puppy. Still I understand this is more targeted to the ponies and rainbows fans. So I understand the situation.
Still I love the story and characters even if tend to be far more sugary goodies that my usual preferences.
But there will still be complex situations, take the LT for example, if you do chose to play it your choices to flirt with either N or A have a big effect on the characters, that scene that @Meira_Litch posted shows that If you flirt more with A, N and other members of unit bravo will begin to notice, hence F mentioning that mc is going after A more than they go after N. If love triangle isnât what ur after than Iâm sure there will still be scenes in each romance that have an impact, like N being overprotective, if mc has an argument with them, I donât think N or mc will just forget about that, sera said that this could be one of ur problems in the relationship or it could be something you love, either way there will probably be different things in each romance that have some sort of change, sera is a great writer so she might just surprise you .
Love triangleâŠwill make everything akwardâŠ
Just imagine the fun!
And the angst! Me lives for the angst!
F̶u̶n̶!̶
Pain, and tears
Fify
yeah Iâm kinda dreading the love triangleâŠeven thinking of doing the different route of A and N firstâŠthen think about it some moreâŠmaybe in a couple of years I grow the nerve to do it
I canât choooooose between A and N
itâs delicious thoughâŠ
Tis ez A first because sheâs fiery and N last cuz sheâs sweet like dessert
Do N then do A then do N then do AâŠeverytime you think you gonna choose oneâŠyou go back to the othersâŠ
Misery love compagny endless loopâŠ
Except the LT players are willingly shoving their faces in front of the ball lol
Lol, the love triangle is definitely something. I was reluctant to play it but for some reason in every cog I have to play each route or it wont feel fulfilling. Itâll always be like âI wonder what ever happened in the LT routeâŠâ , also, by the time I tried the LT route I had played the other routes each like 10 times so I was like âyou know what?â and I just played it.
I understand what @poison_mara is saying, though. Itâs not the fact that the mc feels something for more than one person, itâs the fact that they hide it. (We donât for sure know that thatâs what will happen, I hope it doesnât.) Having conflicting feelings while dating N is out of our detectiveâs control and I see no issue with it, but keeping that knowledge from N, pretending everything is fine, is lying. Especially when they are also having moments with A separately. N has the right to disengage from this situation, and them being in the dark makes them an unknowing participant and robs them of that agency.
If you play your mc as clueless to whatâs going on with A, then I suppose it works, but I hope that wonât be mandatory, as my detective (and a number of peopleâs detectives Iâd assume) are introspective and emotionally mature enough to figure out whatâs going on. And once figuring it out, she would immediately put things on hold to try to figure out what to do.
Edit: actually, perhaps @Seraphinite could comment on this if itâs not too presumptuous to ask?
Exactly, I had being in a relationship and then feeling something for other person I just say that to my bf and we give us a time . We ended up as friends . It is the right way to go, you have to follow your heart but being sincere with everyone.
I myself couldnât imagine Being with a guy while thinking in other. I mean youâre hurting everyone if you donât say anything.
However, This is a game so Uf people found interesting the route is okay lol. Is not real life. Still I donât found funny this route so I wonât play it.
Same gurl. Just thinking about it makes me feel bad lmao.
Well here the thing: my MC is lying to herself. She trying to convince herself that her feelings for Adam is not needed. She want to get over him.
Poor girl doesnât want to accept that love doesnât work this way.
So she trying to control her feelings and build something with someone who want that.
So yeah. She IS lying. To herself in the first place.
Is it bad? Yeah. Fooling yourself will never help you.
But sheâs just too stubborn to admit it (just like Adam).
But still I feel pretty bad for Nate. So I never choose any romantic option in conversation with him. Well except âhold his gazeâ in a first book.
So thatâs my vision of all this LT situation.
I was under the impression that it is A who is in denial, and who will reject the MC outright if the MC attempts to initiate a romance before A is ready to accept her growing feelings for the MC. Furthermore that readiness will be a long time in coming as A will deny and resist any feelings she develops for a human. So it isnât that the MC is in denial so much as the character to whom the MC possibly feels the greatest attraction. Does the MC move on when theyâre rejected? Or do they obsess over someone who rejected them hoping A will change her mind? And if the MC does move on and start something with N, what happens when A eventually realizes she made a terrible mistake? And thatâs how we have a love triangle.
I think one of the fun things about this story/game is that the MC can, in fact, be in denial right along there with A.
So it depends on how you want to roleplay it. The options are there. Want to play someone who tried for A but got shut down so you decided to try to move on? Yep. Want to play as someone who is drawn to A for some reason and wants to be in denial? Yep. Plus, variations in between.
I think that is why there seems to be such differing viewpoints of the LT. Thatâs why I can see both sides of the argument when they talk about âcheating.â There is so much room for how you want to play that I donât think you can make a blanket statement either way (is cheating for sure vs. not cheating).
Damn so much Love triangle discussion and its only book 1. Just wait until N finds out about Aâs feelings. Then A finds out about N finding out about Aâs feelings, then mc realising this and having toâŠoh you get the POINT
