The Soul Stone War General Discussion Thread (Romance And Stones Guide on #6)

@hungryciti That’s what bothers me too. So let’s wait and see in the next book!

Making Mornie an RO would be problematic considering Manerkol kills her on his route.

There’s no problem on that, if you are locked on Manny’s route, it doesn’t matter if Mornie is a RO because you already have your ro, so is not like you could pick her anyway!

Yes, but if Mornie is dead in a large portion of saves it’ll be hard to incorporate her into the plot in any significant way.

That is true, but I wouldn’t underestimate the authors craziness

I just want to say congrats Morgan for writing such a good game. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and the story and how you tell it is done very well. However what I dont like with this game is the possibility of you romancing all the major characters in the story. I think that is a bit too much or unrealistic, considering that they want to rip you apart but you still have the chance to be turned on by them.

The banter between the party members is good, I was bothered how Strassa shows his kindness by just smiling or placing his arm around your shoulder. People irl do different gestures of friendliness.

Still it is a great read, and I can’t wait for the next book! Again congratulations.

Clearly, the secret secret RO for the next game is the lady mule.

We know it’s supposed to be a mindfuck romance option, what could be a greater mindfuck than our dear lady mule suddenly revealing herself to be a transmuted yandere dragon??? Remember, she’s always been watching you.

@ArtemisFowl Haha, I’m glad you liked them! But as for the secret one, Mornie I accept, but MANERKOL IS A SWEETHEART! …:rofl::rofl: And yes, absolutely the Dorlas storyline will continue until it’s resolved! Bain is already dead, however… :smirk:

@Bennet Morkai IS actually very sweet once he starts to get closer to the MC! Or at least I think so LMAO! Anyway, you’re very welcome, and I will do my best to make the wait worth it!

@hungryciti Haha, their route does get heart-pounding at points, doesn’t it? :smirk: And a vacation sounds good… As for your question, how the bond comes into place will be explored in the next game! And also why Manerkol accpeted it as quickly as he did Also, @Alicia_kun That’s an interesting theory :eyes:

Also, I will NOT comment on the Mornie as an RO comments    Why is everyone so hung up on her hdgvgdsfgdfgdfjlb :scream: :fearful: And i resent the implication that I’m crazy @Fujcog :grimacing::rofl:

Quick question: if Manerkol hates the Gods so much, why bother making the paladins? I mean, why not just let them sacrifice themselves for their children? It seems like it’d be better to encourage them than discourage them.

Unless he needs the Dragon Gods for the Soul Stones or something like that…

Everyone’s so busy freaking out over Manerkol that no one’s talking about the fact that we finally know why Eledwen calls MC “my one” in the Tumblr asks:heart_eyes::sob: the precious angel…

Finally finished a playthrough! Wow, that was an evil place to hang from the cliff…

To be honest, when we fought Elkoth I half expected him to start creeping on the MC, considering how many creepers we’ve ran into at that point. And then it turns out that he was just a regular asshole! It broke my drinking game! That was a surprise!

I ADORE DAEDAE asdjhkajhdkashdajksdhjkadhadashfkja. Also, while I was always Team Straasa as far as the boys go, I ended up liking him a lot more than I expected so yep, boarding the Next Playthrough train. (I want to be Elly’s best friend, though! Well, second best after DaeDae.)

Going to try to see if the mindscrew from your Soul Stone is different if it’s another one, since the one I got (Garnet) felt like a really good mindfuck summary of the MC’s thoughts and choices and opinions of themselves so far. I really like how the MC’s personality develops through the story ngl.

@snowgoose Tbf, he does creep on MC a bit if you choose the “bold outift” dialogue option…

@Chaseley-Writes Wow, I should not have underestimated the MC’s powers, huh…

Considering that even their Soul Stone creeps on them a bit it’s probably something intrinsic to their existence by now. So we have the MC’s superpowers : dreamwalking (removable), sixth sense (removable), creep attractant (permanent, non-removable buff).

I’m actually rather fine with this lol.

@snowgoose I think that will be the true test of whether or not MC is still themselves in the next book…like yes, they (potentially) gave up their dreamwalking and intuition, and yes, they ultimately gave another piece of their soul to/for the stone, but do they still attract creeps?

Haha I mean same

So I just finished playing another playthrough (I’ve done sm now it’s ridiculous haha) and finally decided to come here and say wow thank you author for such a great game! :slightly_smiling_face::heartpulse: I did the poly route with the boys, morkai solo route and straasa soo route romance wise so far.

Idk how to hide spoilers or make them blurry like everyone else’s so Ill just hint at my fave parts:

Poly route with straasa and morkai- overall how protective both of them are over ur mc, its so cute! :heartpulse: All three together are adorableness that I look forward to seeing more of in book 2

Morkai route- how he still remains a grump lol but your mc sees his softer side and the tender moments are just perfect :ok_hand: also his quips with bold mc are :fire:

Straasa route- he is so caring and just safe and how he always protects mc, esp. if your mc is shy. The scene with the gift giving-I won’t say what it is- is so sweet :blue_heart:

Sorry I rambled on but Im not good at forums lol I only come on to give thanks to all the amazing novels I see on here :slightly_smiling_face: again, thank you morgan I loved it loads and can’t wait to see more in the future! :heartpulse::heartpulse::heartpulse:

I just finished book one for the second time, and by the gods I can’t wait for the next one. Your writing is incredibly compelling, and had me hooked from the beginning of the first reading. The cliffhanger is only making me even more excited, and in need of the sequel though :joy:

Just wanted to clarify my earlier post. Loved the book the ending just was a punch to the gut.

I’ve played through twice so far, and really enjoyed it. There’s a good balance between the dark, dramatic events, and moments of warmth and humour (the writing style is great at capturing the incredulity of a character who’s in way over their head, dealing with Just One More Damn Thing). Now I have a female MC who is tenderly romancing a magnificent dragon lady, and a male MC who is consumed by idiotic thirst for an evil vampire king.

I love it when overdone fantasy tropes get mixed up in interesting new ways, and can’t think of a better case than 'young hero joins a bunch of ragtag adventurers to discover his True Power and defeat the Dark Lord…but actually, wait, turns out the Dark Lord is smoking hot, sorry guys, this just got way more complicated’. Can’t wait to see how that will play out in the later books. Will his companions think he’s brainwashed, and try to snap him out of it? Will he act as double agent, letting Manerkol know where they’re headed so it becomes a race to see who can grab the Soul Stones first? Will he try and play mediator, and see if there’s some possible way that everybody can end the story reasonably content and not dead/enslaved/a broken traumatised shell of a person? (hahaha not likely I’m guessing) Can they go visit MC’s hometown at some point, and burn it to the ground? That’s a fun date idea when one of you is a force of ageless evil, right?

I also appreciated the option to spend time with the companions just as friends, without the game automatically assuming it was romantic. Especially lovely was the scene where my Manerkol-romancing guy spent his festival time with Eledwen, danced with her, and it was simply allowed to be a moment of platonic kindness. Then when my female MC who’d flirted with her did the same thing, there were extra additions to make it a romantic scene.

Lastly, I would like to state for the record that I am not amongst those who would like to pursue Mornie. I cheered when my faithful mule tried to kick her, I cheered harder when a furious half-dragon dropped out of the sky on her, I cheered hardest of all when Manerkol ripped her throat out because she was mean to his new bf.

Whhaaaaattt???

But I’m shipping Mornie and the MC super hard right now, even moreso than any of the ROs…

Besides, the story will be different if the MC is with Manerkol or not, so in the latter case I would say ‘rescuing’ Mornie and convincing her to join you wouldn’t be so hard, especially since she has an unquenchable thirst for the MC
