Let’s give the gender arguments a rest. It’s up to the author what to do with male/female or co-ed teams, and points on both sides have been made.

One minor criticism of the concept is that it would work better if the player were younger. An athlete in their early thirties making the jump from a lower to higher tier league almost never happens. It would be much more likely to happen in the player’ early to mid twenties as that’s when they will have refined their game and “reached their potential” so to speak while being at their athletic prime.
