My idiot brain is having trouble parsing words, tonight. For clarity, when the demo goes up, will it only be to chapter 3, and then 4/5/6 will be added on in one big chunk later, or will it be all the way to 5/6 right off the bat, and stay there until the story is fully published?
No worries! 1-3 this weekend then a chapter each update until 5 or 6 (unsure yet where the demo actually ends).
4 is already more than halfway done (it’s a rewritten version of Chapter 3 of the first demo) but I wanted to put it in queue instead of adding it to this update so if 5 takes too long to write, there’s something I can post in the meantime.

Demo isn’t available yet! I had the text files wiped from the Dashingdon link just a few days ago to make way for the second draft of the demo which is coming this weekend! (I thought I put that warning in the main post but apparently not. Sorry!)

DEMO UPDATE | OCT 23 2021
Currently containing the first three chapters with 106k words with code and 94k without, and an average of 45k words per playthrough: the second draft of the demo of The Rosy Ones: Resurrections is here! The demo will not end here and I already have some of Chapter 4 (which was chapter 3 in the past demo) and Chapter 5 written. I’m anticipating it to be until at least Chapter 5, at most Chapter 6.
Chapters 2-3 will be familiar to those of you who played the original demo but so much has also changed in terms of plot, of choices, and some scenes that it hopefully still feels refreshing.
Some important changes:
- First chapter/prologue completely rewritten.
- Akira and River changed to flippable genders.
- Too many plot related changes that I really would not want to be spoiled.
- Better stats page with dossier like quality to it. Always being improved and not on its final state at the moment.
Thank you to the beta readers who helped me through this! I think I would’ve gone mad if I had to do it all myself. That being said, there might be errors we might not have caught or something else that confused you. You can send feedback through the form in the demo (I’ll probably add that new form to the main post) or reply to this forum with it.
I don’t think I’ll be able to spend much time on the forum but you guys can almost always reach me through tumblr!
I am still familiarizing myself with coding and my plot, always familiarizing myself with the coding and my plot, so some things might not flow as easily as I pictured them in my head. Or things may be confusing. Please understand that this is a work in progress and I would appreciate it if the feedback are polite.

It says that the gender switchable characters are ones that you can only have a fling with which is now not completely now that Akira and River are flippable unless I miss something

Ah I haven’t checked that part in a while so it might be a bit confusing now. Will have to possibly edit that later! But also, there are gender flippable characters who are there only for flings and I think that might be what I was trying to say? That not all flippable characters are official ROs lol

Yeah, I know. I’m in the process of fixing the forum post since a few things have changed since the first draft of the demo/book. Also, I am prioritizing fixing the info on my Tumblr page so if you’re curious about the ROs, I already posted there!
EDIT: Copy and pasted my descriptions from Tumblr so there are RO descriptions here. In general, the forum is pretty low on my priority compared to writing and managing the tumblr account (I find it much easier to interact with readers on Tumblr) so if you guys want more up to date information you can go to my Tumblr account!

@bumfuzzle not sure if it’s been pointed out yet but I’ve ran into this weird looping back to when we are first entering the dormitory suite… at work and very tired so hard to recall the exact spots… but it happened at least twice so far and makes half to replay all the way back through from that spot in the game.

That’s a bit tough to look for since no one else have reported that (yet). I will try to look for it later but are you saying it goes back to the first part of Chapter 3 where you enter the suite? Because I don’t think there’s any label there for other scenes to loop back to. There was an issue though where when the demo ends it loops back to the breakfast scenes but that’s been fixed (I think?) I will try to look for it later. Sorry for the inconvenience!
(Also I’ve just realized and am a bit confused but when I click reply to something on this forum they don’t actually show up as replies? It’s been a bit too long since I was last active on here so idk lol)
