And also, I have 3 character portraits to share!

Hiya guyss!!

It’s update time! I know I said that it would be the end of this week, but I didn’t want to sit on a ready update until the end of the week in order to stick to a deadline, so here we go!

Part two of act 1 is now available!

Features:
Use your rewind power for the first time.

Climb onto the roof of the Shinkansen.

Learn about Japanese train regulations.

The first (To my knowledge) Lockpicking minigame in a cs game.

Finally get your revenge on Kaito Busujima.

Hope you all enjoy the update! In particular, if anyonce encounters any issues where your character knows something they shouldn’t or vice versa, and any issues with the rewind mechanics, please inform me asahp. Any other feedback, is still welcome.

A final warning to potential code divers.

Good luck, it’s a mess in there.

I don’t think I commented here before, but I read your IF before the update. I really like it–finally some more games set in Japan.

The update was great and the rewind ability is a fun and refreshing idea! I assume that’s the reason why there’s no save in the WIP? Because if your MC dies you rewind time?

There was an issue of a passage with the Yakuza in the engine cart (iirc) that plays both my MC holding a gun to his face and then immediately proceeds the same passage with the katana (my MC’s chosen weapon and proficiency–though she picked up a gun from the dead yakuza dude). But I forgot to take a screenshot I’m sorry :<
If you can’t find what I mean I can replay and make screenshots of anything that I come across.

These are my stats at the end btw

Huge disclaimer though, I restarted after rewinding time over and over (on purpose) because I suddenly couldn’t save the boys in the 5th cart anymore and I couldn’t stand that LOL

I’m honestly looking forward to the next update! I didn’t actively follow this thread so I might’ve missed it but do you have a Tumblr or other social media? (Since you drew one of the pictures in the intro post, I’d be interested to see more of your art if you are comfortable with that).

On a different note: do you have some descriptions what the characters look like? I might want to doodle some, even if just for myself so I can imagine them better lol

Anyways: good job, looking forward to more, but please don’t forget to rest!

Once again I enjoyed it and yet again I can’t wait for more

Than you for your kind words .

The two issues you’ve pointed out have settled a bet with myself about what would likely cause the most problems. I’ll start with the gun.

So each weapon is tracked by a variable, and if you chose anything but the gun, you get an an option to pick up a gun as soon as you wake up in carraige seven. This will set two variables true, that being your original weapon of choice, and the gun. On the other hand, if you already had a gun, and decide to pick up another one, you unlock special scenes involving you having two guns. I realise now, that I should’ve just created a new variable for the second gun, but my list was already at…

quickly checks the files

About a hundred temp variables for act one part two?

Secondly, saving the group of teenage boys in carraige five. I expected this to cause issues, because it was the first carriage I coded, and the code is a million times more messy than the rest of the train. To the point that one of the labels is literally named:
*label fuck_idk_atthispoint
The scene is meant to play out like this:
Upon first entry of the carriage during that specific time loop, you are presented with the choice to warn them about the Yakuza or walk away. Upon returning, they will either be dead, or hiding under the table. Then, chuck in a variable that checks whether you know Yuuta’s name, and alters the scene slighty depending on if you do, and another one that checks if you know they’re gonna die, and you can imagine it might get a bit hectic.

I plan to fix both of these issues as soon as i can, but A) i am running on zero hours sleep, B) it’s 1Am, C) i have work tommorow, (today?) At 7AM. So i will hop on that as soon as i get back.

And to answer your other questions, this is probably the only social media, if you can call it that, that I regularly participate on. If there’s enough demand for it, I’ll consider making a tumblr page tho. As a slight side note, I will post more art of the characters as I complete them, but the code takes priority. The progress is slow as I work around the code. Currently working on a picture of mommy Akari. Definitely not distracted by having to draw her huge thighs. :flushed:

And I do have some concrete descriptions for the characters, but it would take a while to type up, so I’ll do that tommorow aswell. Forgive me. But the general gist is, all of them bar Kit, Midori, and Akari have black hair, cause, ya know, Japan. Thank you again!

And to @Mr_Canadian, thank you for the kind words aswell!

As a final bonus, for you fellow people of culture, IRL Koka-chan!

Please, there’s no rush! Go to sleep, any errors can wait!! Rest well, please🥺

Looking forward to seeing more of your art, though I understand that coding takes priority :3

Again, no rush! Tomorrow, day after tomorrow. Whenever you have time!!

Oh no, so cute🥺

On break atm, so here is the descriptions of characters appearances.

Makoto:

Appearance for Makoto is rather simmilar regardless of gender. Shoulder-length, black, dishevelled hair, blue eyes, freckles, smol. They are the shortest in the group, at 4’2. Wears an oversized, dark green hoodie, and almost never takes the hood down. If you desire, the hood may have cat ears sewed on aswell.

Kit:

For the female verison, refer to my pfp. For the male version, the same, but short hair. Red eyes, red hair, fox ears, tail, etc. Always wears a traditonal Japanese Kimono.

Ryoji/Ryuko:

Plain grey suit, black tie, Tattoo on their left arm with the Kanji for “cheetah”. Black, neat hair, shoulder length if female, clean shaven if male. Also has stubble if male. Grey eyes.

Masa:

Black, messy hair. Blue eyes. Black, baseball cap with his favorite, (fictional) baseball team, the Osaka Orangutans. Wears a white, button up shirt with short sleeves, and a tie. Also wears jeans. Is rather muscular.

Midori:

Green eyes. Long, black hair with green highlights. Almost never without a smile on her face. Wears a long, black dress with green four-leaf clovers all over it.

Kaito:

Without the beard.

Toshiko:

Kaito’s twin. Long black, hair, kept in a ponytail. Red brown eyes. Wears a similar suit to Kaito, but it is not as well kept.

Mommy Akari:

A long, lewd black dress, which exposes her bare, thick thighs. Has the word for “angel” tatooed in red onto the upper thigh on her right leg. The dress also exposes the sideboob, and she enjoys flaunting her body to anyone around. Wears an excessive amount of gold jewellery. Green eyes, with red, thick eyeliner. Wears red lipstick. Long blonde hair that reaches down to the floor. No, I’m not horny for my villain.

Tsukasa:

Looks like an older version of Kaito. Just add wrinkles, and a never-changing serious expression.

Kokona:

Long, black hair. Blue eyes. Shy expression. Never seen without her pair of wireless, red headphones. Wears the summer uniform of Jigoujitoku High.

Hope this is sufficent.

Thanks for the descriptions!

Tbh I did expect Makoto to be small, but not 127cm small :joy:

Anyways, thanks again, definitely helps with getting an image in my head

So, today was a wild ride.

Woke up at 5:30 AM on two hours sleep, and headed to work for 7AM. During my break at 12:30, I wrote up descriptions for the characters appearances, and a small feeling grew even bigger within me. Upon returning home at 3:30 PM, I sat down and opened CSIDE to fix the identifed issues with part 2 of act one. I stared at the open file for ten minutes, not typing a single word, before a thought crossed my mind.

“It’s time I stop living in denial. I’m horny AF for Akari.”

So I switched over to my drawing software, and 6-horny infused hours later, this was the result.

Viola! My art of Mommy Akari Hanabusa.

:flushed:

So, rather than this being a simple appreciaton post for Akari’s thighs, I will provide a brief teaser of the next update’s content. Going forward, I’ll also add this to each update’s announcement post.

In part 3 of act one, You will follow Kage’s riddles and track down their place of residence, and finally meeting them face to face. Along the way, you come to a stop at a Shinto Shrine, where you meet a certain, energetic Kitsune.

Have a great day!

You will let me romance Akari, or so help me

As much as i also wish to romance Akari, I’m afraid it would be impossible. She is, in fact, the next target after Kaito. Trust me, this will be as painful for me to write as it will be for you to read.

How could you do this to us? This isn’t fair. How could you tease us with this artwork and not make them a RO? (I will be weeping in the corner.)

Seriously though nice art. Really amplifies my thirst. Lmao

I’mma join you. :sob:

But the main premise of the story, is that the mc has such a thirst for revenge that they came back to life to finish the job. One of the lieutenants happening to have huge mommy milkers isn’t going to change that.

So as much as I hate writing this sentence, Akari will not be an RO.

Although… how would a one-night stand sound?

More specifically, a death by snu-snu? I just realised that it would work and not break anything at all. It would fit the arc I have planned for her perfectly. Too perfectly it’s suspicious how well it would fit, but I’m not complaining. It wouldn’t be a full fleged romance, but we’ll take what we can get.

In a 100% honest response. I like this compromise and not just cuz I’m thirsty. It would definitely be a way to give her some personal attention outside of horny stuff, while also doing what you set out to do. But I’m a weird lady.

Alternatively > Alternate Universe “What if?” side stories :smirk:.

Have her switch sides

Deploy the distracting lore dump!

This is becoming “I want to romance Akari: the thread.” So let’s move on.

I’m hoping that if i lay out my plans for the overall plot here, that you’ll see why romancing Akari is impossible.

This will obviously contain spoilers. So only open if you want to know. And please spoiler tag any replies, or I’ll be very unhappy.

Rough plot outline.

Act one: Backstory selection and the mission to kill Kaito. Introduces Makoto and Kit.

Act two: Introduces Masa. This is followed by a mission to find an imformant taking part in a deal below a live concert. The informant turns out to be Ryoji/Ryuko. The comnotion below the stage attracts the attention of Midori, and she runs away from her producers to follow you.

Act three: The casino job. Ryoji/Ryuko informs you of the Busujima’s private, high-end casino, which is also Akari’s base of operations, that they only allow entry to people who have a special card. Upon acquiring said card, you infiltrate the casino and manage to take down Akari.

Act four: With the success of the casino job still lingering, the group enjoys some downtime. You, on the other hand, try to convince them that you need to act, Izanami-No-Mikoto’s warning of a deadline still fresh in your memory.

Act five: Having managed to convince everyone, you assualt the Busujima’s main vault, running away with millions of Yen. This draws the attention of Tsukasa, and a high-speed car chase through downtown Osaka ensues. The chase ends with Tsukasa either being arrested or killed, depending on choices. (As for why this choice wasn’t available for Kaito and Akari, all i have is three words. MC character development.)

Quick prelude before we jump into Act Six. By this point, the MC is going borderline insane from repeated violent deaths and is starting to not notice pain. On the other side of the battle, Toshiko is also going insane from trying to convince the rest of the family to stop ignoring the threat of “the Onryō.” Shakunetsu’s health is also getting worse, and by this point, he is practically bedridden, so Toshiko is essentially running the family by herself. The pressure on her is building, and she is a stone’s toss from a breakdown. I’ll talk more about Toshiko later.

Act six: Toshiko corners the MC and forces them to learn an unfortunate truth. As for what that truth is, are you sure you want to know?

Act seven: With the group having been torn about by the previous revelation, you set about hunting down Toshiko alone. When you finally find her, you come across a horrifying scene. She has murdered her father after suffering a breakdown and then killed herself.

Act eight: Toshiko arrives in Yomi as an Onryō, and accuses Izanami-No-Mikoto of being the cause of her family’s destruction due to her having sent you back. Izanami-No-Mikoto ends up sending Toshiko back to life in much the same manner as you.

Having thought the fight was over, you set about reuniting everyone and enjoying whatever time you have left. But you are surprised when Toshiko appears out of nowhere and kills you. You rewind many times but always end up losing to her. You eventually learn, however, that Toshiko has gained the same powers as you and that you have, in fact, already beaten her multiple times, but she always rewound, so you forgot about it.

Act nine: Seemingly locked in an eternal battle, you and Toshiko fight it out for eternities. Until the two of you manage to kill each other at the exact same time, and something strange happens.

This time, upon rewinding, you experience a bright light. You look up and see a woman’s face staring down at you. A man then pushes his head into your view, and after the two of them talk to each other, you realise that they are Hayumi and Shakunetsu Busujima. You look to your left and see baby Kaito before you realise that you are now inside Toshiko’s body and have rewinded all the way back to her birth.

Now forced to experience Toshiko’s entire life, you wait 31 years to return to the final battle from her perspective, but it is just before then that you end up in Yomi once more. Izanami-No-Mikoto admits she has made a mistake, one which she intends to fix. Having accidentally caused a time loop, she gives you free reign to move through Toshiko’s entire life and change whatever you see fit, as long as you fix the time loop.

Meanwhile, Toshiko is living through your life in the same manner.

Act ten: the epilogue, which will be entirely dependent on your choices from other acts.

Finally, the note on Akari. Trust me, I’ve tried, but there is no way I can fit a romance route for her into this story. There may be a way for Toshiko to be romanced, though, but I’ll have to think some more on it.

Have a great day, and remember your spoiler tags!

In regards to the spoiler rough plot outline >

I can see how the Toshiko romance might work. Being forced to live through each others lives would be a extremely personal experience for both of you. To an extreme degree. I can see how that might end up manifesting in a romance for the two of them for many reasons I can’t really, find the words to explain or describe. I would be for it if you can manage to make it work.
