or Sweetwell. Who knows~
ok, back to this question because I was ruminating it all throughout my lunch.
It really depends on a variety of factors:
Like, were they were hospitalized because of Charlotte’s incredibly pungent cooking? If so, she’d respond by fussing over them, but also by refusing to cook anything with spices for about a month.
I’m sure A and M wouldn’t give af, but F and N—since they willingly eat—would probably have to beg her to use even salt again (although I’m certain the salt had nothing to do with it).
F: [trying to shake salt into the pan] Salt doesn’t even have an odor!
Charlotte: [using her entire weight to pull F’s arm back] I. can’t. risk. it!
F: [one shake]
Charlotte: [breaks into hysterics]
N: If you’d like to avoid cumin for a while, I understand, but please, please don’t be afraid of salt.
Charlotte: But—!!
N: Charlotte, please, for the love of god, use seasoning.
Charlotte: [with vigorously shaky hands] [adds one crystal of salt]
N: …
Charlotte: …did you want more?
N: [tries not to cry]
N: [cries a lot—but in the bathroom because they don’t wanna hurt Charlotte’s feelings because good lord was that chicken breast flavorless]
If, however, we’re going the heartbreaking route and the RO was in the hospital because of a direct consequence of Charlotte’s actions…then we get into the angsty territory, and tbh, that depends on even more factors.
Like, was the RO trying to protect Charlotte from a bad guy? Then Charlotte wouldn’t feel so guilty–though she would try and make them food or knit them some sort of gift to show that she appreciates what they did, maybe spruces up their hospital room with candles and flowers and cards.
If, however, they were hospitalized because Charlotte fucked up in some way…it’d be all of the above, but she wouldn’t even try to let it show that it was affecting her that badly and would refuse to cry in front of them and generally, would pour all her time into making her RO feel better, so that they don’t regret wanting to be with her.
For a less heartbreaking alternative, say the RO was hospitalized because Charlotte hit 'em with her car because she didn’t check her rear before hitting reverse?
(shit, would they even need to go to the hospital? fuck it, let’s say she was in a rush and gunned it, lol)
If that’s the case, she would spend the rest of the RO’s time in convalescence probably literally waiting on them hand and foot because of how guilty she felt—though I imagine F would take advantage of the situation—she’d probably keep doing it for at least two weeks after they were released because, “I RAN YOU OVER. LET ME MAKE THIS UP TO YOU.”
“It’s fine, I’m fine–”
“IT IS NOT FINE MY GUILT IS UNBEARABLE.”
And then three weeks later she probably runs over them again.
And that’s how Charlotte deals with guilt, by doing everything in her power to make the other person feel good until they forget they felt bad in the first place and then sometimes she makes the exact same mistake again.
I…don’t see Emma dealing with it very well. She’s usually pretty composed and work focused, but I think Ava (or anyone else in UB, really) getting seriously hurt would really make her nervous. She’d spend as much time making sure they were okay as she could, and she’d try to act cool but you’d be able to tell she was a bit freaked. She wouldn’t be able to sit still. She’d be pacing around, chewing her fingernails, tapping her fingers on her desk and otherwise doing little annoying stressed out things. If they were REALLY hurt I can picture her getting buzzed to deal with it…which isn’t great. (Sorry Emmy baby I should have made you with better coping mechanisms.)
Awww, Nate. So innocently unaware of the moment he just totally murdered.
Hmm… If it were my most recent MC, Olivia (Liv) Hughes, she would not only be completely humiliated (if it were something minor), but she’d feel so bad that she’d have to do something nice for them - maybe get them something as an “apology gift.” If it were something serious, she’d beat herself up over it for a long time - probably until her ROs (yes, the love triangle) told her a million times that they were okay and that it “wasn’t a big deal because they healed.” Then she’d really pull out all the stops and do something really nice/special for them - and probably try to recruit some help from the other guys (that way she’d know what to do!). lol
On a separate note - new game, new MC! Victoria Beaumont; troubled past (police force or jail); tense relationship with Mom, but friendly to most others (Tina, Verda, etc.). Can’t wait to see how she handles everything from here on out…
“What are you up to?” Mason asks, strutting into the kitchen with his nose wrinkled in disgust. “It smells so sweet I think I might pass out.”
Hehe, I love when M says overdramatic things like this. Their surly distaste for all things human (food, etc) makes them seem somewhat… pompous, at times, and it’s strangely endearing.
Also, Nate definitely knew what he was doing when he interrupted them. Can’t wait to read Nat special tomorrow, all of these scenarios have been amazing!
ha. haha. hahahahha
let’s do this
Tanwen would be shattered. The poor girl already has a guilt complex when she accidentally bumps into someone! This? Someone’s gonna have to physically drag her away before she’ll leave their side. She’d cry a lot while they’re unconscious, but once they wake up she’d try her best to smile and be cheerful and not make them worry about her (cause for her this would probably be Nat, and you just know Nat would worry about the detective being sad/worried even when she’s the one in a hospital bed). She’d be very nervous about any of them (but especially Nat) going out into the field for a while.
Jay would throw himself into work. He’d visit the hospital once a day, after he leaves work, to tell Ava what they’ve found (she can’t hear him, but he knows how much she hates being out of the loop under any circumstances so this is the least he can do). The rest of the time he’d keep himself busy, swallowing down his guilt and worry and concern until whoever did this is caught and his town is safe once again. He’ll brush off anyone who tries to talk to him about his ~feelings~, coldly telling them that they have a case to work and better things to do with their time.
Keiji… well. Keiji will not visit the hospital at all, because that means really facing what happened and he’d rather not think about it at all. He’d be more snappish than usual, impulsive and reckless to an extreme extent as he throws himself into hunting down whatever did this. Not a lot of sleep, too much to drink, working out until he just about collapses, he’d run himself pretty fucking ragged. Feels extremely guilty but doesn’t want to acknowledge it.
If my MC, Lisette, ever causes any serious bodily harm to any of UB, she would go into shock and the little confidence she has would shatter into a million pieces. It would seriously affect her personality and twist it in a sense. While she would try to hang on and try to befriend as many people as possible to prevent being truly lonely (hence the silent pining for Bobby, even still), she would try to avoid everyone she loves as if she messes up, they or even the world would pay for it. It’d depend on the RO if they’d recover or not, or even be stregthened by this time of doubt and grief.
In the Children of the Gods thread, gia linked these uncommon character questions for us to do for our Bearers.
I was just about to send them to @Mewsly before I realized it would be more fun if we all joined in!!

Uncommon Questions for OCs
- What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?
Maybe an hour—unless daydreaming counts as something…then none, she can’t sit still, lol.
- How easy is it for your character to laugh?
Super easy. She’s almost always laughing…at her own jokes, granted, but she still had a great sense of humor! lol
- How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)
She listens to music (like I do!! :D)
- How easy is it to earn their trust?
Not to say that’s she’s super trusting but…she felt very betrayed by Unit Bravo after only knowing them for like a month or two, tops.
- How easy is it to earn their mistrust?
Not very, but when you do, it’s heartbreaking, because you can almost see a piece of her breaking.
- Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?
Flexible enough to agree to work for a supernatural agency!!! Eyyyyyyyy,
she’s a terrible cop!!
- What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?
Pictures, what few of them there are of her childhood, and her mother’s lullabies.
- What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child?
As a kid, Charlotte would take hours in the tub (playing with dolls, of course)…with the water still running.
Rebecca: Stop doing that, it’s a waste of water!
Charlotte: But I like the sound of the water.
Rebecca: Then shower first and play after.
Charlotte: ???
- Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?
She tries not to, after all, she’s supposed to be a role model for the kids!!
Her first swear was “shit” at twelve.
- What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?
When she would say, “I love you” to Rebecca as a teenager.
And yes, it does haunt her, especially after the reveal.
- How do they cope with confusion?
She’ll ask for help—there’s no shame in loljk, nah, she tries to figure it out on her own long before she ever considered asking for help.
However, I actually expect that to change as the series wears on (woo! go teamplayer stat!!)
- How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?
Beg for someone to scratch it for her.
- What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?
All of them!~♡
And yes, she does!
- What animal do they fear most?
Spiders.
- How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?
If it’s with friends, she doesn’t feel the need to think anything through before speaking.
If it’s with strangers (or her mum), then yes, she rehearses her lines, lol
- What makes their stomach turn?
Bad smells.
- Are they easily embarrassed?
!!!YES!!!
- What embarrasses them?
If she fucks up in front of a crush.
It’s great.
- What is their favorite number?
Seven!
- If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?
“Platonic love is…if they asked, you would do almost anything. Romantic love is…there’s nothing you won’t do for them, and you do it yourself without asking.”
- Why do they get up in the morning?
Because, before she goes to bed every night, she bribes her future-morning self by leaving a chocolate candy on her nightstand, so when she looks up, bleary-eyed at her alarm clock, the numbers are blocked by a delicious piece of candy, and of course she has to eat it!
But by the time it’s over, she’s still a little hungry, fully awake because of the sugar, and ready for anything that isn’t a sudden and inevitable worldwide chocolate shortage!!! (If/when that happens…Charlotte just might die of despair.)
- How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)?
Lots of frowning, a short-tempered attitude, and refusing to admit that she’s doing either, while also trying to shoo away whoever’s making her jealous.
- How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)?
If it’s something she can have eventually but doesn’t have the time to get it immediately—say, Douglas ate the last of Haley’s pastries that Tina got for everyone in the office—then she becomes fixated on it for the rest of the day.
If it’s something she can’t have, ever, say because it’s the type of relationship someone has or a trait they have that Charlotte wishes she did…she just kind of stares wistfully, tries imagine scenarios where she could have it…and then never follows through—there’s work to be done.
- Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom?
Charlotte: [blushing furiously] Me? Sex? I mean…I—I—
Doctor: It’s a yes or no question.
- What are their thoughts on marriage?
#RelationshipGoals (?)
- What is their preferred mode of transportation?
Walking.
- What causes them to feel dread?
Loneliness and silence.
- Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth?
Unpleasant truth.
She was much more comfortable with the truth of the supernatural coming to light, than with the years of lies and secrecy before it.
- Do they usually live up to their own ideals?
Heck yeah!
Charlotte: If you can’t live up to your own ideals, who are the kids going to look up to??
Felix: [off-hand] You keep mentioning kids, but I have never once seen a kid enter this police station who wasn’t already a delinquent. Do you visit elementary schools or something?
Charlotte: Um…we used to but…there was an incident with my pepper spray and the kindergartners and—
Felix: [leans in, suddenly very interested] Tell me more.
- Who do they most regret meeting?
Murphy, duh.
- Who are they the most glad to have met?
Charlotte: [blushes furiously] Oh you know…everyone! [looks over at Nate]
- Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke?
Nah, she just kind of…wanders into a conversation and hopes for the best
- Could they be considered lazy?
She used to be, but not anymore. Professional life does that to ya.
- How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt?
Incredibly hard. See my earlier answer to another question.
- How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?
She gets swept up and becomes excited too—tbh, if she didn’t mind the occasional vomit, she would’ve been a great preschool teacher.
- Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap?
Four hot vampires literally fell into her lap when she wasn’t looking, lol.
- Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)?
Except for PEMDAS, I have never in my life had to do something like that, but I feel like Charlotte would do something like that (just because that’s the type of person Charlotte is) but because I am not that kind of person, I have no idea what it could be.
- What memory do they revisit the most often?
Does the entire Star Wars nonology count as a memory? lol
- How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people?
Uh, surprisingly easy.
I mean, she likes Adam, eventually, lol.
- How sensitive are they to their own flaws?
She’s learned to better them or brush off the ones that are subjective over the years.
- How do they feel about children?
She loves 'em so much, omg, you have no idea!!!
She squeals. She literally squeals!
- How badly do they want to reach their end goal?
Very!
- If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?
Charlotte: [blushing furiously] Me? Sex? With people?? I mean…I—I—
Morgan: It’s a yes or no question.
Uncommon Questions for Creators
- Why are you excited about this character?
Because she’s a cutie patootie who’s fun to imagine.
- What inspired you to create them?
Me~~!
- Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?
Nope! She’s pretty easy to throw stuff at and make her stick!
- Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?
She used to be a natural redhead, but then I decided that red hair would just be something she chooses for her spring outfits—the way most people would choose scarves or hats—and eventually she became a natural brunette.
- Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?
Yeah, I feel like she and I would get alone pretty well…unless there was only one chocolate candy.
Then it’d be a fight to the death to see who could offer it over to the other person.
Charlotte: No, no, you take it!
Rose: No, you!
Charlotte: …You.
Rose: It’s rude of me as you guest, you take it.
Charlotte: But you are my guest, take it, please. I insist.
Rose: …
Charlotte: …
And then we both die of starvation.
- What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?
Excitement, lol. She makes me happy just to imagine!
- What trait of theirs bothers you the most?
Um…I don’t think she has anything I hate.
- What trait do you admire most?
Her determination!
I used to have that too, but I lost it somewhere along the way between my Freshmen year and Senior year of high school.
- Do you prefer to keep them in their canon universe?
Heck.
Nah.
I’ve been imagining her in so many aus.
So many.
- Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?
Um, I don’t think so.
Unless, if you mean headcanons, then…yes.
uhhh am i going blind or is 11th question missing?
Woops, I just numbered it badly, lol.
I’ll have to fix it later, though.
Edit: Fixed!
Well this was quite fun doing

My character "E"
What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?
Depends on the environment she’s in, I think. She doesn’t do well in bustling cities, but if it’s quiet enough I can see her sitting around and not doing much of anything. Provided that she doesn’t have anything to do on her “to do” list lol
Maybe 1-2h, if her schedule is free.
How easy is it for your character to laugh?
Eh, fairly easy. Although it depends on the joke. As long as it’s harmless (not offending anyone), she can crack up pretty easily.
How do they put themselves to bed at night
Breathing. Ehe, that sounds weird. Basically what I mean is a controlled kind of breathing where you make sure to exhale longer than you inhale.
How easy is it to earn their trust?
If you’re compassionate about something, as well as not disregarding rules too easily, she’ll trust you fairly quickly. If you’re not, however…
How easy is it to earn their mistrust?
Much easier. Although she’s not one to shove it in your face once she discovered she’s been lied to/nog given the full picture.
Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?
Pretty much immovable. She always makes sure to follow minor rules (but she’ll allow others to disregard them at times).
What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?
Certain environments or things that remind her or her childhood (related to her mother) are often nostalgic to her. Cakes are one of these things.
She doesn’t mind the feeling, but doesn’t get overly excited about it, just letting it linger.
What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child?
E was told to go outside more as she tended to be inside a bit too much (all the interesting electronics got her hooked). Regarding what she was told to stop doing, well… she was told not to inspect things sometimes. Things that should just be left alone.
Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?
Nope, she doesn’t remember. She swears in straining situations, but basically only then. I see her using “shit” when cussing, or “hell”.
What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?
Telling people that she had done/finished stuff without actually doing it. It’s one of the reasons why she’s so meticulous about following rules/doing her duties nowadays. Not because she used to get in much trouble over it, but because she hates to be/feel like a disappointment.
How do they cope with confusion?
She asks questions of possible, tries to piece things together, asks/looks for more answers… and continues to do so until she understands.
How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?
She finds something to scratch that itch, never someone lol.
What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?
Purple, and nope she doesn’t like it.
What animal do they fear most?
Well, she’s disgusted by leeches (not to say that she hates vampires), but that’s more of a parasite. She doesn’t really fear any animal.
How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?
E thinks quite a lot before speaking, so that she can get her message across as smoothly as possible.
What makes their stomach turn?
Leeches, as said earlier. Very gruesome murders do as well, or witnessing someone put their life on the line and getting hurt.
Are they easily embarrassed?
Sometimes, if she find herself unrepresentative. She isn’t easily embarrassed on someone else’s behalf, though.
What embarrasses them?
Sleeping in (not keeping up with her schedule), sounding off (like, unfocused or distracted), or blurting something out without thinking.
What is their favorite number?
3 and 7 (she has two ok, deal with it).
If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?
“Platonic love is something shared with friends: A relationship which hasn’t been around for as long as the ties to the family. Familial love is uninhibited, and stays strong through most people’s lives. Romantic love has the addition of intimacy- but that is basically the only thing that divides it from the rest.”
Why do they get up in the morning?
To help others, and make her feel like she’s fitting into this world as she ought to.
How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)?
She becomes more withdrawn, or snappish if approached. She also may or may not remark snidely more often.
How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)?
Since she views it unbecoming to just take stuff, she tends to resent the ones who has what she wants, may it be an actual item or a quality.
Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom?
Not something E would speak about in a public place, but in a more private setting she’s fine with it. Siblings (I see her having a sister and a brother) are fine to bring up the subject with, but less so with her mother and friends whom she hasn’t know for so long.
What are their thoughts on marriage?
She finds it just fine, but it isn’t something she would bring up.
What is their preferred mode of transportation?
By foot or by car/some other vehicle.
What causes them to feel dread?
Knowing she can’t do anything to stop a disaster/a scenario going wrong.
Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth?
No. She always speaks the truth.
Do they usually live up to their own ideals?
No, E always strives to become more hardworking than she is, and also more smooth (primarily socially).
Who do they most regret meeting?
Lol, she regrets Bobby a great deal. For all the trouble he’s caused her, she’d rather they didn’t know one another at all.
Who are they the most glad to have met?
Verda (her nerdy working pal), and team Bravo.
Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke?
E rarely tells jokes, and when she does, it usually a dry remark about how something went the complete opposite way she wanted it to.
Could they be considered lazy?
She frequently considers herself lazy, but others don’t.
How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt?
Quite difficult. If she’s too involved in something emotionally, she has a hard time looking at it objectively. Instead, she just does all she can to make it “right”.
How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?
Yes, but never overly so. E likes to double check with her friends before “signing up” on anything, which means going through their throughs/ideas throughly.
Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap?
She doesn’t seek it, but that’s because she’s already so invested in her work. Be if for better or worse!
Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)?
If its a name it sticks with her. Numbers/codes/schedules etc is what she keeps track of in her calendar.
What memory do they revisit the most often?
Her time during childhood, or day to day things that she could have done more effectively.
How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people?
Very difficult, would it disturb her own workflow. Otherwise, she’s mediocre about it.
How sensitive are they to their own flaws?
To the extent that she’ll likely snap is someone brings it up and she’s unprepared.
How do they feel about children?
Fine. Children (especially small ones) are more of a chore than a privilege to her.
How badly do they want to reach their end goal?
Pretty badly. The need to feel accomplished is one of the things that drives her.
If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?
“It shifts, it’s not constant- and I don’t expect it to be.”
N being a lil shit professional cockblocker is now canon. I thought I would have to watch out for F in my playthroughs not to interrupt my wonderful M time but it seems I was wrong. It’s always the innocent looking ones.
That being said, I can’t wait for Suavewell’s turn. Nat is sure to melt our hearts.
Ohh I have reading material for tonight I shall read all about you lovely people’s Detectives.
I also may or may not steal some ideas to use on my own MCs lol.

Part 2
- Why are you excited about this character?
- Because it’s sort of portrayed by me~
- What inspired you to create them?
- Myself~
- Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?
- Yes! Real life me is sarcastic asf but also too friendly so I had to make sacrifices to modify my oc ;;
- Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?

- We’d be the perfect soul mates even with minor personality differences.

- They’re pretty chill and easygoing which is ++. Sometimes they get on my nerves with some choices but still proud of them~
- What trait of theirs bothers you the most?
- They’re too forgiving and passive. TSK TSK
- What trait do you admire most?
- They’re strong willed! If it were real life me I’d hide in a corner and let ub take care of all the fighting (lbr I’m just a mere human who can rip from a single punch, i ain’t ever going to survive in a supernatural word lmaoo) .
- Do you prefer to keep them in their canon universe?
- Yes, but since it has to do with all types of supernaturals then I’d imagine in a show like supernatural or charmed.
- Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?
- I had to tweak some canon for positive ub dialogue. If not then I’d probably disappoint them ToT
I might do this sometime for all of my detectives. XD Perhaps this way I could have a clearer of them for future playthroughs.
Edit: I think I need to be in a PC for this one. It’s so hard to copy that many questions. >_<
About Alex
1. What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?
A: They laugh when they’re nervous, so… Not that hard? In a humorous way, not that easy though. Their sense of humor is pretty selective.

5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust?
A: Easy. Once again, especially after Bobby.

A: Dark blue, black and white. I presume so lol

A: Their tiny car and trains.
27. What causes them to feel dread?
A: Not being able to find enough clues or incriminating the wrong person.

42. How badly do they want to reach their end goal?
A: They’re pretty anxious, so, badly.
43. If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?
A: “For me, genders are like potatoes, they’re good in any way and in any variety”.
Just out of curiosity, when I was a kid I did want to be a detective so most of the childhood related answers are actually taken from my own life.
And here’s Nat’s !!!
