The Wayhaven Chronicles: Book Three (WIP -FINAL DEMO)

Sigh To be a Vampire…

Now that would be fun. And the only way to beat Time itself.

because we didn’t have a sexy trenchcoat?

I’m totally gonna make my mc be a Vampire. I didn’t bond with everyone so damn hard, got my mc butt kicked…left and right, just to die a lousy death like some boring mortal. Screw that…

N drops the become a vampire card a bit too much for my liking in this book and they’re taking for granted that the detective would agree, whereas M, A and F simply don’t. N making decision for the MC is starting to get on my nerves. At this rate my N-manger would say no to the vampire debacle just to spite N. My A-manger would say yes in a heart beat, I’m not so sure for my M and F-mancers. Will see how the romance evolves.

I was on tumblr for a while and the impression I got was that A was not very liked, he was probably third or last. Whereas is was very clear how much people loved N and M so I was positively surprised to see how popular A became since B2.

Ditto! M takes the cake in this book but A is my ride or die. I didn’t mind the ending and honestly feels in canon for A’s character. I got more than I was expecting from A in this book and I’m cherishing all the little moments until B4.

I’m still not sure how to feel about that, I understand it needs to happen for plot reasons but at the same time I feels like it’s too early in the series. I thought something like that was going to happen after B5.

Its Tumblr…where nice stuff go to die :smirk:

Tbf i used to be in the twc fandom on tumblr for a while after the second book just came out and A was by far the most popular RO there. At least among the people i followed/interacted with, so it depends on your circles probably. I did frequent the tags too though. Also, in my experience as an artist, A fanart always got more engagement.

N and M used to be about the same in terms of popularity, i think eventually M got ahead, and F is at the bottom as always.

In the end though… It’s not a popularity contest and there’s no correct route to enjoy WHC since it depends on your preference. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: And each route cater to whatever you prefer!

That seems like wasted effort. There’s no actual competition. M just… doesn’t care about Alima. Pick “lol, you poor deluded bastard” options instead.

Scenario 4: The mayor finds out, uses Douglas as a prop for his re-election campaign.

I mean, still no positive outcome, true.

These people aren’t competent enough to be one of the bad guys.

Yeah, N really does top the “baby the Detective” list this book, and I’m not thrilled. One of the many reasons why M is my fave is that they’re the ones who never do that, in any book.

On the one hand, I’m really sad about losing the Detective position and having less Tina and Verda in my life. On the other hand, I’m very hopeful that next time Bobby comes around I get the option to cut them off mid-sentence and go “I’m no longer professionally obligated to put up with you, kindly fuck off.” In fact, does anyone know if Sera takes suggestions? I REALLY want that to happen.

Two mysteries about Douglas: 1) where is his mom. And 2) Is he really the Mayor kid?

sure…lets make all 4 romances a copy of M.

  1. His (presumable) mum is around. She’s married to the mayor, and I think her entire job is to host parties and be a socialite. She’s mentioned a couple of times, and IIRC she’s actually with the mayor while he’s greeting people during the blood drive.
  2. I can’t recall any indication to the contrary.

Eww

and he was leering at rebecca…double ewww.

fucking cheater.

well, what if whatever they did…awakened Douglas half supernatural and that’s how he changed? and not due to ‘here, magic potion’ stuff?

Have you seen him with N when you run into him in B2? Man’s a sleazeball.

Maybe he is the big bad evil? Lol

Pretty sure the big bad is Knight.

The woman at the end of B3 leaves a knight piece on Rook’s grave, so that’s what I’m calling her.

who is that?

is it confirmed knight’s a woman? all i read was the figure who leaned on rook’s headstone and left a knight chess piece?

Yes, Falk says she’s a human woman with your eyes in B2, and Knight very statedly and specifically has the same eyes as you. I think the auctioneer also refers to them as “her”, but don’t quote me on that.

I wonder…if MC is on the Douglas route and takes Rebecca’s plan, how will he feature in the next installment? Since he’s not been turned into a supernatural and all, and is still affiliated with Wayhaven PD. I suspect he’s either going to be promoted to Detective after MC leaves (because Tina refused: she was the Captain’s first choice, no matter what the Mayor says) and become the Agency Liasion (if Tina is also in on the secret she shares this position) and/or he’s going to do some investigating of a supernatural-related crime in Book 4 (as an officer or a detective) and get turned into a supernatural or find out about the fanged secret and try to help MC and UB. The hero worship/puppy crush will either persist or MC can try to make it more normal, platonic respect.

Heh. On the one route where I ended up in that situation, I struggled with the save file for what felt like an hour, trying to figure out which combination of factors would prevent Douglas from getting needled, and when I couldn’t find one… I changed the file to put that MC on Bobby’s path. I hated that development.

I didn’t particularly like becoming an Agent because the station and Tina/Verda were a valuable connection to the non-supernatural world, one I thought my MCs needed. I think the game itself has made that point several times. Ah well, at this point it seems everyone’s either going to be revealed as a supernatural or become one

I’m definitely going to miss having those two around. :frowning:

This isn’t happening. Douglas isn’t on the force longe enough, he has neither the skills nor the respect of Tina and Verda, and Sung isn’t promoting Douglas in any case because he hates the Mayor’s guts. Either Tina sucks it up and deals, or Sung is cutting down on his golfing time to run the station himself and the Detective position is left vacant.

I still think that the we will still be able to interact with Tina and Verda even though the Detective is at the Agency now. Probably they will become somewhat of a human liaison since there’s a path for them knowing. But of course, I can’t explain what happen to the non-Tina and Verda route though.

Huh? Wasn’t it confirmed in Sera’s tumblr that the leader of the rogues (also the woman in this scene) was a supernatural?
