Yah that’s pretty much what I mean by min maxing or something.
Fanboy not fangirl, since I pretty sure I have parts girls don’t have. And geez why are you so harsh when it’s not that serious… I was just making some small talk. I didn’t say everybody who hates Nat is awful, sense everybody has there own a option that’s why it’s choice of games, not one choose and if you don’t like it than your wrong. I just was making conversation just cause I rep with team Nat , doesn’t mean you have to like her.
What was harsh about that? I just used the oppertunity to rant a little bit more about my most disliked character ever. If you don’t want to hear it don’t give me that oppertunity.
Gender expectations are for squares… (Also whatever parts you have doesn’t interest me in that question. Just say you’re a guy, everything else is a little bit tmi for me)
@Sammysam & @AwkwardNature
Can we please take this conversation back to the game?
We are all on this thread support of the project, and for criticism for the author about said project.Any other discussion can be settled elsewhere.
The discussion mainly was about a character that’s part of said game (you remember, Nat?), so I would say that it’s actually fiting for this thread everything else is limited to two posts, what by far is not derailing the thread in anyway. But noted, thanks.
yup, I remember I was referring to the other parts of the discussion that were actually derailing.
No I thought you were anger by the last thing you said in your last paragraph and I thought called me a fangirl on purpose because I’m definitely a boy lol
And yeah I understand some things you said but I thought @Seraphinite change it so you could be a bit harsher to her lol? I mostly go for the standoff-ish one like Ava which I like her too, but it’s something about Nat that I like.
I like nat because he seems more human than the other characters, They just seem easier to love out of the other characters. I am curious how mason and ava/Adam will turn out we haven’t seen a lot of either of them yet so no real grasp of no they are as a character has occurred yet.
Nah as far as I understand it fangirl is rather universal appliable no matter the gender. But if you don’t want me to use it in context to you, sure.
I gave it up trying discern anybody’s gender on the internet.
Meh, N just really annoys me in general it’s not just the way they are treated by the game it really is just…they are not my kind of person. I like A and F as they are much more people I can understand in the way they act, even M though I think they are a little bit brattish (the smoking in the non-smoking zone for example. I mean, really? That’s just rude, besides what if anybody in that room has asthma or something? I mean it can’t negatively influence the vamps but that is seriously damn rude.).
My dislike of N by the way in itself is not mainly a critique of the story or even the character but really just that: a dislike for a character because I just don’t like them, not because they are badly writen (I think none of the npcs is badly writen, quite the opposite actually). By now I still keep back with criticising until the next update. But should my criticism still hold true I also won’t hold back in delivering and explaining it. But until then I wait with my main criticism (by the way none of my my main criticism by now is directed at N or their position in the story).
You know all.those characters in stories that people just don’t click with? Yeah, for @Sammysam, nat’s one of them.
Don’t worry @AwkwardNature sammy’s not mad at you, thus far. She just needs to sleep.
Why do I even write long explainations of that stuff if you make it simple with:
Oh, yeah because I like ranting. (Though I rather would talk more about the potential romances with A and F too…)
Yeah, true even though Ava got me mix up because I like characters who don’t like my MC so easily.
@Sammysam Ooh yeah because where I’m from I thought you were calling me a girl, but it’s all good when you put it like that to a degree lol.
Lol I like A too, I like the challenge lol. F I want as bf so I can have them around annoying the others because it’s funny. But M your a strong one my friend, M pisses my MC off so bad, if M was a boy in my case my MC would been off on M for being so disrespectful, like you said about cigarette thing and M responses. But since he can’t hit M, he’ll take his anger out other ways lol.
Hide their lighter and cigarettes! Or booby-trap one of them so it literally blows up in their face! They will quit smoking for eternity. Come on MC can even act like they did it to help M quit, for their health.
Lol Have to say @Sammysam your the best , ooh how that plan would be the best:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
@AwkwardNature - If you choose Nat/Nate as your RO, then you won’t be able to pursue Ava/Adam. Though, those two do have the love triangle option, if that’s how you’d prefer to go
@Summerbones - Thank you so much for checking out the demo, and I’m so glad to hear you really enjoyed it! (It really gives me a boost of motivation to know people like it ).
As for the relationship gauge, I’m not sure. I do tend to like knowing what characters like my MC during these games, but I also don’t want it to turn into a numbers things- I really want people enjoy the story, rather than focus on building stats and numbers.
Though as @Pyyrhus said, I do hope to write the characters with variations in interactions, so as you can tell how they feel about you. This won’t be until later though, when the relationships have time to build.
Still wavering on adding them or not for the time being
What if you add that as an option? I’ve seen several games hide stats based on whether the players want to see them or not, and I believe it should be a similar story for relationship stats.
That’s a really good idea. I might try to implement that for the demo and see how people like it. If my coding skills are up to it
Edit- Yay! I managed to do it! Gonna fiddle around and make it look prettier, but now relationships will have the option of being visible or hidden.
i’m not sure if it was answered, but for the love triangle option,
what you’re saying is that there are A option, N option, and love triangle option.
not like you chose N option, but later you get to have love triangle option if you want.
so you have to choose love triangle option from the beginning when the game asks you to choose your RO
The romance route options are:
- Adam/Ava
- Nate/Nate
- Mason/Morgan
- Felix/Farah
- Love triangle between A and N
You’ll have the choice of those 5, and have to choose which one you want, then you’re on that path. I’m still hoping to be able to have ‘critical’ moments in books where you can possibly break up with your current RO and romance another, but that’s still up in the air at the moment and won’t happen until much later books anyway
The others would really be OK possibly developing feelings for Detective MC in that situation? Wouldn’t it get a little awkward for some of them to move from friendship to romance with someone who had been dating one of their own teammates not too long ago? Or will a good amount of time pass in that entry of the book before one of the vampires or Detective MC possibly branches the topic to each other (I imagine that each of them would have a different approach to bring the matter up to Detective MC, considering their personalities and how MC themselves tend to act).
How would the matter play out if you simply decided to be friends for the first book and get into a relationship in one of the later book, where the bond between MC and the group is likely more solid and trusting?
