Wouldn’t the soldiers the MC recruits for their army also fill the role of guards as well when we’re not on campaign?
Also, I doubt that would solve anything since the guards would be more than likely to be on your payroll as well.
I’ll admit the opportunity for cucking out other people is both funny and refreshing, but then again that sort of thing would make sense in the time period of this. There’s a reason bastards are looked down upon heavily in those days.
I think the ideal would be a mixture of Spartans and Swiss Guards, where they are caught small, learn to worship you as a god (cult image) and are trained to adulthood and teachings that do not honor it greater than fighting and dying by their leader.
@RagEgnite And what a great job they do. They would probably be efficient if they would be your shadow, they would taste your food and escort you everywhere, (except for the bedchambers and a few other places in the castle).
I think the easiest answer is just to properly vet and pay people that work in close proximity to the MC. The fact that no one bothered to check Nada’s story about being Tina’s relative is an appalling lack of security. Nada could have killed the MC when the MC was sick and in Nada’s care so the MC was really lucky.
The Praetorian Guard was ultimately disbanded in part because of its assassinating Emperors.
The MC can never make himself the god of his religion, he can at most proclaim himself a Messiah.
About the servant:
Nada is a spy planted by someone of great influence and power, my personal theory is that Galver Laeshwyr or the E.B.B. are responsible for her, she acts as a spy and potential lover to a female MC, and to a male MC she is tasked with having his child at all costs and if that fails act as a spy(also assassinate the MC if needed). MahatmaDagon said that he’d like for us the players to choose in the next game whether we play as legitimate heir or a bastard, I believe it would be interesting playing as Nada’s or Hereya’s child.
