I’m particularly fond of the Rude Heir/Charming MC pairing. He’s so confused. It’s amazing.

Yes, but in a way I can’t help wondering what the rude heir of a nice MC thinks, could I think it’s nice because he intends to manipulate it? I am intrigued how MC would try to explain or prove that he is only kind because he likes it

I’m a total sap/hopeless romantic so Shy Mc/Charming Heir is my go-to combo  I was very tempted to go with Aloof Heir though

Fun game! I played it earlier and enjoyed it, but the updated demo where you meet the heir was really striking because of the amount of variation that could occur between the MC’s personality/outfit and the heir’s personality.

I went with the charming heir personally because I like my royals as royal as they can be, but I have to admit that some of the other options had a bit more personality. Even the aloof one. Perhaps it’s because the charming heir came across more as nervous? Not sure.

I did enjoy the manners and polish of the charming heir and hope to see more of that. And I’m especially interested to see how a charming heir deals with an MC that’s different personality-wise, while still keeping poised. (Especially a charming heir dealing with a rude or flirty MC). That’s where the fun is, I think! And as mentioned just above, shy MC + charming heir is a classic combo.

Nah, sarcastic MC + charming Heir is where the gold’s at.

Care to elaborate?

I mean, I’ve had a lot of fun exploring different pairings, but I think I might have had the most fun pairing a shy MC with a shy Royal.

My main MCs usually tend to rely on a charisma-like stat, so it kinda surprised me that that ended up being the one I enjoyed most. I mean, I’m super shy in real life, but RPing as charismatic tends to be the least violent and is usually my first pick. And for the charming MC I do tend to drift towards either sarcastic or aloof

…but truly, the pairing I most look forward to seeing develop is the shy MC/shy Royal. I don’t know why, but it definitely surprised me how charmed I was by it.

Yayyy for saves and the unlock!

You got the unlock? Lucky! I think I’m going to go through the demo again today with a different personality type for the princess and see how it goes. It sounds like aloof is a fun type so it’ll be interesting to see how it compares to shy.

Sarcastic MC - Rude Heir, it’s so funny.
Rude MC / Heir, I was getting ready to fight :joy:

One thing I would be kind of excited to see is an option to act the opposite of what you normally would, maybe at a climatic point of the story.

To elaborate…a shy MC can be normally timid and just go along with things. Maybe at one point, there can be an option to just force your way through the shyness and be confident/forceful for once. This would only work if you had enough shyness stat, and I think the effect on observers would be pretty dramatic since they wouldn’t see it coming.

On the other hand, a sarcastic/rude MC might be able to swallow their pride and sincerely plead for something instead of trying to brute force it. To observers, they would know the MC is being absolutely serious about it due to it being so out of character.

This wouldn’t be something to use in every situation, but if correctly timed in a high stakes scenario or something, I think it would be an amazing bit of development for the MC.

As an idea I fucking love it but I’m not sure how realistic it’d be. I mean, I’m the most sarcastic person I know and I’ve never acted serious even though there were times I probably should’ve. With strangers I’m also painfully shy and I’m hoping to one day be like fuck it and surprise the shit out of of me but… hasn’t happened. So I don’t know :man_shrugging:

You just described me

That’s what would make it so powerful though.

As a shy MC, you’re timid, nod your head, try to avoid conflict.

Maybe a scene comes up where you get confronted, told you aren’t good enough for the princess, and to be a good little boy like you’re told. Now, a standard shy response might be to brush past whoever it is and just ignore them, implying you still want to avoid conflict and being above those insults.

On the other hand…maybe you’re just sick of tbis shit and frustrations have been building. If you chose very few confident/aggressive options before and have a low stat there while a high shy stat, maybe you can just rip a new one on whoever the accuser is. “I’ve stayed silent, I’ve been patient, but I am tired of these accusations, tired of being told I’m not good enough, and tired of YOU. I’m in love with the royal, we make each other happy, and I am NOT going to put up with your childish insinuations any more. If you think you can beat me in the competition, be my guest. Otherwise, stay out of my way.”

Followed by any observers and maybe the royal just standing there slack jawed, the MC having an internal monologue freaking out about what they just did, flushing red when reminded of it…

Just an example. It would break the “always pick an option you have a high stat in” pattern rather realistically while staying true to the consequences about how the MC and characters would react.

It is definitely interesting but its execution might be difficult. Only some personalities would have a powerful change like this. It would also greatly depend on what their personality stats are precisely (the premium stats screen), and the context. I mean if you were only shy around the heir and chose a super forward response around Lyon (similar to what you suggested) it would have no impact.

What I am saying is is that it would require a lot of work to get right.

I TOTALLY second a snarky/laid-back MC + a charming/princely heir.

Am I the only one who imagines his MC in a fencing-type duel?
