The Wayhaven Chronicles: Book Three (WIP -FINAL DEMO)

I agree but I think it’s just a very odd and weird staple of the genre that whenever werewolves or lycanthropes come into play they’re going have animalistic qualities that are NOT cool, cringey, sometimes downright creepy and absolutely out of place.

@alttea @EvilChani @ravens Yeah, the counterargument to “F is totally socialised, there are other units” is “have you met the other units? there’s not a single one of these people that’s socially functionable”. I’m an asocial introvert by nature and a misanthrope by experience, and STILL have more social skills than these people, possibly put together.

You step back and they keep approaching. These two have no concept of personal boundaries.

If last time is any indication, Farrah needs to learn to give massages because I happen to like my back UNbroken.

And your pick for this is Rebecca? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: I’m bringing in Tina instead. Give me another one or two books and even Douglas might be better.

I see what you’re saying, and agree that there could be issues relating to UB, in that case. They could still fall into their tropes, though–with A being hurt over losing people in the past and not wanting to be close to a human, with F being whatever, N being Mr. Saint, and M liking to bang (and still did the one-time only thing because people got too clingy in the past and they never felt that ‘love’ thing they hear other people talking about, plus they have no memories from being human). But all this could’ve given the MC a broader range of responses instead of “fluster, fluster, blush blush, shit-my-pants-because-my-LI-looked-at-me” over and over and over again while the LIs are a bunch of backwards weirdos.

Dezh just said she’s nothing like R. I liked that one of the chamber members liked that. I have a feeling it’d be fun to have a conversation with that one. I think it was the spidery one…

I mean, A’s Sera’s favorite, I think, and A’s a dick. So, apparently, manners are overrated. Unless it’s from M, then you can call them a dick…

Dezh took no issue with it, but she’s worked with rescuing wolves in the past and they sniff all over you. My other MCs were like, “Um, back off…”

Let’s put Verda in charge, he seems like the most rational and adult person in the entire city.

Or Verda’s kid. From her interactions with UB, I can tell that kid is going places.

“You look strong. Can I get that strong?”
“If you work hard.”
“Work hard?! Hard pass, bye.”

I love that kid.

Yes! Sera is really good at writing children. Scanning the code, I love the ice cream scene at the blood drive. That was so fitting…

Very true. Except i didn’t tell him about the supernatural so one of the only people that makes sense barely in the story.

I mean sure but it still doesn’t make sense of their reaction, manners or no manners like wouldn’t it be more weird to yell at your FBI agent mom in front of the secretary of state?

Well, at the very least the Chamber meeting made me finally rest my worries about Agency being the bad guys
No way they could have pulled that off without Rebecca.

But see, I actually like Tina. And Douglas. So yeah, Rebecca can continue babysitting them 24/7 and get away from me.

I’ve initially thought that Verda would be a good fit for the Agency, he’ll love learning about supernaturals. But after that meeting nope, hes too good for them.
In fact, let me just grab Verda, Tina and Elidor and start our own PI agency. We’ll do so much better.

I haven’t either, personally I feel like I did him a favor without knowing.

We should make a coup with Sin and have him, Verda and the Detective in charge, let’s make the agency effective.

Valid point. Two of my MCs are always on the verge of yelling at her, so it fit for them, even if they just made a snide comment and scoffed at her. There’s a lot of scoffing in this series. And chuckling.

MC’s name from here on out should be Chucklefuck.

Anything that gets Rebecca away from the MC is welcome. Can we make her move away and get married to someone?

What meeting? Verda met with those assholes??

I knew there was a reason I liked you… I mean, other than you having good taste and a distaste for angst…

I hear there’s a rogue djinni in Abu Dhabi, we need someone to look into it…

See, that’s the neat part. They don’t.

I mean the meeting with the Chamber. If these are ‘the best’ I’m not sure they deserve Verda xd

I’ll be perfectly fine with our ‘four calls a year’ routine, it worked so well for years now, can we get back to that?

asocial introverts unite! Separately! In their own homes!

I honestly don’t know how the agency stay “functioning” all these years. They are incompetent. Their agents getting kidnapped left and right and they can barely react.
I get that sin is super rare supernatural or whatever but they sit around in the chamber all day and do what exactly?

I’m kind of curious why she didn’t go down this path with A, actually, with them being the oldest, the age gap thing could have worked in that scenario and been interesting. Have A be the weary vampire who has seen and lost enough over the centuries and doesn’t want a relationship with the MC because they are mortal…but then they suddenly come to start to believe in love again. As it currently is, I’m kind of not sure what A’s issue is yet.

there are auctions (plural), with huge crowds attending, where supernaturals are being sold
but they sit around in the chamber all day and do what exactly

Oh right, I forgot, they didn’t get an invitation before so they couldn’t go and stop it, that would have been rude.

Angst.

That would make sense so that’s why it won’t be in the books.

They have a mole in the agency right? That’s the biggest issue. They keep getting their tech stolen, their people to be stolen and sold etc.
