The Soul Stone War General Discussion Thread (Romance And Stones Guide on #6)

Excuse me, I have a question for you. In this first part of the story, only the relationship with Daelynn is fully explored till the final step (sex). I think it’s because the other relationships requires more time to fully develop. Can I hope that there will be an explicit scene even with Morkai and the evil king in the next part of the story?

…A ratio like that is essentially saying there is a choice almost every other page. Statistically, for every two pages, there is one page that has a choice. That’s extremely good considering that this is the first book in a series and none of the choices felt shallow. Not to bust anyone’s chops, but I prefer TSSW as it is. We don’t need to litter the code with fake_choice variables talking about things that in the end don’t change the direction of the plot or our character’s stats. In those in-text reactions, the writing of the MC and their tone of voice was very open to interpretation imo.

I’m not going to address the comparison to TWC because it’s not relevant. This isn’t Wayhaven. Morgan isn’t Sera. There is no standard for how stories should be written on CoG.

I think it’s a stretch to say that nothing is achieved. Trust me, many authors who write trilogies/series struggle with the idea of having some sort of conflict/resolution in each part leading to the greater conflict/resolution of the series as a whole. I’ve read plenty of those stories in my years with IF and I know that it is a great feeling of disappointment when a part comes off as incomplete. However, having read those stories so often, I can confidently say that TSSW doesn’t fall into that category.

The theme of the first book revolves around the MC establishing themselves. It starts with the MC on the run, aimless, desperate to escape their past while also having to leave behind everything they’ve ever known. They have no place in the world, no real purpose. They get whisked away on this crazy journey with these whimsical characters. They build relationships and skills and learn what they’re good at. At this point in the story, it feels like the MC is passively going along with everything because they are. They don’t have a sense of self or direction right now. They’re worn and tired out from being on the run and are just going wherever things take them.

When the MC finds out they’re going to be a soul stone wielder, it’s a huge turning point in the plot. Up until now they’ve been passively going on this journey, and now they’re being told that they have this divine power bestowed upon them and everything up until now has been fate. Around this time the MC could also enter a relationship. They now have a purpose. They have a place. They’re no longer running from the past and are instead focused on the future; Manerkol, the stones, their relationship. We start to see the MC making choices about their identity from here on out. They decide if they want to embrace or abandon their intuition, if it is worth sacrificing themselves for the Dragon artifacts.

When faced with the Soul Stone, they have just started to regain a sense of who they are. Of course they revolt against the notion of losing that, of going back into the limbo that was the weeks they were in the wilderness prior to the start of the book. In the end, they succumb to the stone, and become the person they were meant to be: a wielder. The conflict has reached a resolution. The MC has been established. What they do now that they’ve found themselves is best left for book 2.

 people do need to stop comparing TSSW with TWC it’s getting kinda old already  :unamused: this is TSSW, so let’s talk about TSSW, ok I already talked my piece and I’ll never mentioned it again.

Questions : will the MC gets more training over their gift? Or other abilities?

Considering how strong was Mr Fang, I say we better…or it be Game Over real fast.

Just having power is not enough, thankfully the connexion the mc has with their companions will help alot. + their Intuitive powers…and man…Mr fang gonna get pawned in the end!

Morgan has said the MC won’t be weak forever. Maybe this will help:

Nice find!

I’m with Anonymous. I don’t mind being a troll-uh…I mean weak! hiding behind someone skirt, and making funny face and shit like that

I play plenty of games where I’m a Goddess kicking butt with a pinkie! it’s refreshing, and so hilarious…

Beside when we finally get to pawn, just imagine Morkai face and all his endless comments ‘‘The girl can’t even sneeze without breaking a bone’’! LOL

Oh I can’t wait for the look on his face…it be so worth it!

Knowing Morkai he’ll probably still call the MC useless even as they kick literal a**

Lol yeah, well…I shall smite his butt if he does! He won’t be able to sit anytime soon when I’m done with him :joy:

My MC didn’t hide behind anyone. She ran in like a psycho and didn’t worry about it (killing the troll made her damned day, too, lol).

^^^Yep, without a doubt. That’s fine, my MC will sass him about it. And call him old.

Sweet.

So we can’t have kids with Eledwen? And if we were to have kids with Daelynn, our kids would then be sterile? Same with Manerkol?

My MC is short, too! She gets a nice view of M&S’s butts. Or crotches. Either way, she wins. :smiling_imp:

I usually love being tall, AMAZON babeh! But somehow in this story, it’s feel fine. (Cose short in real life, so got a complex lol). But yeah, but then I play the max Tall mc and Daelynn carry you and I’m like…damnn…she is strong! Lol she must have ABS!

You add the image of a short stinky lunatic mc in the midst of these 4 peoples, who all look like they came out from a fancy D&D book…and dunno, but it make me laugh my butt off

Same here! My 5’1" MC amongst all these tall people cracks me up, especially with her running into battle like some sort of escaped mental patient! I picture Morkai’s expression and giggle. But poor Straasa!

The MC is kind of like me irl minus the sarcastic (I was taught to be polite to other people when I was little ) have no confidence, sometimes I doubt myself and don’t let me start on self blaming

Straasa will either get gray hair by end game, or be on Xanax Medication

You may wanna pick up the ‘‘I collect herb, I know weed man…’’ as a skill . Me think he gonna need lotta of that from you…lol

@OddCatGuy self blaming translate in games like these, as ‘‘Flirt: Can I hug your bossom? I feel down…Sniffle’’

Nothing wrong with that, nope. Total legit stuff to do…yup lol

Yeah, I got curious about what would happen if the MC asked Straasa to give her a boost against the troll–I was afraid he might refuse! But I did a run specifically to try that and he did help, but seemed even more upset than when Morkai did it! It was kinda funny… shouldn’t enjoy tormenting that poor guy

You should! You should! That’s why we go adventuring with punchin-Uh…I mean Adorable companions, steady friends that watch your back as you drag them into HELL they didn’t ask for! Nod wisely beside…may get all that aggro out and you leave mah ava alone (HEY I CAN STILL WISH lol)

You’re right. I get the feeling I’ll enjoy tormenting the hell out of Straasa by running into danger (and, most likely, turning Morkai on in the process)! While Zhar’s bff, DaeDae, helps her torment them all. Whee!!

And don’t worry about Ava… she’s all yours. And I’ll keep Mason out of your hair. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Straassa seem like the wise one, the one with a cool head on his shoulder. Empathic when needed, soft and gentle yet he can hold his own. That just beg for a troll to drive him bonker
