I use the highlighting as well. So much easier to read and keep things a bit more organized.

I have been waiting for my Mc’s will they/won’t they relationship with Ava to continue and I am not disappointed.

Also for typos; every time tires are mentioned in the story you spell it (tyres) when it should be [tires]

I’m not sure if I ever got around to posting on the first Wayhaven thread – I know I started writing something, but I can’t remember if I ever finished it.

It’s funny to me that you uploaded the demo today, as I was literally just thinking about the first book yesterday and how I couldn’t wait for the second book. I got very, very into the first book – I must have played thirty, forty times, no joke – to the point I wrote a few thousand words of fanfiction for my eyes only. It hit so many tropes I love, and quite honestly, I feel like the interactive novel medium was made to tell stories like this.

Wayhaven reminded me just how much I love vampires. I was ravenous for vampire content, so I rewatched Buffy and reread the Southern Vampire Mysteries series. I needed more, so I outlined the entire first book of a vampire romance series (which turned out to be far more comedic than broody). Honestly, it’s a little ridiculous just how much Wayhaven got me into vampires.

Needless to say, my excitement for book two is astronomical. When I saw the demo, I let out a shriek that sent the ten cats I’m petsitting running for cover. Three of them have yet to come out of hiding.

That’s the British way of spelling it. I asked her about it when it had popped up in Book 1… COG say it’s fine, so we left it like that.

Oh man it has been a hot minute since I posted on this forum (since book one was still a demo, actually), but holy hell I had to say something.

Or, as it turns out, many somethings.

Sera, my heart beats for you and these damn vampires. I played all of the routes in this demo (and Mason’s twice… because I love dying :upside_down_face:) and just, wow it’s good to have new content, rather than just playing book one 50 times. I really like how you kept the plot moving forward while still making references to book one events. You dealt with what happened with Murphy in an organic way that doesn’t bog down the story. And you added height options! (:eyes: at Nate. My ~5’4" and under~ detective is gonna stand on a stool and smooch your beautiful face). Also, Felix is a d o r a b l e.

Adam gets special attention because he has always been my favorite, and he has somehow captured my heart more securely in just these three chapters. Some of his lines just… I can’t handle this lol. His fierce respect of the detective and innate need to Protect makes me absolutely MELT (not to mention his little gestures like when he gently touched the scar on my detectives neck hhh) and you did this Sera, you evil mastermind! And the love triangle oh my god. When I played book one I did the individual routes before doing the love triangle because I knew I would not be able to emotionally handle it, and was I ever right. Yet you somehow made the drama of book one seem tame with the raw angst and tension in the love triangle, holy hell. My heart is broken already.

I’m really bad at articulating for an extended period of time (or just in general) so I can’t really talk about everything I loved and all of my thoughts, but the demo is just wonderful. I can already tell book 2 is going to be a rollercoaster (carnival pun? You decide). I cannot wait for the rest of the chapters to be released, and the eventual complete book 2 (AHHH).

EDIT: I remembered the other thing I wanted to talk about! I missed the other people at the station like, a lot. When you walk up and Tina is all glammed out I just started grinning because I just knew there was someone attractive doing something attractive and I just couldn’t help thinking how much I loved her. And then Douglas being an absolute dorkus because he’s got a Big Crush on my detective and Verda being perfect. Unit Bravo obviously gets most of the attention but you’ve crafted this world and these characters with so much impact. By the way, Captain Sung is an interesting character. I am unsure what I expected him to be like but I hope we see more of him. I feel like he could potentially be an antagonistic force depending on your interactions with him and how you operate as detective.

Forgot to mention this, but I really, really loved that last scene just before the demo ended! It was beautifully haunting, and had very different vibe than book 1, as it should have. I am now even more excited about the whole carnival setting, ahh.The writing was, once again, so atmospheric and good. I also really like the way Sera describes nature, it adds its’ very own feeling to the story.

Ok ok, just realised I have been typing all my messages on the other thread. Sera, let me tell you that I LOVE FELIX WITH ALL MY SOUL. I cried (like actually cried, not being dramatic here), and it’s just the demo :sob:

Also, there is a typo here

Aaaa I loved the demo! Great work as always, Sera!

Some things I wrote down during my first playthrough

So, I scarf down my remaining breakfast, chug back my coffee, then head out of the door while hoping I don't get indigestion.
Maybe add a virable or something to check for coffee/tee/water preference? Like with the bakery scene in book 1. It’s a minor thing, I just despise coffee lol

Another stab of laughter pierces through me, and I flash my gaze up. My panicked focus can see nothing in the gloom. Soon, the dark shadow begins to creep over me, sinking into my very being.
For the choices that follow this scene, maybe add something like a “stay still”/“observe what happens” choice? Something like that is always my prefered choice whenever something happens.

I’ll be back should I notice something else during the next bijillion time I’m gonna play through this.

Welp, I just spent hours going through almost every choice I could. Can safely say it was time well spent.

The only compliant I have about this game is that I’m gonna have to replay it like eight times.

Ahh just what I need to alleviate my boredom man I really the love the back and forth flirting with Morgan and it’s written so well and I love that the romance isn’t rushed either I cannot wait for this to come out.

I just finished playing the demo of Book Two. I was grinning like a fool while my professor was lecturing . Loved the game.

The love triangle broke me…hard. I just can’t anymore. I love Ava and Nate but I have to pursue them separately. I can’t shake off the feeling like one of them (or both) will just end up being hurt. Sera why are you doing this to me??? :sob::sob::sneezing_face:

Okay, I think my heart has calmed down now. Again, loved the game.
