I found an error. Plus after meeting Cassiel we didn’t meet Lyra but she still joined us. And sometimes its like Areal joined the party but we never recruited her yet.
I was literally about to talk about this, thank you! I encountered the same error, even though Lyra was indeed a party member on my end.
However, Arael wasn’t and I still had the choice to spend time with her prior to Lyra and Arael meeting up somehow ![]()
Yeah, I forgot to add a stat check there. I’ll go back to those scenes and rework them as soon as I can. I also completely agree with you—I’ve been struggling with how to handle the stats, to be honest.
Originally, the idea was to let players choose between three base personalities that would heavily influence the story. But that ended up feeling too limiting, and most people seemed to agree, so I moved away from that approach. The problem is, by doing so, it caused quite a few inconsistencies with the character, like you pointed out.
I wanted to create a very forgiving system so people could focus on enjoying the story without worrying about min-maxing stats. But trying to keep it light also left me a bit lost on how best to actually use the stats in a meaningful way. Right now, sadly they feel kind of pointless.
It’s definitely something I’ll need to rethink moving forward, and see how to best approach it. Thank you for pointing it out!
Oh, I just figured out where I messed up there, haha. I accidentally used the same variable for two different things, which ended up breaking the flow of the scene. Sorry about that—it should be fixed now!
As for Arael showing up when she shouldn’t, that’s been a recurring issue. With so many variations, I sometimes get a bit lost keeping track of everything. I’ll review those scenes again to see if I can catch more of those mistakes.
If you happen to spot it again in the future, a screenshot would be super helpful. Thanks so much for pointing it out—I’ll do my best to get everything fixed as soon as possible!
Also the issue on line 653 should be fixed now!
Do you remember when that option showed up? I tried to cut all of them out, but somehow she always manages to sneak into scenes she’s not supposed to be in, haha.
That’s the only mention of Arael I recall seeing where she’s not supposed to be there
When it comes to personality stats, most of the IF I’ve read tend to have them be a contested stat that starts at a value of 50-
like for example, Emotional/Stoic. At 50 you’re perfectly neutral, while if you have 60, you lean towards being emotional- at 40, you’d lead to stoicism. Depending on which of these is higher, you could flavor the text appropriately for the situation. Here, the personality stats are purely gauges which can be a bit more limiting. If I used a stat from the game for an example, Honesty could be turned into a Honest/Deceptive split to lean one way or the other. Of course, not all of these have a simple ‘alternative’ stat like humanity or rage-
I guess rage could be rage vs control or something similar, but humanity could remain a percentage to add some unique scenes/reactions to having it exceptionally high or low.
As for the combat stats… well, that’s always a very hard thing to make relevant without also making some people concerned about minmaxing their gains. I’ve yet to feel their impact much, other than the fact you could have high enough combat skill to fight that one Aurelian better if you trained with Arael- and there should perhaps be a buff from attacking the castle on your own so that you can choose to fight him better if you didn’t hit it off with Arael, just to have an alternate method to meet that check, even if the choice name would need to be changed to not reference her.
Of course, I’m just throwing out suggestions. I wish you the best of luck with this.
Oh, I forgot to set the condition there, thank you, should be fixed now.
Fixed this one too.
Thank you for the suggestions—it’s really helpful to get a second opinion on these things. I really liked the idea of combining them, like making rage and control two sides of the same stat. It would make everything a lot more manageable. It’ll take some rewriting, but I think it would definitely be for the best.
I’ll see what I can do! It might take me a little while, but I’ll start working on it soon.
No more Zatus romance? Dude, that was my entire character arc! ![]()
Will the princess be a romance option or no?
Does the MC have a longer life span due to the experiments or does he get the typically 80 years of a human? I love the story so far btw.
oh I messed up the order of the commands, sorry about that. Its working now.
What do you mean? There’s a scene at the end where you can make the relationship with him official even.
